Unfortunately, my experience working with him was unprofessional and frustrating. A few examples: I was told that to be included in A.R.T's August calendar, they would need a confirmation and deposit by August 5th. I paid the deposit of $200 on July 31st and submitted my poster along with the blurb by Aug 4th. However, I wasn't included in their newsletter. I had to follow up a couple times by email and phone to remind them to add me to their website. When I visited his store for the first time, he told me I could stop by the store any time I wanted, but when I did stop by, to ask about the lack of signups for my class, he cut me off mid-sentence, made me wait for 15 minutes, and then sent me home without a resolution. I ended up losing $200 on my deposit, which he claims was nonrefundable, despite his not saying so upfront. I would advise anyone considering partnering with A.R.T. to make sure all terms are in writing before making a payment.

However, it is quite fun browsing and shopping locally in the community instead of browsing the internet and giving money to large corporations all time. There's tons of items ranging from NYC/Queens/Jackson Heights-themed products to candles, kitchen supplies, baby clothes, toys, greeting cards, games, and so much more. On my first visit, I was specifically looking for gifts and ended up with 2 coasters (Queens and NYC-themed) as well as a cat-themed dish towel that totaled to around $30, I was certainly a happy shopper. The staff at the front desk was helpful and kind. The shop also has a free rewards program which seemed neat. Look forward to visiting this shop more in the coming months!

The stuff is cute, but there are about a hundred stores in the city that sell the same items for a better price. They must have a big problem with shoplifting because at least three of the staff were patrolling the aisles and watching customers like a hawk. They sell the $60 Labubus so the store was busy, but half the customers put them back on the shelf when they saw the price. I'd say this is a cute place to look at if you're nearby, but do your research on more reasonable options in the city before you spend your money here.

I witnessed another customer try to get her 20% discount for applying to the Michael's credit card. After completing the entire process and getting approve, the cashier told her "We don't honor that policy at this location." Lastly, they don't properly label prices. Beads labeled at $8- $10 on the display ring up at $11- $14 at checkout. This didn't happen once, but the last 6 times I visited this store. it's disappointing that for this being the only arts and crafts store in the area, after putting smaller stores out of busines, that they operate like this. On google the price hikes are blaming inflation and tariffs but Michael's charges $21 dollars for Ranger ink pads, when they are $14 at Ranger's own website.
