From my very first stay as a brand new rewards member, and 99.99% of the time thereafter, I have been greeted with a "Thank you for being a _________ level rewards member." I always take the time to remark to staff how amazed I am at the consistency of that small gesture. I'm now at the top tier (after four years of patronage) and it is still consistent. I thanked the person for the appreciation and was gifted a little Valentine's Day goodie bag. It had candy in it, sour candy which I am particularly fond of. This location is fairly new or recently renovated - oddly enough the toilet seat was one item showing wear. But carpet, decor, tile, all looked newer. In the dining area, they have the Costa Coffee automatic brewing machines. Those are fairly new addition in some of the properties and it really ups the coffee quality. Yreka also employed one of my favorite condiments, half and half in an insulated pitcher. I don't expect this at small town properties. It is pretty common in Washington and Oregon, where the populace takes their coffee more seriously. So, that was an especially pleasant discovery in the morning. The room was an upgrade to a suite (thank you!) and spacious. Though not a suite in the traditional sense. I didn't really care. It just had a love seat or small couch and coffee table in the room. I had time for breakfast, unfortunately bacon was not offered. So, I selected scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. It was okay. The biscuits were moist, the gravy lukewarm (not a huge fan of sausage gravy) and the fake eggs (I'm sure made from some packaged eggs.) were edible. But the coffee was good, even better with the fresh half and half. All HIEs have a great spread for their complimentary breakfast. Usually something for everyone. Pancake machine, warm cinnamon rolls, cereals, some form of eggs, and a breakfast meat or two, fruit, yogurt, juices etc. If you are ever in Yreka, consider the Holiday Inn Express. It is a good deal and

We had to roll up towels to try to block it from entering our room under the door. Honestly surprised a smoke detector wasn't triggered #2 around 6:00 AM the guests directly above us clearly had kids who proceeded to run back and forth for 2 solid hours....so much for sleeping in. Breakfast staff named Amber is absolutely lovely! Food was typical hotel breakfast.

For the restaurant, the breakfast…read morewas a solid, above average hotel complimentary continental spread with eggs, waffles, and even homemade carrot bread and egg/veg casserole. The dinner was really better than expected but not fine dining. We had several different cuts of steak (sirloin was our winner) , which were nice, a child's grilled cheese, and a delicious Cesar salad complimented with a local Rogue Valley bottle of wine. Fast, friendly service but relaxed and happy to let us take our time. For the hotel, the room has a fireplace with logs provided, so smelled strongly like a camp fire - pro or con depending on one's point of view. The in-room jacuzzi style bath was particularly fun and a highlight! The room is well-worn but in a way that feels almost in theme to the rustic mountain lodge. We've been before and will return again.

The front desk guy was friendly and efficient. We opened the door to our upstairs room and were so excited the floors were new and the horrible carpet was replaced with clean beautiful laminate floor. The bathroom was sparkly clean. Dinner was also redeeming. We had a lovely waiter and the steak was cooked perfectly. We are so glad someone took the time and care to put some special touches back into this amazing place!

Seemed to be super popular with elementary level kiddos. It's just hard to stomach the price tag taxpayers paid while still paying entry to a mediocre, modern facility. Would've been great if it were more along the lines of Wings and Waves in McMinnville- 4 huge slides, big wave pool AND play structure, whirlpool etc. (something for all ages there). Either way it is what it is since they filled in Hawthorne pool and shut down Jackson pool (both of which had awesome diving boards at least, lol). Just kinda MEH here...

I can use the facility almost every day of the year but My goal is twice a week. There is plenty of free parking and the locker rooms/ restrooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. Prices vary depending on where you live your age and if you get a family or individual pass. This is a wonderful addition to the Rogue Valley Southern Oregon area
