Went on my birthday! Felt like a kid in a candy store. Their selection can't be beat. Their nuts are amazing as is the fudge. Took a trip down memory lane with all the nostalgic candies. Such fun! They do mail order too but I tried that and sent a bunch of stuff as a gift and boy did they mess up and sent someone else's order. When I asked for them to send the order I actually place it turned into a nightmare. So stick to shopping in person-for now. read more

Unbelievable! If Yummies Candies & Nuts doesn't have it, it probably can't be had, and you wouldn't want it! They stock just about every style and flavor sweet treats imaginable, or at least it sure looks that way! Also an enormous variety of shelled and unshelled nuts are on hand. I spent WAY too much money here, the day I went (not that prices are outrageously high, they're not). I just bought far more than I should have. Something like that. Swing open that door, and get ready for a wonderland of... stacks? Winding aisles in a space smaller than you'd imagine flexing square after square of carefully packaged, evenly weighted sugar bombs. But that's it, and for some confusing reason, I was left slightly jaded by the entire experience. Candy belongs in bins, with shovels and disarray and chocolate waterfalls and juvenile anarchy and non-uniform displays. Instead, we have perfectly inventoried Mike & Ikes and rank & file Runts. Almost every bag is $3, which makes budgeting your fatness pretty dang easy. The crazy shaped chocolates, on the other hand, are what they are: priced by funkiness, not weight. Why is the 4oz solid milk computer the same price as the 3oz milk aspirin? Is there no cocoa justice in this sucraverse? Love the Pez wall, and the occasional throwback sweet. You know those bookstores where the used books are stacked vertically to the ceiling in the halls and staircases; it's like that but with candy. The managers are very tall probably a job requirement to stock the highest bins. They are also very cuddly...probably, I mean the work with sugar. Seriously though. Still one of the coolest candy stores anyway and brings out the 8 year old in me, but the awesome looking peanut brittle near the front entrance turned out to be pretty lame - the "brittle" itself was too soft and mushy and tasted too buttery. I don't know how to describe Yummies other than dying and going to candy heaven. Literal wall to wall of nearly every candy you can think of, lots of old fashioned candies, gift candies and some souvenirs. They have a chocolate counter as well. My favorites are the chocolate covered blueberries or cranberries, peanut butter malted balls and the various assortment of twizzler type twists such as chocolate or pina colada! They have so many old school candy favorites too. There is something for everyone here! My photos are a few years old now, but I've been back many times and it's still awesome. A little expensive & adds up quickly if you're stocking up, I could easily spend a lot of money here. It's so worth every penny though! I definitely & highly recommend stopping in! read more

Wow, they sell candy you can buy at Walmart or a grocery store and they put into little baggies - cool. worst part is the lack of room in the store, there's no traffic flow and you literally get trapped in narrow isles of candy. With a crowd in there, like in the summer, it can get brutal. My nephew and myself got hockey checked and trapped in a corner by people who were in such a frenzy it's like they had never seen candy before. wtf? read more

Yummies is candy overload, a crowded (but neatly organized) store filled with of all types of candy. It's a bit overwheming at first as every aisle is filled top-to-bottom with candy, but it was fun to walk around and we bought a couple of bags of chocolate. I'm giving it three stars as most of the candy is "bagged by Yummies" which means that they are buying candy in bulk, putting them into smaller bags, and selling them (not homemade). The chocolate covered peanuts had only half a peanut in each one as well, so I question the value. And hey, enough with the passive aggressive signs all over the place showing a baby and wording like "don't let them mess the store up." I get that the owner probably has OCD as everything is perfectly arranged, but man, there's no need to see that baby's face everywhere you turn. read more

Yummies has every kind of candy known to humanity. This place has candy from the floor to the ceiling. You can't even go in because there is too much candy overflowing out the door. You can only drool all over the windows looking at the candy so bring a squeegee to clean up after yourself you slob. The toilet is full of candy. They have giant gingerbread people working there. You can eat them if you are strong enough to subdue them and don't mind the screaming. Get the picture? I highly suggest bringing kids with you when you go because there is nothing funnier than watching young children freak the F out at the sight of EVERY kind of sweet in the world. They will want to buy everything in the store. If you say no they will try to stab you with a Pez dispenser, probably the one that looks like Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars because not even a kid cares if he breaks a Jar Jar Binks toy. I let the kids pick out everything they wanted for like an hour then pretended to forget my wallet back in Boston. The look of utter horror & shock on their faces reminded me of The movie Anne Frank when she thought the Nazi's had discovered her families hiding place. Here is a fraction of what Yummies has: Jelly Belly's of every flavor, Everything you can think of covered in chocolate including things you would never think of like chocolate covered orange peels (seriously) and giant palmetto bugs (JK), They even have chocolate covered chocolate which is ridiculous but who am I to judge, taffy, candy bars you thought were extinct like Zagnuts and Charleston Chews, Almond Bark, Butter Crunch, Taffy..... You get it. EVERYTHING!!!!!!! We were all so hopped up on sugar on the ride home I had to tie everyone up and put them in the trunk. The toll lady was like, " Who's screaming in the trunk?" Be forewarned..if you aren't on camera..you have a member of the staff basically watching you like a hawk-they are quite un-friendly and not at all customer service focused. I've seen them yell at customers - really? Is that any any way to treat your paying customers - I think not! Get your candy and leave as quickly as possible before they turn their sights on you. There might not be a word in the English language that describes how wonderful Yummies is. I came to Yummies for the first time this past Saturday, and I was in a whole new world of nostalgia and fun. Right on Route 1, Yummies has a nice little parking lot just past the main drag of outlets. Inside is a tight packed store filled to the ceiling with any piece of candy you could possible imagine. They also have a wall of nuts and other snacks such as Wasabi Peas. There is so much candy in here, you might get a sugar high from walking around! I picked out some of my childhood favorites like Wax Bottles, Candy Cigarettes, and gummi Coke Bottles. I also grabbed some dark chocolate sea salt caramels, root beer barrels, and Bertie Bots every flavor jelly beans (despite being Harry Potter obsessed as a kid, I never had them before!). Despite walking out with a bag that was way more filled than it should have been (did ya know sugar isn't that great for you?) I only spent about $35 which I thought was wonderful. The prices are just right, and you can escape from life for a few minutes and remember how sweet (pun intended) childhood really was. read more

