This was my first time here and I thought it was a great lunch option. You receive a small form where you write your name, preference of steamed rice brown rice or fried rice, and table number. Take the form and your bowl to the back where the ingredients are, stack the ingredients into the bowl, add your seasonings and sauces, then hand off to the chef. They will bring it to your table. We were quickly seated, the tray line was nice and tidy, and the food came out pretty fast as well. Love the experience and enjoyed my food.
This is a great place for lunch or dinner. It's pretty simple. You select a rice (steamed or fried), fill up a bowl with whatever meats and vegetables you like, add your choice of spices and sauce. They cook it and bring it piping hot to your table. I have been there a few times and each time it was delicious. Nice staff, clean dining area. Fair prices for what you get.
Wife wanted to try this place for a Mothers Day meal. We both got bowls, my son wanted the ramen, and we tossed on a sushi roll just because. All of it was very good with plenty leftover to take home. The wife really liked the place. I imagine we will return
I've been meaning to check out this restaurant for awhile and finally got to it. I went with a group of 5. The dinning area felt clean. The buffet where you made your bowl was also clean and well stocked. There were so many different meat selections. I did some pork belly, pork, shrimp, chicken and beef. I had also added in a few veggies, some noddles and the two eggs on the side. You put your sauce on the side in little cups. Food was cooked up quickly. It was delivered at different times which met it was fresh, but could be awkward for a group. My food was delicious and I had so much left over. The staff was super friendly and on top of everything. My friends I went with go to the west side location a lot and love that too. Can't wait to come back.
I really like that I can pick anything I want and choose any sauce I like, and they'll stir-fry it all together in a short amount of time. The process is quick, but the food always turns out so good and full of flavor. Portions are generous, and most of the time I end up having leftovers for the next day, which is a nice bonus. Everything tastes fresh and cooked just right. Overall, it's a great option if you want something fast, customizable, and satisfying, especially when you're in the mood for a hearty meal.
It's just as the name suggests - YUMMY! A great deal - $12 for a build your own stir fry bowl. It was a wonderful place to go for lunch with my family after some shopping at castleton mall. Highly recommend!
Atmosphere was upbeat and well decorated. Noise from the stirfry area is a tiny bit noisy but not unexpected given the food genre. Service was amazing, server was extremely nice and did her best to make sure everything was completed when asked. I got a fill your own bowl with chicken, noodles, fried rice, teriyaki sauce,broccoli, egg, carrots, and onions. I did my best to fill to the top and they had no problems with the cooking part. 5-10m of cooking and it came out delicious. No raw meat and deliciously flavored. Definitely recommend coming back! I have coworkers that come every 2 to 3 weeks and I can't blame them!

The bowl I made was delicious. I needed to add more sauce. I was weirded out by the number of people who 1. Didn't use sanitizer 2. Touch tongs with their hands trying to get the food off 3. Touch their face and nose while getting food They should throughout the day take all tongs by for a refresh and move the sanitizer and add a sign to have people make a conscious decision not to use.
You can select rice, noodles, veggies, meats and sauces to make your Yummy Bowl. (Tip: heap your bowl with goodies!) What is not to love about this restaurant when it is cooked fresh!
Our first time here and will be back! The concept is a great way to try several dishes and foods. Service was quick and food was tasty! Only confusion was pricing but still a good value. $14.99 for whatever you can fit in the bowl. We will definitely be a regular. Just found out there are several around the city! I'm hopeful for one to be built in Westfield area!
Yummy bowl is an Asian/Hibachi restaurant conveniently located near the Castleton Mall. We ate here for the first time tonight & loved it!! We both had the build your own yummy bowl and we also got a sushi roll to split. The sushi alone would have brought me back, but the hibachi was 10/10 as well! The hibachi buffet had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meat, and seafood. Everything was fresh! I tried just about all the seafood and I enjoyed it all. They had a good selection of seasonings/sauces as well. The restaurant is open concept with large sized booths & tables to accommodate large groups. Very casual atmosphere. Prices were not bad at all. We were expecting our bill to be a lot more than it was! We also appreciated that we were given a little slip with hibachi instructions when we were seated. We were worried we weren't going to know how the hibachi works, so this helped a lot:-) Our only complaint was that the service was kind of slow. We had to flag down our waitress to order the sushi roll and then again for our bill, but was a very minor inconvenience! I look forward to coming back:-)
I stopped by Yummy Bowl with my coworkers to grab a bite to eat at lunch. There is a parking lot outside, so that shouldn't be an issue. Inside, it's spacious and clean. I was somewhat confused on how the ordering works, but I was told to let the attendant take my order, then go over to get my food, and come back and pay (we did take out). When doing take out, you pay by the pound. I grabbed my protein and veggies of choice along with the sauces, and gave them to the cooks. I then waited and when I was told it was ready I paid fory food. Being that I was paying by the pound, I didn't agree with how the rice was incorporated into my price. With no prior knowledge of the rice amount, I felt that can jack the price up a lot. Also, it was yellow rice, which I was not expecting. I ended up spending almost $20 for my bowl and an order of crab ragoons. Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with my order asy food was burnt. It seemed they didn't clean the grill well. I ended up throwing most of it away. The crab ragoons were just okay as well. Maybe it was a bad day, but I don't know if I'd return after this experience.

