I had an awful experience with Z Tints and the owner, Hector. He showed up late and did a terrible job -- there were bubbles all over the tints with lints, and one of the pieces was even put on backwards (sticky side out). He spent 3 hours working on my car and even forgot some tools. He also forgot two small windows and didn't finish the job. He told me he'd come back the next day to complete it, but then ghosted me and stopped answering my calls and messages. Before disappearing, he gave me excuses about having a flat tire. Seems like lying is a normal thing for him. I ended up going to Jet Black Tint in Fremont to fix Hector's mistakes, and they did an amazing job. They gave me a great quote and a fair price to fix everything. Big shout out to them for saving the day! Would not recommend Z Tints to anyone -- learn from my mistake and go to someone reputable like Jet Black Tint instead. Also this guy won't do refunds he will ignore you unless you threaten him with legal actions. Please please please don't waste your time and seriously just go to a different business. read more

I hired Z Tints to tint the windows of my fiancé's Audi, and unfortunately, Hector's work fell far below expectations. To be fair, Audis are known to be challenging to tint, but nearly every window had bubbles and some very very big--except for the tiny corner ones... those were the only windows with no bubbles. Hector was consistently late to every appointment, and on the final one, he was completely unresponsive for TWO HOURS before finally replying to my many texts. At that point, I assumed he had flaked on me, so I went to OJ Tints to fix the poor job Z Tints had done. OJ Tints was incredible--they completed the job in under two hours, and the tint was flawless, with no bubbles whatsoever. I gave Hector multiple chances to make things right, even suggesting a partial refund to account for the time and money I wasted, but he didn't agree. To make matters worse, he showed up to one appointment with some wrong tint, forcing us to schedule the remainder of the tint job for the following day... Hector also claimed he could fix the bubbles after a week once the tint "cured," but I've had many cars tinted before and never experienced this issue or had anyone tell me to come back after a week to fix the bubbles....OJ Tints didn't leave a single bubble, even before curing. I waited several weeks before writing this review, hoping Hector would make things right with me, but he never did. I do think Hector is a decent person, but he's not skilled at running a business or ensuring customer satisfaction. read more

Do not use this vendor!!! Paid in full, and they only completed half of the job before disappearing! I've called and texted over 50 times to reschedule. Completely unprofessional, no value, and dishonest service --this is not how legitimate businesses operate! Don't let him continue to deceive, and don't be fooled. I could have easily scheduled another appointment at another location as someone else and deliver deserved justice. My form of justice would be to go the small claims route, where he'd lose, refuse to pay, and end up with a lien against them. Ultimately, their car could be impounded to cover the judgment. While it would be really easy to do this, I decided to let it go. Save yourself the trouble and find someone reliable. Don't make the same mistake--avoid this vendor. read more

Hector provided a very reasonable quote for my auto window tinting and was able to come out here on the same day. He was very friendly, answered all of my questions and was informative about process and care. Overall it was a very positive experience and I'd highly recommend Z Tints to my family and friends. read more

Hector was extremely patient and pleasant to work with. I was able to get an appointment booked within 24 hours, after messages back & fourth to ensure great quality & pricing. Huge perk of having mobile service! Unfortunately my battery died midway of the session (which was my fault) as he was able to assist me by driving down to an auto shop to get cables & jump start my car. This took additional time out of his day, so I truly appreciate him going above & beyond to take care of my hassle. Overall, Z Tints & Hector provided an outstanding service for my tint & it looks awesome. Already have recommendations placed in line. Thank you again for your service! read more

Just amazing customer service and got tints done easily. Definitely get yours done by Z Tints today.

Came in for the follow up appointment and Hector took care of a window I potentially messed up by rolling down prematurely. It's clear he takes pride in his work and he was understanding and professional about the whole experience. Set up a time with him and was in and out in under half an hour. Also - most reasonable price by far in the area. For both my appointment and my girlfriend's, I called six other shops and they all consistently quoted me $50-$100 more. For the level of service I received, and the price I paid, no complaints. read more

My boy from Z tints hooked it up!! Did my house. Had to get the car done. Highly appreciated!

Had Z do 15% ceramic tint all around for my MK7 GTI. It's been 4 months and the tint has held up great. He uses quality SunTek branded ceramic tint and you can feel the heat rejection. Includes lifetime warranty card from SunTek as well. Ceramic tint is a must have for anyone driving their car in the summer. Car cabin is significantly cooler. read more

I had to buy a used car after crashing my car. Every place I called tried to charger me $600+ for removal and retint because the old tint had some nasty bubbles and the tint was a ugly purple color. Gave the fellas at Z a chance since they're mobile and come to your residence. They advertise lifetime warranty on tints, it's been a little over a year since the job and I still have not been able to get a hold of anyone to get my window tints fixed. The rear trunk window bubbled throughout the center and also creased on the corners immediately after the job. The back windows on both sides have a 3cm gap between the molding and tint, which on sunny days it allows a thick strip of sun to come in the back seat. Make your investment count, spend the extra money and get a job well done. The 2 stars are for the mobile service read more