The store that 10 out of 10 Dentist don't recommend to their patients... However, I am a sugar addict and Yummies is the perfect score for your sweet tooth. I was on a day trip and caught the sign out of the side mirror of the car. I have heard about this place but thought it was just a myth like the tooth fairy, easter bunny and free beer tomorrow. I made a quick U-turn to make sure that Yummies wasn't just a mirage like water on the road during a hot summer day. This store is small and busting at the seams with candy galore of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The candy comes in all shapes and sizes. It comes in big bags, small bags and single serves. Filled with so much candy you're liable to get diabetes by just looking at the place too long, Yummies is jammed floor to ceiling with delicious sugary goodness. Prices are reasonable and the candy selection is immense. It gets extra points in my book because they are one of the extremely few places that still sell candy cigarettes in our overprotective day and age. The place only gets four stars because it can get very crowded as there isn't much aisle space. read more

I just went here today and it was SO awesome! It's just basically a candy story but it has really interesting candy of all kinds! I personally got some liquor candy and some chocolate covered gummy bears- both were DELICIOUS! I went in hungry, which was a mistake because I wanted to eat EVERYTHING! A must-stop on Route 1. It's always fun to take someone who's never been before and to watch the expression on his or her face. It's not cheap, but it's not too expensive either. I always check out the gummy candies and the chocolates; the dark chocolate-overed pretzels and the dark chocolate nonpariels are my favorites. My parents got a bunch of candy when we stopped here, and I bet that candy sustained them on their trip back to Ohio. It's best to go here on the weekdays, when it's not as crowded. Even if there are only a couple of people there, though, it's still tight because the store is small and packed with candy. I do wish they would take out some of the Maine souvenir stuff in the front and use that space either for roomier aisles or for more candy. I've never seen anyone looking at it, let alone buying it. read more

It's easy to go overboard with all the pretty candies wrapped in shiny plastic bags - there are so many choices, I had to circle the store multiple times to see it all. I made the mistake of grabbing a shopping basket, and found myself throwing in candies I had never really liked just because I remembered them from my childhood. After putting back some of the impulse buys, I ended up spending about $20 for about 2.5 lbs of candy. Kind of pricey. One of the best ways to save at Yummies is to only buy the bulk candy, not the individually wrapped candies. A Cadbury egg was $0.99, and if you stalk the check out lines at supermarkets every spring until they arrive, you KNOW they're usually $0.50 each (sometimes even 3 for $1). Keep your wits about you, and don't let the sugar weave a blindfold in front of your eyes. read more

I have shopped at this store for over 30 years but, after the rude treatment we received this past summer I will never go there again. I was buying Jelly Belly jelly beans with my 2 young grandsons and I let them try a few ... still spent over $16 even with the 9 that they tried. I was YELLED at by an employee who accused us of stealing candy for 10 minutes ... I apologized, paid (and asked the clerk to add some money to my purchase) and left the store. The 9 that they ate came to .34 oz. and I am sending the store a check for 21 cents to cover that cost. (Looking at my photos we were out of our car a total of 11 minutes so we weren't stealing for 10.) Reading some other reviews here, I see that I am not the only one who has experienced bad employee attitudes. It's sad because the story has so much to offer. read more

Yummies is the best place in the world to find the candy you want. I have been going to this place for years because of their selection and because they have the best gummies ever. Especially the gummy cherry bunches...they are orgasmic. The store is on the far end of Kittery outlet road but is worth the extra gas to get there. Oh, Yummies. So many kinds of candy, so close to diabetes. They've got EVERYTHING. Bins of taffy. Retro/hard to find candy. Chocolates. Nuts. Dried fruit. Pez Pez Pez. All manners of gummy. You'd be hard-pressed to visit Yummies and not find what you're looking for. I've been here a few times, but my most recent visit was on our way up to Belfast, ME for vacation. We wanted to stop in and pick up some treats for the week. Somehow, we managed to keep it to only a handful of things, but it was hard. I chose some honeycomb molasses (like the inside of a Crunchie bar!), Brach's nougats (when's the last time you saw those??) and some Zotts. Yummies is like a federal reserve vault for candies located on Route 1 just north of all the outlets. They have all sorts and types here from classic and forgotten treats through the modern stuff. The inside is pretty small and can get uncomfortable crowded on weekends, but it's filled floor to ceiling with bags full of candies you didn't realize they made anymore, to ones you've forgotten about, with a small selection of cheesy tourist gifts.
