My husband and I went to Yun Nan for lunch today. We were greeted bye the hostess/server as soon as we entered the restaurant. She was very friendly and welcoming and seated us immediately. We were given menus and water and she came back to get our orders after only a few minutes. We ordered the kimchi noodle soup and the coconut curry noodle soup. The kimchi soup was fairly sour and a little spicy. The coconut curry soup wasn't really coconutty, but had a nice curry flavour with a little bit of spice. We both really enjoyed our dishes. This is the typical Yunnan 'crossing the bridge' noodle soup which has the toppings on the side. It's always a fun experience to put your toppings in the soup by yourself, especially when the soup is piping hot. We would definitely visit again. read more

Their rice noodles were not very good. Too soft/overcooked for me. The noodles were unlimited. Their coconut curry broth was not special either. Very bland. Almost like it was from a powder base and over diluted. read more

Delicious and inexpensive rice noodle. All the soups are made with pork broth. We tried the original pork broth, the spicy shredded pork as well as the spicy fish. They were all delicious and flavorful. The cold beef appetizer and the potato salad were also pretty good. The service is extremely quick and the staff are pretty nice. They also serve bubble tea and some other drinks. I got the peach green tea. Although it wasn't really one of the best tea I've had, it was definitely nice to have a sweet drink on the side. There is parking outside and they accept credit cards. Would definitely come back. read more

Yunnan cuisine isn't really big here in Montreal, so having a traditional Chinese noodle shop in the South Shore was exciting. The restaurant itself is very bright and modern with a bubble tea counter as well. It's definitely a unique experience: you order your broth and you all your ingredients are brought to you separately. It's great because you can see exactly what goes in your soup and you can choose the portion of ingredients you want. I had the spicy coconut soup with curry sauce and it was tasty and very creamy. Others in my group had ordered the traditional and chicken broth, and it was honestly quite underwhelming and lacked flavour. There's a great variety in side dishes, ranging from sliced beef, spam, minced pork, shrimp, corn, egg, goji berries and much more (overall about 10 sides). Service and price were decent as well but I must be honest, I left the restaurant kind of disappointed. It wasn't as savoury as I expected it to be and a what's flawed about putting in ingredients after is that they don't have time to be cooked in the broth. However, I still recommend to try the restaurant. Perhaps had my expectations not been as high, I would have had a more enjoyable experience, so maybe I will have to come back! read more
