Great cappuccino

I'm not familiar with this part of Zurich so I find it interesting to see this place was so busy on Sunday. Many because they offer English breakfast which comes with bacon, beans and sausage and fried eggs. I rarely see knuspermüslie so it was good to try it here, although it's overpriced at 8,50 CHF. Basically it's crunchy granola cluster with nuts. Cappuccino was pretty good though. As it was busy and small, I didn't feel relaxing so I probably won't be here for brunch again as there are other places nowadays offering brunch at more peaceful atmosphere.

A really happy brunch. The English breakfast was made with a lot of love. I think we went at the time of Sunday church so the place was empty. We loved it! We soon need to find cheaper places to eat :D

Cinnamon french toast

A cute and lovely little cafe, perfect for a weekend brunch. The staff is extremely accommodating (they had perfect English and English menus!) and very kind. We ordered the pariser breakfast, which came with a croissant, challah bread, wheat bread, butter, and delicious strawberry jam, the cinnamon sugar french toast, and the hummus bagel. Highly recommend the hummus bagel -- the bagel was very hearty and the hummus is homemade and delicious. Pro tip: Almost every restaurant and shop is closed on Sundays in Switzerland, but Bubbles is open! We were so happy with our experience we even tried to go back for dinner (alas, they only serve breakfast and lunch)! All in all, a definite must-try in Zurich.

Great place for English breakfast comfort food.

Perfect little family owned place to get great English breakfast comfort food. A rare find in Zurich.

Decent brunch spot/cafe. The bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon doesn't have much salmon in it but it hit the spot for this New Yorker. The coffee is decent and the staff are extremely friendly. They work efficiently as well even when the place is full (even when it's mostly empty) they won't give you trouble for ordering tap water either which is always appreciated. The "spicy" French toast with cheese is interesting--extremely pungent and a bit soggy but it's a decent breakfast/brunch dish for anyone who appreciated stinky Swiss cheese. It is conveniently located and has plenty of space to accommodate large groups so i have never made a reservation. There is also outdoor seating but small tables and not much of a view. I also noticed dogs are allowed which seems par for the course in this city!

My boyfriend and I were in Zurich for Easter weekend and were on the hunt for a great coffee shop…read morewith an awesome vibe. We were lucky enough to find a place that was open over the holiday weekend, and even luckier that this is the place we found! The owners of this cafe (I'm sorry I didn't get their names) are so sweet, friendly, and genuinely care about their customers and the products they are serving. On our first visit, we ordered a single shot of espresso, and it came with a delicious macaron. They told us where they buy their macarons, and explained that it came from a nearby bakery that only uses Swiss-local ingredients in their products. The espresso and the macaron were both absolutely delicious! The next day we were again on the hunt for coffee and immediately went back to this cafe, rather than taking a chance and finding something we didn't like. The owners remembered us from the day before, and were interested in hearing how our trip was going so far, and what else we had planned. We made the same order as the day before, and they told us today's espresso was different from the day before. Today's espresso was Kenyan, and the day before had been Latin American. Maybe I got that backwards, but either way, we enjoyed listening to the description of the different tasting notes between the two roasts. We also shared a beer, which of course was a Zurich-local brew. The vibe at this cafe is very fun and relaxing. It is located inside Seven Friday, as it is a pop-up cafe. They also serve Pho and Bahn Mi but we did not try that.

Yelp Review 2026 #47:…read more Cafe & Conditorei 1842 is "Zürich's oldest cafe". This place is a conditorei (has a sit down area to enjoy pastries and sweet baked treats) and not a confiserie (take away truffles and candies). They claim to have the best hot chocolate and I would have to disagree. They do have good desserts to pair with their hot chocolate. The building its in has been around since 1824. The bakery opened in 1874 but the cafe didn't actually open until March 2019 so, the name is misleading. They have indoor seating and also patio seating in front or in the back. They have smoothies, milkshakes, matcha, cold brew options, sparkling wine options, ice cream, patisserie items, and brunch food. You have 6 options for their hot (or cold) non-alcoholic chocolate: classic, with marshmallows, with whipped cream, with chili flakes, with a shot of fresh ginger, with a shot of espresso; or 4 alcoholic hot (or cold) chocolate options: rum, amaretto, Bailey's or Grand Marnier. Passion Fruit Panna Cotta: Nice balance of bitter dark chocolate and tart Passionfruit. The panna cotta was creamy and soft. Dark chocolate holding everything together. I love Passionfruit and chocolate combo. 4.5/5 Chocolate Mousse: You can't go wrong with anything chocolate in Switzerland. This has white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate, and cocoa nibs at the bottom. Great creamy texture. Pillowy like marshmallow. 4/5 The Classic Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream: Underwhelming. I've had better hot chocolate somewhere else in Zürich. It's a step up from Swiss Miss. 2.5/5 The Classic Cold Chocolate with Whipped Cream: The same as what was mentioned above but the cold version which is lukewarm. 2.5/5 Service was good though.

Very cute cafe in the middle of Zurich. It is a great place for coffee or breakfast. We went there…read moreon a Saturday morning and it got busy very quickly. The tables are small and it may not be easy to have all your food on one of them. We had eggs (over easy) and an omelet with Latte and hot chocolate. The food was great and came out at a good pace. It was a great experience.
