    Hangover brekkie

This place is excellent! Upon first impression, there was a lot of people enjoying a morning with bunch at this location. We had a bit of a wait before getting seated because it was fully packed. The food came by quickly and were all amazing quality. The fruits on the fitness breakfast were all well picked and flawless. Giving off great sweetness with each bite. The spreads were easy to spread and tasty. The muesli came extremely fast and was delicious, probably one of the best version of overnight oats that I've had. The sausage on the brekki was well seasoned and scrumptious. The muesli was the best I've ever had, extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. Overall, service was great and the food was all excellent. Would definitely come back here if I had the chance. I definitely recommend giving this place a visit

Excellent outside seating area, located in a calm neighborhood (a bit far from the bus station) that made me think of the west village in New York. The place was busy with locals and their toddlers. It is very family oriented although I saw also a lot of hipsters. The menu isn't large but it is enough for a morning meal to please anyone. (Ask for the menu in english). I went for the bircher muesli (8chf) which is very local dish, with red berries, nuts, grated apples and whipped cream. It was delicious and fresh, very satisfying on a warm day. It is served with 2 slices of homemade bread loaf and you can ask for some butter (extra 1chf) The coffee was decent but not exceptional which I expected so I don't blame them. The place was busy but we didn't wait for a table as we came a bit later than the formal breakfast time. It is a charming place which I would definitely recommend for a brunch or breakfast for their beautiful (almost kitch) setting and servings.

Nice table - you will feel at home :-)

Excellent location, as the name indicates, you are almost at home. The food is of very good quality, service excellent, and ambiance casual. I can recommend the burger (even if really expensive, it is worth its price) and the waffle. They always have 2-3 specials!

So, we finally found this cafe. Read about it from an e-Newsletter that I subscribe to. It was Sunday, midday, so we thought it wouldn't be too busy. It was still very busy, which is a good sign, right? After all, it is Sunday, and it is brunch o'clock! We end up sitting outside, which is fine, there were cute birds that kept flying in and out of the roofed area. We had a peak inside before sitting down, and it is CUTE! It does look like "dihei", like grandma's living room. I loved the mix of furniture and the colours, the bits and bobs around. As we sat down outside, I wasn't sure if there would be table service or not. I was preparing myself to look at the menu, and go in to order at the bar. Just as we were looking at the menu, the waitress came to bring the order from another table. I already saw from a distance, that her tray was over loaded with the coffee pots and glasses and bottles (why didn't she just come a second time, with the rest of the order?), and the next thing you know, it was on the floor. This happens to any good waiter, but then again, any good waiter would not overload their tray (just saying). I went for a cappuccino and the waffles, sweet. The price was pretty steep! CHF 19.50 for an order of waffles?! I mean I know Zurich is expensive, but I thought, we'll see what these girls are doing differently with these waffles. We got our coffees and complimentary glasses of tap water pretty quickly. My cappuccino was a bit luke warm, it tasted like as if the milk wasn't warmed up. Half an hour passed and no signs of our waffles. I had forgotten about them as well, had I not seen another table get their food before ours, and realising that they came after us. So, when I got a chance, I asked the waitress about our waffles. She apologised and said she would ask in the kitchen. In about 3 minutes, our waffles came out, brought by another girl. (Clearly, they lost the ticket to the food and it was just lingering in the kitchen) I don't want to sound like a total snob, but when I order waffles, I like them to be warm, because how long does it take to make waffles? It's like with pancakes, they're supposed to be warm. Ours were cold. Two waffles covered in icing sugar, a mini jar (egg cup size) of syrup, a bit of fruit mush (raspberries and rhubarb) and a dollop of cream. CHF 19.50. I thought it was a bit overpriced. I ate the whole thing, since I don't waste food, drank my cappuccino and my water. I asked for a refill of the water, and they happily did so. After the waitress cleared our table, she came back with a piece of chocolate cake, as an apology for the late food. I thought this was a nice touch! Not many places would do this, and I have to give them a double thumbs up for this. We asked for the bill, ready to leave after hours of chatting and waiting. My order of waffles and a cappuccino came to CHF 24.- I'll leave it to you to decide.... For me, I will be choosing somewhere else for my next brunch.

I found Kafi Dihei on Yelp and am so glad I did! They have amazing pancakes on the weekends. They are always different and always yummy. It gets rather warm inside so we try to sit outside when it's not freezing. There are blankets and on the best days, visits from Sira the cat. Everything we've tried is fresh and delicious (large breakfast, pancakes, lamb burger, raspberry cheesecake, etc). English menu available and daily specials.

Located in a quiet area this cozy cafe makes you feel like visiting your aunt or grandma. The plates, chairs and tables are mixed from different designs and gives the cafe a charming and personal touch. We shared three different cakes which were very tasty. I can recommend the fresh strawberry / pie plant lemonade with mint, although it was quite a little bit expensive with 8,50 CHF.

