Sounds great from reviews but found dead and live bugs in our private booth, and the portions are off for the prices!

The husband and I have been there three times already and it's pretty much consistent: food is great, service is something left to be desired. So far I've had the Spider Roll and Yo Yo Spider Roll. Don't be fooled they're not the same thing and not what you'd expect! The Spider Roll is just deep fried soft shell crab with rice and seaweed (6 pcs). The Yo Yo Spider Roll is more of a production, it's larger in size, has avocado, cucumber, fish roe, green onions and sits on something they call "Special Sauce" (8 pcs) - they go could easy on the sauce, in my opinion. Ultimately, both are good rolls. I just made the mistake of ordering the plain Spider Roll expecting something with avocado - whoops! The husband has ordered the Chicken Katsu Donburi twice already and he's never been disappointed. It's a good portion size and very flavorful. With or without hot sauce, it's delicious. The Tempura Udon soup is also a good portion size. The broth is fantastic. As for the tempura, you get 4 pcs: 2 shrimp, 1 yam, 1 squash. You would think that the tempura wasn't generous, but with the size of the soup, it's the perfect serving. We haven't had a bad meal here and I think that's the only positive I can say about this place. While the service isn't awful, it's not good either. We've been there on on a busy night and we've been there on a quiet night and both scenarios the service was the same: not great. We're often sticking our out heads out of the booths, trying to catch the servers' attention for a refill on water, tea, etc. and their attention is not easy to catch (even on a quiet night) or sometimes they can't be found (even on a quiet night). They don't give attitude but you don't get the warm and fuzzies from them either. My understanding is that they've been in Georgetown for a while (10 years?), so they've a solid client base which maybe is why there's no effort to be warm and fuzzy? Anyway, it's a place I'd definitely recommend JUST for the food, manage your expectations for the service.

Went in with pretty high expectations but left mildly disappointed unfortunately. The service was great and the restaurant itself is beautiful inside. The food itself, however, is where I was left disappointed. The gyoza was just meh and the rolls themselves were nothing special. One of my main issues was just that the ratio of rice to everything else was too big. Too much rice lead to large, unruly pieces where the other ingredients were drowned out and where the pieces would just kind of fall apart. For the price point, I think there are a ton of better options if you're able to get down to the GTA. Won't be returning any time soon.

Yo yO! I've been here a few times in the past 3 years, never leave unhappy. Yo! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very Japanese. With their Japanese decor, Japanese music in the background (its a first for me to hear Japanese music at a Japanese restaurant, what a concept! ) and as well their tight setup...which makes it feel like a downtown Tokyo eatery! great food at Toronto prices* check out some photos I posetd! Yo Yo as well carries a few Korean dishes; like bulgogi and kimchi. if you live in Georgetown and the surrounding area and don't want to drive to Toronto for some authentic Japanese food, give YO YO a try! lates Yo!

A great Japanese restaurant, one of the best that I have experience. Nice staff, great atmosphere, and of course the food is so good. The cost is reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back next time.

This is one of the best places to go in Georgetown for Japanese food / sushi in general. The food is fresh and flavourful, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the service is excellent. Perfect place for food!

Ask the chef for his favorite roll today. This is a great little place, Nothing of course like sushi places on the west coast, but for George Town middle of no where.. it was pretty good.

It wasn't busy when I and my family went for sat lunch. Outside area is not as inviting.. But once you get inside, you'll instantly change your mind. Place looks clean. I saw some private rooms on our way to our table which was in a corner that was awesome for us since we have small kids -being in that spot made it easier to manage them. The appetizer were good. We ordered sashimi and tuna and some calamari. The main entree came in after we finished our salad and soup. The salmon bento I ordered were perfect for my taste. All the entree we ordered were to our satisfaction. It even came with free dessert -sweet oranges that are neatly cut and pleasing to the eyes. Will definitely come back.

LOVE this place! Easily my favourite sushi joint. The interior (pre-Covid days) is so cute and reminds me of the cute streets and restaurants in Kyoto. The sushi here is always super fresh and I'm a huge fan of their Fire Roll (a deep fried spin on a Philadelphia roll). Also a big fan of their karaage and glorious sashimi.

Best Sushi in the area. They are consistently excellent. My family often pushes for a sushi night and Yo-Yo is where it's at.

The sushi is excellent. We love their tatami tables -- they are super fun for the kids and/or for a private for date night.

We asked the gentleman to let us know which had fish sauce, dairy or eggs. He suggested quite a few items and we went with all of them. The buffet on a weekday is reasonably priced specially because we don't any seafood or any meats (or eggs or dairy for that matter). The staff knew which items were not for us was a big plus and made some adjustments and some that he mentioned that he just couldn't - which to us meant a lot as well. Most of the dishes are good. The sushi/roll rice is bit under seasoned from what we are used to. Also the avocado the first time we had was ice cold and the rest were fine. The interior is quite simple and the service was quick and courteous

Before I could even get the money out, the waiter came running back to the table and loudly demanded a tip. He proceeded to publicly berate me in front of my guests and the entire restaurant. I was shocked. Because of his aggressive and unprofessional behavior, I gave him $10 instead of the $80 I had planned. Being the only AYCE sushi in town doesn't give the staff the right to harass customers. This was an embarrassing and hostile experience. I will not be returning.
