They have fans going for temperature control, although I imagine if you are on the side of the studio where you are in the sun, it probably gets warm fast. They has two instructors at the open house class, which I tried, Kristin and Connie. This was kind of nice because it meant there was always one instructor free to correct people's form. Everyone working here was friendly. I found the method here was more like pilates than other barre classes. The class used lots of equipment and it was all provided (mats, ball, bands, weights, cushions). A nice touch is that towels were provided for working out. There are showers but only one washroom. The locker area is pretty small and there ends up being a bit of a line to change/access them. Since I attended an open house, they had a clothing pop up, mini facials and fresh juice. Epsom salts were given after the class to newbies and a one month deal. Newbies also were strategically placed between people with previous experience at the studio so there was a lot of thought put into making the experience good. Staff and instructors made sure to introduce themselves to newbies and to watch them during classes to provide extra assistance. They also checked in after the class ended. The negatives are that there is a dress code for this studio that includes no shorts and no midriff showing. I appreciate that this policy applies to all genders, but it is also a bit much, especially the shorts part and not great if you overheat easily. It is also a bit comtrary to body positivity. Another thing to note is that there is no instructor doing the moves with you so it is hard to follow if you are a visual person. The instructions are all verbal and that can be tricky.

Horrible horrible horrible!!! I went once and loved it…read more Honestly I did. I am about 30 pounds overweight but flexible and I enjoyed my first class. The second class I asked for some advice from the ladies working there for one of the moves. They told me not to bother. I asked why? They said I should be in shape first. Great! Why am I there??? I am not that over weight and I just had my third child like 8 months ago. So if your not already in tip top shape and don't need an exercise program then this place is for you! If your in need of a little help then run away from this place! They will treat you like garbage and shame you in any way they see fit. My girlfriend who is on top top shape told the manager she was being rude and she walked away mumbling "I am not the fat one". WTF!?!?! Oh and my friend is not white so I think this was the real reason for the white privileged north van trailer trash to belittle us and not care and walk away insulting us. It was pretty obvious.

Maybe it would be worth trying to put a sandwich board out on one of the main streets so people are aware. This is a small business and the owner, Jade, teaches many of the classes. She is super friendly and you can really see the effort she put into making the studio a nice space. There is tasteful decor that a lot of bigger studios can't be bothered to do. After entering, you go up some stairs. If there is a previous class, you will need to wait in the stairwell until the class is let out as the door is locked. Not a great waiting area, but also a common thing to do to prevent theft so I don't mind it. The reception has a couple of chairs and a shoe rack to place your shoes. There is also a water cooler and towels to use during the workout. This studio does require grip socks, so bring your own or you can purchase branded ones at the front desk (props to the owner for branding these socks!). Otherwise, all equipment is provided including mats, weights and Pilates balls. There is one washroom, which was nicely decorated and had towels instead of paper towels (plus for sustainability). The washroom also had a few toiletries like hairspray and Kayne a spray deodorant? There are two cha ge rooms, a coat rack and lockers with provided locks and keys. It's a small area but functional. The studio itself is a really nice airy space with hardwood floors. There are tons of windows and bars all around, plus a mirror on one wall. I would be concerned about being in the sun on the window side, but the studio has pretty decent AC so it didn't get that hot. The instructor stands in the middle but also moved around to either end during the class, so there was good engagement. Sound system worked well. The class was unique from other barre fusion type classes because we did a bunch of planks and push ups (did not expect this!) and then sections with weights and abs on the floor. I would say there's probably 40% full barrel and the rest is either not barre, but might incorporate some barre concurrently. There was a lot of time under tension, which was good. At the end, there was disinfectant spray and towels to wipe down equipment. The demographic here is pretty mixed across ages and body types. I think it's a pretty welcoming space for people of all abilities. It shows that Jade really puts a lot into this studio and business and I encourage people to give it a try as they seem to have a lot of promotions. I hope it gets more exposure!

Sculpt your body, feel the burn…read more Sculpt Intervals with Jade was, by far, one of the best classes I've taken! It was a fast-paced workout with minimal breaks and great music to push my limits and keep me pumped throughout. Jade, the owner and our instructor, took us through a range of low impact, isometric movements, at times with weights added. My muscles felt like they were on fire (a lunge and curtsy combo is no joke!) with each interval. Jade's energy, enthusiasm, and clear instructions made the pain more bearable though. If it's your first time, I suggest doing a class through ClassPass like I did and perhaps trying the Intro Offer ($69 for 2 weeks unlimited) after. Note that the studio is quite small and hard to find, and you'll be waiting in the stairwell to be let in. It is a very clean and cozy space though, with lockers, change rooms, a washroom, and small towels provided.

It's a nice studio with nice ambiance, but I found it a little difficult to see what the instructor was doing since I wasn't up front. I think I still prefer yoga studios with mirrors. In addition, I prefer "hot" yoga. The instructor I had that taught yin yoga with sound bath is really nice and attentive, but she said it was her last class that day and will be teaching at other y yoga locations further from me. My complaint is that for the boxing classes, you do have to rent the gloves unless you have your own (I have my own hand wraps so I'm not sure if you'd have to buy that as well). For such a high-end place, I would've expected that to be included in the booking.
