I found on this place by accident as I was looking with some friends for a nice brunch place on a Sunday afternoon but the place recommended to me was closed. We spotted the café because of its terrace and the young clientele.
The place is really nice, with this retro look that draws Hipsters like a magnet. It is located in front of the Fritschiwiese Park so if you're bored you can always have a look at the people in the park :P
We had a Bircher muesli, cappuccinos, croissants, scrambled eggs, bacon and some bread. The Bircher muesli was really good, and there was more than enough of it J I think I had never seen so many toppings on a single Bircher: I remember at least blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raisins and 3 different sorts of nuts. It was a delight J My friends also liked their eggs, bacon and croissants. The only bad note here were the cappuccinos, as they came warm.
Although prices were aligned with Zurich prices, I must say that my biggest complaint is the service. We had an unfriendly waiter who was confused on who ordered what, and each time we had to wait a lot to be served (maybe that's why our cappuccinos came warm). And it's not like the place was full.
I would go back again for a beer or so (I have seen that they also serve nice Belgian beers) or even have dinner there but I hope that next time the service will be a bit more efficient and friendly. read more
