The Service requested was non existent. There is no quality, professionalism, followup, and certainly no value in doing business with this company what so ever. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see in almost all of the reviews that the owner, Shane or such is a complete zero and that some woman in his office defends every bad comment about him. We bought a home that Shane sold cool decking to. He outright lied to her about what he would do. The coating was coming off almost immediately. He tried blackmailing her to continue service with him or he wouldn't fix. She didn't fall for it. When I purchased the home less than a year later and thought I'd try from scratch to talk to the guy he started in with what a nut she was and he would only help me if I started doing business with him. Turned out, Shane & Co. did no prep or finish work... there was no pre treating of the decking, no primer and no sealer. Attached pics show the mess his work created and the nightmare his work left behind. Long story short I thought I'd give it another shot, the office promised Shane would call me right back..... 3 weeks later he called and started his B.S. so I hung up and blocked him. In that time frame we contracted with a reputable pool decking and coating company and they have repaired, put down new decking and coating and sealed the job properly. I hated what it looked like with what Shane had left but now that we know what a good job looks like it's quite different. Just wait, The office will defend his horrible business...... the guy has a screw loose and needs to be sued...... just beware!!!! The office seems to think this has something to do with wanting free work when I simply called to try and schedule with Shane. When he decided to call and point fingers 3 weeks later we had already contracted and had the work completed by professionals. My pool was built by another contractor, after having bad experience with them and their crappy service I decided to go with Shane and his company. Shane and I met in person at my home and we talked about what I wanted and expected from them. So since 2021 I have been using Yuma Pool Service and we are very happy. I can call Shane or Janalyn directly and always get an answer. They have been very professional and helpful. Always take care of any concerns I have or any additional things I need. Lier! Lier! Pants on Fire!!! Janalyn, the manager, and the various guys who clean the pool are fine. My complaint is with Shane Darnell, owner of Yuma Pool Services. I am 81 I think I have excellent mental faculties, but boy, did I screw up when I did not get everything in writing I I just wrote a letter to the Registrar of Contractors of Arizona; the "cool coat" around the pool, which was installed in 2003, had begun to crumble into small pieces +! It needed to be replaced. Shane told me it would cost $10,000.00. He replaced it in Fall of 2022 In the spring of 2023, I took off a coin size dab of paint. Shane was going to fix it, but he didn't. When I listed my home for sale this summer, I declared that I had had the cool coat replaced. Professionals informed me it had been patched and painted only, not applied a new cool coat. Shane said the reason it didn't last a few months is because, among everything else, I had gotten it wet, and the doggies had pottied on it, which had not been a in the prior six years. A second lie Shane told me was that he had told me II didn't have a saltwater pool. I had paid to have a saltwater pool. He said he told me something broke and that he called me ( although I was in hospital having surgery). It cost $3-5 thousand to make once again it sk I made major mistakes in dealing with Shane. I used Yuma pool service for a few years w so many issues from them ! firstly I suggest if your going to use this company have cameras over seeing your pool because they will scam you so bad in saying they cleaned your pool. but only to have thrown tablets ( chlorine ) in. they won't brush pool sides etc. as well I asked Shane ( owner) to look at a area on step into pool as I kept getting rust. he stayed " it's rebar". and would need to be repaired. I asked how much and he stated $5 k plus. I'm like WTH? he said the whole pool would need to be drained. so I then enquired w him. " why can't you just drain below that step and do said repair?". he gave me some song and dance about because of the chemicals needed to b used no way. so I decided I'll get a few more bids from a honest pool company or 2. and my assumptions were correct. he was as usual just trying to get more $ from me. pool wouldn't have to be drained etc. that's just one issue I've had. but if you have a issue he will send someone out fairly quick. lol because he knows he's gonna somehow fix your issue. but will over charge you a lot to do it. and his mom Jannalynn who runs the office is a real piece of work there just wow. that women needs some serious anger management classes ! I've had to call into office on so many occasions because her pool cleaners wouldn't do a full clean. this company is the main reason I put in cameras. n glad I did. I fired them. I have never in my life have done business w such a shady company in my life ! Its no lie about Yuma Pool Services, real con man rip off artists. It would be in your best interest to stay away from this company. Charged me 4 hours on a 45 minute job, then claims to charge for picking up the items, putting together the item on the way to the destination, and then screwing to couplings together once it got to the destination. Note item was already together when it came out of the box. Then he also charges a miscellaneous fee, stating its for glue use which he never used. Guys taking care of the pool were good people, maybe they should cut away from the company before they tarnish their reputation. Rating it one star only because I have to. read more