My new favourite breakfast/brunch place in Zurich! Took the daily special "blueberry cheesecake pancake", with some extra maple syrup, delicious!! My friend took the french toast, also unbeatable! Great atmosphere, excellent service, friendly waitresses, relaxing.

This is my favorite brunch place in Zurich. The omelets and pancakes are particularly delicious. Make sure to check out the weekly specials on the board. They don't take reservations on weekends, so I recommend either coming very early when they open or late (say after 1pm). With that in mind, you can ask if it's okay to wait for the next available table, to which they will likely reply yes. During the summer, they have outdoor seating, so they can seat more people.

Beautiful large upholstered pink bench for accommodating guests to enjoy good Swiss cuisine. To the right, you will find beautiful bar area, filled with... you guessed it, more pink flowers. The atmosphere is relaxing with great staff helping you decide on Swiss menu items. In the middle of the cafe, you will find additional tables with chairs that's where I enjoyed my Swiss cuisine. I ordered, "CONSEQUENT SALMON," breadbasket, butter, jam, sliced cheese and fruits, salmon and rösti. My meal tasted great and it was pleasant to sit, relax and take time to really enjoy all the flavors. I would certainly recommend this place and look forward returning. After you finish your breakfast, step outside to enjoy beautiful, "Limmat River," running along side. Café Elena located walking distance to HB Train Station, largest train station in Switzerland.

The seating is comfortable and plush (maybe microfiber?). Music is very 90s r&b. I'm not sure if it's the general vibe or just the particular day we went, but it was enjoyable for me. Service Attentive, but not overbearing. Someone offered us several available tables as we stepped in to choose from. The wait staff showed us the wifi code and their menu is offered as a qr code to view on your phone. We were given enough space and time to go over the menu and she answered any questions we had. Food I got the pink velvet macchiato, which was very rich in coffee flavor, even with the tall glass of milk. The mixed colors were still pretty. I got the Turkish breakfast, which is pretty large, so definitely arrive hungry. There was a combination of sweet and savory in this meal - a small skillet of tomatoes and egg, two different kinds of sausage (one larger, sliced and pan fried to be crispy, while the other is pink, soft, delicate and came in 3 small ones), a hard boiled egg, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, sheep's cheese similar to feta, a side of bread, butter, and jam, tea, baklava, and a little rose gummy dessert. The combination of textures and flavors were wonderful, but the bread was a little on the crunchy side, when i would have preferred soft. The baklawa was filled with pistachios, had a lovely pastry crust, but wasn't overly sweet. The pink, gummy sweet had a hint of rose, so it wasn't overpowering and it didn't stick to your teeth afterwards, so it was a perfect ending to a meal. I didn't get to try the farmer's breakfast other than the beans, but my friend was satisfied with the meal.

This place is a conditorei (has a sit down area to enjoy pastries and sweet baked treats) and not a confiserie (take away truffles and candies). They claim to have the best hot chocolate and I would have to disagree. They do have good desserts to pair with their hot chocolate. The building its in has been around since 1824. The bakery opened in 1874 but the cafe didn't actually open until March 2019 so, the name is misleading. They have indoor seating and also patio seating in front or in the back. They have smoothies, milkshakes, matcha, cold brew options, sparkling wine options, ice cream, patisserie items, and brunch food. You have 6 options for their hot (or cold) non-alcoholic chocolate: classic, with marshmallows, with whipped cream, with chili flakes, with a shot of fresh ginger, with a shot of espresso; or 4 alcoholic hot (or cold) chocolate options: rum, amaretto, Bailey's or Grand Marnier. Passion Fruit Panna Cotta: Nice balance of bitter dark chocolate and tart Passionfruit. The panna cotta was creamy and soft. Dark chocolate holding everything together. I love Passionfruit and chocolate combo. 4.5/5 Chocolate Mousse: You can't go wrong with anything chocolate in Switzerland. This has white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate, and cocoa nibs at the bottom. Great creamy texture. Pillowy like marshmallow. 4/5 The Classic Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream: Underwhelming. I've had better hot chocolate somewhere else in Zürich. It's a step up from Swiss Miss. 2.5/5 The Classic Cold Chocolate with Whipped Cream: The same as what was mentioned above but the cold version which is lukewarm. 2.5/5 Service was good though.

I stayed in Cherry which is a single twin bed room. Despite being above a busy cafe/bar, my room was quiet and had a view over the street and patio for the cafe. The single bathroom is shared so there might be an issue with waiting, although I had no issues during my stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I return to Zurich. This place calls itself a 'Cafebar' and I would be inclined to go along with that. Have a coffee, a campari, wine or an ale while sitting with friends and chatting. There's grub in the form of soups, salads, sandwiches and such to fortify the tummy. As an after-dinner drink order a coffee with schnaps! If it weren't a good idea, then the place would be called something else, I should think. What I didn't realise until I checked out their website in greater detail is that Kafischnaps also offers accomodation for the Zurich visitor.
