This company is the worst to deal with! I had some items encased. I received an invoice on June…read more20, 2024, which included a $35 credit card fee. Since Robert (owner) included it in the invoice with no option to pay with an alternative payment, I said OK, I will pay with my credit card and at least get points on my credit card. I made payment immediately on the June 20th. The invoice said the encasement will be mailed 10-13 days from payment. Prior to receiving the invoice, Robert told me my encasement was done, but the engraver made a mistake on the engraving and he wanted him to redo it, which I was happy with, since I was spending a lot of money on this encasement. A couple days after I made my payment, I received an email from Robert asking if I could make my payment through Zelle (I'm guessing because of less fees to the business), but not wanting to refund me any of the $35 credit card fee he charged me. I sent him a copy of my bank statement that showed I already made my payment on June 20th. I called Robert on July 1st and asked if he could send me a photo before he ships, which he did and he said it will ship out by UPS on July 2nd and should take one day for delivery. I received an email on July 2nd from UPS that the label was created and will be delivered on July 3rd. I waited all day July 3rd and no delivery. I was a little upset but understood the holiday was the next day. I figured it would ship out on July 5th with a delivery date of the 6th. July 6th came and went with no delivery. I checked UPS app and it still said only a label was created. I called Robert on Monday, July 8th and asked about the shipping of my encasement. He came up with excuses and guaranteed that my encasement will go out today. Update: I just received an email from UPS that they have received my package and should be delivered tomorrow.

I mention this as the handle was about 0.325 inches diameter solid soft brass. It was too long and I needed it shorter. Instead of using a hack saw to cut and sand it myself, I thought to take it to a place that has things setup, the stuff in place, and he can easily cut it. I found him in the business center while I was having somee other work done by another shop. Terry charged me $60 for that 1 cut. Something anyone could have done in about 5-15 minutes, without the setup!. He said, well its hard to get everything right, bla, bla, bla , when I asked why such a high price. His answers were unfounded. Its not like he coated the brass with SS finish, lol. Years later I needed a number of large thick walled posts cut down from 12ft to a shorter length. I made sure not to bother with JayTech. I found a shop on Plummer, off of Desoto and they took these heavy steel posts about 5" in diameter and made the cuts for the same price on 3 pieces of what this guy changed me on a single, less than half inch soft metal. Clean, nice work. I am sure JayTech does decent work, but is as decent a BS ripoff. If he didn't want to do it, or he doesn't deal with cutting, etc he could have just said so, or direct me to someplace that does cut, etc. I have worked around such fabrication shops, and to this day , I wont forget what a rip-off this guy was for him to take advantage. Its not the $ per-say, its the way he went about it. He withheld any idea of what it would cost when I asked before hand, and then did the work, and wanted $60. ...lol...funny now.

Thanks to Terry T. at Jaytech she rides again. He repaired the crack and was thorough enough to notice the interior of the seat tubing was wider than at the mouth and recommended the addition of stabilizing screws to prevent future movement that would ultimately stress the new weld and break it again. The additional work and bare aluminum gives her a bit of a "Frankenbike" vibe , but I'm digging it. They're like a survivor's badges of honor.

The block was acid dipped, decked, bored and honed. He also had my crankshaft ground, and balanced the whole rotating assembly. We had just got our Santa Fe washed at Speedwash on Roscoe near Tompanga and realized we wanted new wipers. Yes, I suppose buying windscreen wipers AFTER the heavy rains of Winter may be futile, but I believe in Spring showers so....fingers crossed! Rather than hitting the chain auto part shops in this area, I decided to try CQ Auto Parts. I love a local spot and this one is a gem. Pretty quiet this morning, but Simon was there to greet us and inquire as to what brought us in this day. Since I couldn't remember the wiper sizes - Note to self: Note this! - he looked it up. As I found out last year, when you double check the size, one(the smaller passenger side wiper) is listed as 13" on some sites and 14" on others. We went with the 13", made our purchase, chatted a bit more with Simon about "signs o' the times", etc, then made our way out. I double checked the size we put on last year, remembering we went back and forth a couple of times with the smaller wiper, before we drove away. Simon noticed this from inside the shop and came out to lend assistance, thinking we were installing them. I showed him the wiper and mentioned how frustrating it was that the smaller wiper seems to be the challenge, but he agreed, the smaller wiper currently on the vehicle looked like a 15". So he went inside, grabbed a 15", returned, compared then exchanged the 13" wiper I had purchased. He asked if we would like him to put them on, but we declined and thanked him before departing the curb.