My Yummy Bowl was very YummyLicious as always, service was second to none as always., the surroundings was very positive and uppa beat as always and the music was for perfect for the ambiance!!! I give 5's easily!!! read more
This trip was better than last because I had a better server and my parents were able to to explain how it worked. Pretty decent idea because you get to pick what you want and how much of it. This server explained it is one price for a bowl no matter what you put in it. The only time they charge by weight is for To go. You can also skip the bowl and just order off the regular menu. After you fill your bowl, the chefs cooks it; adds your choice of rice, if picked, and the servers bring to you. The food stays steaming hot in the bowl and everything was delicious. There are a bunch of sauces and spices that can be added and tiny spoons so you can taste the sauces. They have water, soda, tea and alcohol options available. There is a parking lot and Castleton mall is right across the street. read more
I can't get enough of this Mongolian stir fry! I had a place I would go all the time when I lived in west Lafayette but hadn't found a place in Indy until here. When I was pregnant this was one of the only cravings I would get that had to be satisfied right when I got it. I even went a few times by myself because I couldn't get it off my mind. The service has been great whether I've ate in or taken it to go. I highly recommended checking out one of their many locations around Indy and the surrounding areas. read more

Yummy Bowl is all I can say! It's yummy The first time I went I didn't understand the full experience. One of the other patrons explained to me what to do and how to do it. I'm hooked! I normally go for take out but did take my niece and we decided to enjoy the experience. The only issue that I have is that most of the employees do not speak english. I believe my yummy bowl was smaller eating inside that my to go order but you live and you learn. Delicious and I will continue to support read more

Our ladies night group decided to try out Yummy Bowl! It was quite the experience. Reservations were not needed for our group. I had called in a month prior to bringing our group and they said, just come in and we will accommodate your group. They pushed tables together for us. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our groups many questions. Only 1 from our group had been prior to know how to order. We were all learning the process together. The server took our drink order first and then placed cards on our table. You write your name on the card, pick your rice (fried, white, or brown) and table #. Then you take your card and bowl up to the window and start filling up your bowl with veggies (broccoli, onions, jalapeños, zucchini, etc) then you add protein to your bowl, (chicken, bacon, sausage, shrimp, etc) I wasn't sure if I was allowed to put multiple meats in my bowl. I was trying to watch others and see what they were placing in their bowls. I could not believe how some individuals stacked their bowls like it was a Jenga game until their bowl was so high and food items fell over like a tall mountain. I had requested my rice to be on the side. I also learned that there were eggs at the food bar for the fried rice. But, I didn't get it for my fried rice, so now I know. I learned a lot from the first go around. Your bowl is $14 and then they added gratuity for our group, which was to be expected. I look forward to going back with more knowledge and the challenge of adding more food items into my bowl. They do offer bottomless bowls for an up charge around $4, I believe. I also, learned if you didn't finish your bowl, you could take your leftovers home with you. Which I just wasn't sure the rules for my first visit. It was quite the experience and we enjoyed ourselves! I cannot wait to take my husband here and other friends! My favorite sauce was the Thai chili- sweet and spicy. Ok this was delicious! Never been here before and it's been a few years since had Mongolian BBQ. Service was delightful and super helpful. She explained the process so was easy to understand. We both had the basic bowl. You can load up as much as you want. Cooking was fast. Food was delicious and couldn't eat it all. Will definitely eat here again read more
This is the new Mongolian barbecue. For about $12, you can fill a bowl on the buffet line and have the cooks prepare your food on the flattop grill. For an additional $4, you can do all-you-can-eat (You don't have to decide at the beginning. You can add all-you-can-eat after your 1st bowl.). There is a wide variety of proteins, vegetables, noodles, and sauces that you can choose from. Every bowl also comes with white rice, brown rice, or fried rice too. (You mark your name, type of rice, and table # on a card which you leave with the cooks so they know which order is yours.) read more

Second time visiting this location . The food is delicious and quick. I usually come around lunch during the weekday so it hasn't been busy. No long waits. Server will bring your drink to the table and give you a card to fill out. You can select one out of the three different types of rice with your bowl. You will bring your card up to the chef and pick your items. So many selections to choose from. The food is then delivered to your table within mins. It's a great spot to grab lunch. There's additional items you can buy like sushi etc but I find the bowl is a large amount without adding other food items. I usually have food leftover to take home. read more

