I tried this fun thing called Hausgemachtes Öpfelchüechli mit Vanillesauce ... which is basically like fried apple rings with vanilla sauce. It was pretty decent, and not too heavy, but nothing to write home about. Also, I know Europeans have a different pace of life, but I kept trying to get the waiters attention (since we were in a bit of a rush) and he kept kinda just ignoring me or giving me one of those "yeah, yeah get back in your seat and i'll get to you when I get to you" kinda looks. I got the hangover brekkie which consisted of a pile of potato wedges smothered in cheese, a fried egg, 2 slices of bacon, a sausage, and herb cream cheese. This.... was so incredibly heavy - I love potatoes but couldn't only eat half of it. Part of it is because the chef puts the entire plate into like the microwave/oven once everything is plated so the cheese hardens too quickly and the potato wedges were mouth burning hot the entire meal. Even 15 min in, I was burning my mouth on them. The sausage also had an unusual texture and taste to it, I guess I'm used to American sausages but it just did not fit my palette. Also cream cheese is a strange pairing with this dish, something like ranch would have been better. The only redeeming quality was the bacon was perfectly crisp. The cappuccino Dihei was just the boost of caffeine I needed but when I read orange zest as part of the ingredients, I was expecting like finely grated orange, not a thick slice of orange peel hanging off of the cup.

To me the place was pretty noisy- music was for my taste a little too loud, so I probably wouldn't come here for reading. Didn't matter since I was in company. I ordered hot tea, and used my teabag sparingly. When I asked for more hot water from a server, I was refused unless I paid for an additional tea again; it was against the rules she said. When I asked another server about it, he also said it was against the rules--but he would make an exception. I thanked him and he brought the hot water. The woman server then approached me and told me that I wasn't nice to ask another server. I told her that the restaurant's policy was unfriendly, that it didn't cater to a customer's reasonable wishes, and that it was good that the Zurich's custom was not to tip. I also told her that I would post a review of the restaurant and share my experience. Then the second server came back (the one who gave me more hot water) and asked if it was true that I would review the restaurant. I said yes--but only decided to do so when the first server told me I wasn't nice. Then he snatched my hot teacup away and showed me the door!