Please do yourself a favor and avoid Z Tintz and Hector. I've spent over two months in dealing with Hector and all I have to show for it is damage to my wheels and no tint. Maybe this is a one off situation or maybe it's because my car isn't a high end exotic? Either way I wouldn't take my changes with Hector and Z Tintz Here's my experience with Hector and Z Tintz.. I bought my new project car on July 18th and Hector had my car by the following weekend. I was looking to have all windows tinted, including the front windshield, with ceramic tint. When I came to pick up my car the front windshield was not tinted, there were bubbles and lint on every window that he had tinted and one window was not line up correctly. I was told that there was a "special tool" needed to tint the front windshield and that we would reschedule once the tool came in, which, according to Hector, should be the following week and he will fix the bubbles and lint at the same time. On August 10th I called Hector to get an update. and he had no idea who I was. After I explained my situation he said he would back to me the next day..which he never did. I had to call the day after and he told me that the "special tool" was delayed due to covid. On September 1st I, once again, had to reach out to Hector to get an update on this "special tool." Hector told me that the tool came in over a week prior! Are you kidding me... Now that Hector finally had this "special tool" he did not have the tint I wanted for the front windshield and, once again, he would have to order it and let me know when the tint arrived. (I don't understand how my tint wasn't placed aside since this "special tool" was on the way.) On Sep. 8th, after I reached out, Hector told me that the tint would be in on the 10th, but, once again, I never heard from him. On Sep. 18 I asked for an update and Hector replied that he had family matters to attend and that he could be back on the 24th to talk and..you guessed it...I never heard from him. I finally had enough of this situation and asked for the car to be done that week or give me a refund in which Hector decided to give me my refund. I dropped the car off and, after all that had happened, I give Hector another chance to do the job right since he had the car. He replied by saying he would "evaluate the windows and get back to me"...in which he never did. Another day goes by and I had to ask for an update and he said that car was done and the refund was in the glove box.(he had parked my car on the street) When I picked the car up the refund was $150 short and my passenger side wheels were curb rashed! And to top it all off Hector was not taking any responsibility for the wheels and was even pointing the fingers at other shops in the area..how does that make sense? This whole experience has been a nightmare at best and Hector's lack of professionalism is almost comical. read more

Got my model 3 tinted here with the ceramic tints and I couldn't be happier. Would give more stars if I could. Looked at a number of places, but he got me in right away and was able to get it done quickly. The tint job itself is amazing, extreme quality work. Thank you! read more

I just recently purchased a new vehicle and was looking to tint it ASAP! I shopped around a couple places and ended up choosing Z Tints. The gentleman offered competitive pricing for the quality material. Doing some prior research, I found out that he uses Suntek for his tint film. Knowing Suntek is a legitimate company, I trusted his choice and went for it. No regrets!! My car looks amazing (35% all around) and it feels "cooler" inside. Thank you Z Tints! read more

We strongly recommend not using Z Tints as we have found them to be unprofessional and unreliable. They showed up three hours late to the appointment and made multiple excuses for being late. Z Tints then made an appointment for the install and cancelled the day prior and said they would come back in three weeks (more excuses). Further, after conducting research Z Tints recommended window film that would not have met our needs (and in retrospect does not appear to know the right products). We strongly recommend one avoid this group as there are more reliable and professional options out there. read more

I have been wanting to tint my Model X for quite some time now, but never found the time to do it. Because of the virus, my schedule is a bit more free than usual! Unfortunately this business is not as reliable as I had hoped. I had contacted Hector and he was very polite and responsive the first few days. Answering the questions I had and even offering me a free upgrade to a better film. He offered mobile service which I was very excited for because of the whole Covid issue and was more than happy to have an at home service. Unfortunately the day of the job he had stated his van had broken down and was in the shop. I was totally fine with that and he said he would contact me within a few hours. I never heard back from him even when I had agreed to reschedule the appointment. He has many good reviews but definitely a few bad ones regarding communication and unfortunately I am one of those cases now. I wouldn't recommend this business. Thankfully I found another shop and they were amazing and not even that much more expensive than his prices. I wish this business better luck to future customers. read more

I reached out to Z Tints on June 15, 2020, via Yelp. Hector replied with information about types of tint and the benefits of each of them as well as pricing. I decided to book an appointment and he was able to see me the same day. I met Hector and he showed me the particular tint he'd be using. He compared a few different tints by percentage so I could see the difference and make a more informed decision. Hector did a great job. I can tell he takes pride in his work. He told me what to do and what not to do in the coming days to care for the tint. He clearly takes his business very seriously. I will be be recommending Z Tints to any friends or family interested in tinting their cars. The tint looks great and and I'm a happy customer. Steve read more