I've been waiting for Mongolian grill in Indy! It is very common and easy to find in west coast, but here not so much so I was happy to find Yummy Bowl. Fun fact, despite the name, this style of food is not actually Mongolian, it was created by a Taiwanese restauranteur. At time of this review, on weekends the dinner price applies which is $13.99 a bowl. If you wanna go unlimited it is $17.99. The bowl isn't big but they do serve it with rice so it was enough for me. I was excited to see white fish and salmon. Vegetables included zucchini, Napa cabbage, onions, mushrooms etc. there were many things. I was disappointed that the mussels were there, although there was a label for it (said it was dinner only, and I was there for dinner) From the time I left my bowl to when I received the cocked food, it was a little less than 15 minutes. This place was busy. I loved how you can choose from white, brown and fried rice. This place is not just Mongolian grill, they have a full extent of sushi and appetizer menu. All the Mongolian grill places I've been to, they only had appetizers, so it's great they serve sushi too. Will be back read more
Fantastic food! My girlfriend's a bit obsessed with this place now. We'd driven by it a thousand times, but didn't think to try it until we were invited to a party there. The staff are friendly and the food is as good as you want to make it. If you're unfamiliar with this style of barbecue, you fill a bowl with the meats, veggies, and sauces you want from a buffet line. Then they grill it and throw it on rice for you. So it's on you if you like the dish! Remember that they'll add rice even if you grab noodles in the buffet unless you tell them. Ambiance is a bit busy and cluttered. But other than that, it's a fun experience. read more
Came for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was packed! That's when you know a place is going to be good. Walking in the restaurant's ambiance is a little unassuming, but the food definitely makes up for it. Our waitress was so bubbly and fun, I wish her got her name but she made the experience great. The concept here is you pay $14 to fill up a bowl as much as you want. I like that the rice options come on the side so it doesn't waste space in your bowl, I wish you could do that for the noodles too because I wanted the udon which took up most of the bowl. But you really can't mess up at this place and if you don't like the food it's on you because you basically construct it yourself lol. Honestly I was just dumping random stuff together that would sound good, and it turned out fire. I loved all the sauce options, and there were lots of seasoning options too although I thought it was weird they were straight up in the containers they come in from like Costco, I feel like they could put them into their own shakers and it was also hard to grab because it was under those plastic shields. Not sure if I overdid it on the sauces or if it was because my food was cooked on same grill as meats I don't eat, but I did get a stomach ache after, but honestly it was worth it lol. The portions end up being a lot more than I expected from one bowl, I had enough for a whole other dinner the next day! Really love this place and can't wait to come back. read more
Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. We were immediately greeted and seated. I chose an appetizer of spicy crab. It was good. Next up...diy bowls. After selecting fried rice on my card, I got in line to select my veggies and meats. This was my first visit, but it was pretty easy to get the hang of it. I did have some temperature concerns about the raw meat in the lineup, but helpfully the health department and the restaurant are on top of it. When I got to the seasoning, more came out than I expected and I thought I had ruined my bowl. But once cooked, it was really good. Not over seasoned at all. I really enjoyed my meal. I ended up taking the sushi to go as the bowl was very filling and I couldn't finish all of it either. To go boxes are provided. Nice addition to the Castleton area. read more
You really cannot beat the price per meal at this place! You get to fully customize your Mongolian bowl all the way down to the seasoning, which is amazing for picky eaters. I love being able to try the sauces before committing to any of them as well. As of January 2024, it is $14.99 to build a bowl and if you want another one you can just add $4 for another bowl, but please note you cannot take anything to go if you order all you can eat!! I made that mistake (although, the first time the server gave me a take-out box). Make no mistake though, when you build your bowl people PILE their bowls up. I mean those bowls have towering meat on top of them. It is well worth the price if you arent afraid to stack it high! We love popping in here for a quick bite to eat! read more
I went to Yummy Bowl for the first time this week and have been wanting to go back every day since! I chose the make-your-own-bowl option and there were so many raw veggies, meats, seafood, and sauces to choose from--which they then cook for you and bring to you at your table. I also got extra yum yum sauce on the side. The portion size was great--you can fit a lot in/on top of that little bowl! I was able to get 2 meals out of my bowl and felt full both times. I would love to go back soon and make my own bowl and also try their sushi! Highly recommend if you're a fan of stir fry. Xoxo, Is this thing on? read more

First time ever trying Yummy Bowl and let me just say I was very satisfied. From the moment I walked into the restaurant to the moment I walked out. The service was great along with it being a very clean environment. I feel that you get a lot of food for the price that you pay. Also I loved the whole create your own bowl method that this place has going on. You will not be disappointed with trying this place out. read more
