I had an awful experience with Z Tints and the owner, Hector. He showed up late and did a terrible job -- there were bubbles all over the tints with lints, and one of the pieces was even put on backwards (sticky side out). He spent 3 hours working on my car and even forgot some tools. He also forgot two small windows and didn't finish the job. He told me he'd come back the next day to complete it, but then ghosted me and stopped answering my calls and messages. Before disappearing, he gave me excuses about having a flat tire. Seems like lying is a normal thing for him. I ended up going to Jet Black Tint in Fremont to fix Hector's mistakes, and they did an amazing job. They gave me a great quote and a fair price to fix everything. Big shout out to them for saving the day! Would not recommend Z Tints to anyone -- learn from my mistake and go to someone reputable like Jet Black Tint instead. I hired Z Tints to tint the windows of my fiancé's Audi, and unfortunately, Hector's work fell far below expectations. To be fair, Audis are known to be challenging to tint, but nearly every window had bubbles and some very very big--except for the tiny corner ones... those were the only windows with no bubbles. Hector was consistently late to every appointment, and on the final one, he was completely unresponsive for TWO HOURS before finally replying to my many texts. At that point, I assumed he had flaked on me, so I went to OJ Tints to fix the poor job Z Tints had done. OJ Tints was incredible--they completed the job in under two hours, and the tint was flawless, with no bubbles whatsoever. I gave Hector multiple chances to make things right, even suggesting a partial refund to account for the time and money I wasted, but he didn't agree. To make matters worse, he showed up to one appointment with some wrong tint, forcing us to schedule the remainder of the tint job for the following day... Hector also claimed he could fix the bubbles after a week once the tint "cured," but I've had many cars tinted before and never experienced this issue or had anyone tell me to come back after a week to fix the bubbles....OJ Tints didn't leave a single bubble, even before curing. I waited several weeks before writing this review, hoping Hector would make things right with me, but he never did. Completely unprofessional, no value, and dishonest service --this is not how legitimate businesses operate! Don't let him continue to deceive, and don't be fooled. I could have easily scheduled another appointment at another location as someone else and deliver deserved justice. My form of justice would be to go the small claims route, where he'd lose, refuse to pay, and end up with a lien against them. Ultimately, their car could be impounded to cover the judgment. They advertise lifetime warranty on tints, it's been a little over a year since the job and I still have not been able to get a hold of anyone to get my window tints fixed. The back windows on both sides have a 3cm gap between the molding and tint, which on sunny days it allows a thick strip of sun to come in the back seat. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Z Tintz and Hector. I've spent over two months in dealing with Hector and all I have to show for it is damage to my wheels and no tint. Maybe this is a one off situation or maybe it's because my car isn't a high end exotic? Either way I wouldn't take my changes with Hector and Z Tintz Here's my experience with Hector and Z Tintz.. I bought my new project car on July 18th and Hector had my car by the following weekend. I was looking to have all windows tinted, including the front windshield, with ceramic tint. When I came to pick up my car the front windshield was not tinted, there were bubbles and lint on every window that he had tinted and one window was not line up correctly. I was told that there was a "special tool" needed to tint the front windshield and that we would reschedule once the tool came in, which, according to Hector, should be the following week and he will fix the bubbles and lint at the same time. On August 10th I called Hector to get an update. and he had no idea who I was. After I explained my situation he said he would back to me the next day..which he never did. I had to call the day after and he told me that the "special tool" was delayed due to covid. On September 1st I, once again, had to reach out to Hector to get an update on this "special tool." Hector told me that the tool came in over a week prior! Are you kidding me... Now that Hector finally had this "special tool" he did not have the tint I wanted for the front windshield and, once again, he would have to order it and let me know when the tint arrived. (I don't understand how my tint wasn't placed aside since this "special tool" was on the way.) On Sep. 8th, after I reached out, Hector told me that the tint would be in on the 10th, but, once again, I never heard from him. On Sep. 18 I asked for an update and Hector replied that he had family matters to attend and that he could be back on the 24th to talk and..you guessed it...I never heard from him. I finally had enough of this situation and asked for the car to be done that week or give me a refund in which Hector decided to give me my refund. I dropped the car off and, after all that had happened, I give Hector another chance to do the job right since he had the car. He replied by saying he would "evaluate the windows and get back to me"...in which he never did. Another day goes by and I had to ask for an update and he said that car was done and the refund was in the glove box.(he had parked my car on the street) When I picked the car up the refund was $150 short and my passenger side wheels were curb rashed! And to top it all off Hector was not taking any responsibility for the wheels and was even pointing the fingers at other shops in the area..how does that make sense? This whole experience has been a nightmare at best and Hector's lack of professionalism is almost comical. read more

We strongly recommend not using Z Tints as we have found them to be unprofessional and unreliable. They showed up three hours late to the appointment and made multiple excuses for being late. Z Tints then made an appointment for the install and cancelled the day prior and said they would come back in three weeks (more excuses). Further, after conducting research Z Tints recommended window film that would not have met our needs (and in retrospect does not appear to know the right products). Unfortunately this business is not as reliable as I had hoped. I had contacted Hector and he was very polite and responsive the first few days. Answering the questions I had and even offering me a free upgrade to a better film. He offered mobile service which I was very excited for because of the whole Covid issue and was more than happy to have an at home service. Unfortunately the day of the job he had stated his van had broken down and was in the shop. I was totally fine with that and he said he would contact me within a few hours. I never heard back from him even when I had agreed to reschedule the appointment. He has many good reviews but definitely a few bad ones regarding communication and unfortunately I am one of those cases now. I wouldn't recommend this business.
