11.7.22 Sushi Not "yummy" though :-( pass
    Hank R.

11.7.22 This is a pick up & take out only restaurant. I wish I could describe the food the same as the name of the restaurant but I wasn't able to. It wasn't yummy. They have a cubby door made out of wood that they open to receive your payment and give you your food. It was a little strange. Unfortunately I am unable to recommend this place to anyone. This is based only on their sushi. The sushi was so unappetizing I went back in and left it on the counter for them. See pic below I'm not trying to be harsh but it is some of the most bland, pasty & chalky sushi I've ever encountered. It was also drier & chalky more so than any sushi I've ever had. I've never used chalky to describe sushi ever in the past. This is a first for me. Obviously sushi isn't wet but it's moist to a point. This was chalky, pasty and slightly crunchy dry. The salad that comes with a sushi lunch special was incredible. It had some type of ginger dressing that tasted fantastic. The lettuce was so crisp & fresh also. I don't even know what else to say. Great easy parking lot. Located right next door to a starbucks. Sometimes we see the poor reviews and might think, oh this person or that person is just being ornery. Well, not always the case. Most of them are correct with their experience with the place. I wish I had listened to the less than stellar reviews from this place. They are correct with their not great comments.

I would like to start the review by saying the decoration and space is cozy and makes you feel good since the moment you walk in. The sushi is tasty and well presented, it is delicious better than other places I've gone. The service is great , friendly and polite. I will definitely come back.

Great sushi, very nice people. Love the appetizers also. Special rolls are always fantastic.

We went here for lunch yesterday and it was our first time here. The place is very cute with tables and booths inside and a few places at the sushi bar. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly and offered suggestions. My husband and I had an order of steamed shumai- which was good. We got a house salad as well. The ginger dressing was flavorful, but a little oily. For rolls, I had a Philadelphia roll and coconut shrimp roll. The coconut shrimp roll was so delicious and if you like coconut I would recommend! My husband had 2 special rolls, the king salmon and the transformer roll. I only tried the transformer, which was also very tasty. Out total bill was $60, which was not too bad considering we had 3 special rolls.

Green salad with added avocado, fried veggie gyozas, and clear soup. All delicious and very fresh!

Update 5/15/18: Oh, Yummy. How you have fallen from my good graces in the same way so many other new sushi spots do. It's the same thing time and time again, they open and there is such attention to detail, such fresh ingredients, such tasty food...and then they become complacent. What was perfectly fried veggie gyoza with plenty of flavorful dipping sauce has become underwhelming and undercooked. What was delicious avocado salad with fresh greens and ginger dressing has become a bowl full of the bitter inedible lettuce base trimmings in massive chunks. What was a perfectly prepared clear soup with crispy fried onions has become a bowl of murky spongy fried onion bleh. Thankfully the quality of ingredients for their sushi had not yet fallen as well, however they were so poorly rolled they they broke open and everything spilled out as soon as you touched them with chop sticks so we had to resort to eating them with our hands. Yummy, you're breaking my heart.

Yummy! This place was delicious. Our server was amazing. The food is cheap! The portions are perfect. Server gave us a menu with her favs circled to try next visit. Can't wait to try the spider roll!!!!

This is a sushi roll and look the size of it

Miserable portions and really expensive I paid $28 for 2 sushi rolls half of the size of a supermarket sushi. Very disappointed

I came in here twice for dinner and was please both instances. I like to order spicy tuna, Philadelphia, and a specialty roll of whatever catches my eye. All were delicious, though I must say they take longer than most restaurants to turn out the sushi. But it was tastey nonetheless and is on my radar of good sushi spots in the area.

Just opened- next to Starbucks in the Big Y Plaza. Great sushi! Very clean and attractive inside. Nice intimate setting. Had Gyoza appetizer and variety of rolls. Right now it's BYOB, but there is a liquor store next door (I think they are in process of getting their liquor license). Highly recommend checking out.

We stopped in for quick lunch before early PM movie. My son is a sushi lover and was impressed by his dragon and shrimp tempura rolls. They also have Japanese sodas - a huge plus. I had a shrimp noodle dish that featured super fresh veggies and slightly over cooked udon noodles. I enjoyed my dish too. The server was good too. I would go back if I want a pre or post movie meal again. Much more economical and filling than theatre fare.

It's located in a plaza and it's a small, cozy spot; there were about 7 tables. I don't think they accept reservations. We went on Saturday for dinner, there were a group of about 15 to 20 and then my family. I was glad we were able to get a table for 4! The service was great! Food came out fast too. My kids had the chicken katsu with fries which they enjoyed. My husband had the sashimi platter and Philly roll, which he said was fresh and tasty. I ordered 3 sushi rolls: Dragon Roll- it had crispy tempura shrimp, avocado wrapped in sushi rice and nori seaweed; it was topped with eel sauce and sesame seeds. Shrimp Tempura Roll- which had Tempura Shrimp, Avocado, Cucumber, Tobiko, and Homemade Eel Sauce Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll- fresh minced tuna, seaweed, rice, and I believe popped rice to make it crunchy Honestly, all delicious. I couldn't find a negative. The sushi were fresh and innovative. The menu had so many delicious options that I wanted to try all of it in one sitting, if I was a rich sumo wrestler lol. Yes, it's worth the hype and I'll be back soon!

I repeat told me to hurry up and order because the kitchen closes at three. Talk about pressure! So I ordered miso soup, a devil roll, and a Pepsi. So as I'm sitting in my booth, waiting for the food to be prepared, and I was keeping an eye on the sushi, chef, he sneezed. OK, I hope he wiped his hands and none of that crap went into the sushi roll he was making. Anyways, out came the soda and the miso soup. The miso soup was served in a plastic bowl about 3/4 of the way up. Also included was a plastic soup spoon. Looking around, this place was decent inside. Why would they be serving in plastic bowls with plastic utensils? This made no sense but OK. Out came the devil roll, and it looked like sushi, except it had this weird red spam like texture stuff on the top of it. I had no clue what it was. I ate it, but it was barely edible and seeing it was 14.95 , I wasn't about to send it back. So the two waitresses kept staring at me like saying hurry up hurry up hurry, hurry hurry And all my 65+ years on this earth I never felt so rushed.. These waitresses were not friendly. As soon as I was finished it looked like the manager, came over and immediately cleaned the table. She didn't give me the best looks either. Anyways, the food was decent the price decent, but the help, be prepared to be attacked by soup Nazis This definitely won't be a place I'll return to. Manners, Sushi House, manners!

The husband-and-wife team runs a tight ship -- warm, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. We're usually able to walk in and grab a seat right away, and we're almost always greeted with hot green tea -- a simple touch that sets the tone. The space is quiet and intimate, with an understated, austere décor and seating for about 20-22 guests, which adds to the charm. I've been ordering the Waikiki Rainbow Roll for years -- it never disappoints. The Dragon and Rainbow rolls are superb, and the Birthday Roll (a tuna and avocado roll topped with salmon) is excellent. The Naruto Maki -- crab meat, shrimp, tuna, salmon, and masago wrapped in lettuce -- is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. My son loves the Kimchi Mandu and the spicy ramen (be warned -- it's truly spicy and a very generous portion!). Even the miso soup stands out as especially flavorful. Much of the menu reflects what I love most about sushi: simplicity done exceptionally well. The nigiri and sashimi are clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. We'll continue returning several times a week for the outstanding service, professionalism, and the simple goodness of the food. A true local gem.
