YourNextJump helped me to land a great new job with a company that exceeded my expectations. Not only did Tony help with navigating what type of position would be a good step for my long-term goals, their team also went above and beyond to improve my resume. Before, my resume was just okay. It was organized & thorough, but generic. I was not hearing back from the dozens of job postings to which I'd applied. Your Next Jump helped to make my accomplishments stand out. They brainstormed with me how to provide concrete and specific examples of my selected achievements. By highlighting my accomplishment, it boosted my credibility, my perceived value in the market place and made my resume easier to find by recruiters. Their resume writer helped me to understand that the more details you can provide in your resume, the better, because it proves that your skills live up to expectations. Recruiters have commented they love the specificity, and I've had countless companies reach out to me with my new resume from YourNextJump. I feel more confident and comfortable with where my career is headed. Before I was unsure and didn't know how to narrow down my job search. Talking to Tony gave me further clarity in what direction to head and what a reasonable timeline would look like to achieve my long-term goals. He also provided helpful articles on interview tips, cover letter formats and how to find the industry standard for job salaries in my field. All of these tips and suggestions he gave have helped me to move forward in my career instead of staying stagnant, which I felt before. I would highly recommend working with Tony and their team. They are all very kind, generous & wise individuals. They encouraged me in my search & had unique insights into opportunities available within my field. I really appreciated their service and the professionalism of their approach. I am deeply grateful and indebted to them for the help they provided in helping me land an exciting, new opportunity. read more

Tim was an enormous help with my last job search. He had great advice on whether it was time to start looking, and helped me narrow down what I wanted for my next position. He reviewed my resume and had excellent input; Tim helped me sharpen my descriptions of my experience and skills. Perhaps the most significant assistance was Tim's advice on salary negotiation. He suggested what information to share and hold back, helped me understand how companies decide what salaries to offer new hires, and how to increase my value for money their perspective. With Tim's help, I was able to get a new job that was both a promotion and a significant boost in salary. Tim is an excellent career coach and I highly recommend him. read more

I'm the type of person who always has a hard time talking about myself. My resume before working with Tim was a laundry list of jobs I've held back to when I was in college. My resume was unfocused and did not highlight my strengths enough to make it attractive to potential employers. When I lost my job in February and needed help updating my resume quickly I contacted Tim to see what services Your Next Jump offered.Tim provided a comprehensive strategy to improve my resume and LinkedIn. He asked for my resume as is and he started updating it immediately. I had a first draft of my updated resume in no time with comments that asked for clarification on specific job tasks and descriptions. I answered Tim's questions and I had my final draft of my resume ready to send to potential employers. The resume was concise and really distilled my strengths as a person which as I mentioned is where I have the most difficulty. The look and feel of the resume is unlike any of the templates you will find online. It makes sure that I will be remembered by the hiring official in all the ways that matter. Tim also updated my LinkedIn profile. Before contacting Your Next Jump for help I would go on LinkedIn once a year after my annual review and added new tasks or skills. Tim totally revamped my profile using my updated resume and made sure that all the settings on my LinkedIn profile was set properly so that my profile will be visible to the largest number of potential employers. My favorite change to my LinkedIn profile was my profile picture. The previous picture I took in a dark hallway in my work polo during my lunch break with my cellphone camera. Your Next Jump totally one upped my cellphone picture with a professional photo shoot with a 50mm fixed lens to make the profile picture about me. They even provided suggestions about what clothes I should wear to maximize my movie star looks and qualities. After the photo shoot was over Tim touched up the pictures before emailing what he thought were the best photos and asked for my input. His work speaks for itself, https://www.linkedin.com/in/yohanleedc/. Your Next Jump was the perfect career consulting company for me. I trusted them completely to handle everything and they delivered in a big way. If you have a hard time knowing what to put on your resume and your LinkedIn, like I did, they are the professionals you should contact. I need a lot of hand holding when it comes to navigating the job hunting waters. Tim and Tony took the lead and guided me to where I want to be while really listening to what makes me special. I recommend their services to anyone and everyone! read more

Ever been set up on a date, felt apprehensive at first, and then had the time of your life? No? Me neither. But working with Your Next Jump is how I imagine that feels. What an amazing experience! This team provided exceptional service and a resume and LinkedIn profile that flows and provides a professional representation of my experience. Tim, Tony and Ellim went out of their way to work around my busy schedule, even met me at 6am on a Saturday Morning! I'm a 21 year Veteran and they really knew how to translate my Military experience into Civilian terminology that articulates my Leadership and ability to work in challenging environments. 3 interviews since I began collaborating with them! So impressed! read more

I have started to move to the more executive level in my career, and was struggling to keep my resume updated while commanding the right tone and presence for the level of positions I currently hold. I enlisted YNJ's service to help transition my resume from mid-level to a more executive level resume. What I gave them was a resume packed with details and achievements, visually cluttered and almost overwhelming to the eye. They somehow refined the resume, kept all of the powerful content but packaged it in a more compelling style and phrasing. They also adapted the resume to pass through the algorithms used in most hiring platforms and software these days. Once they finalized my resume (which now has a confident, executive level tone), they adjusted my LinkedIn to match. I am so grateful for their service as I not only felt overwhelmed at the prospect of doing this myself amidst my workload, but also needed that extra education of how a more senior level resume should look, and how I could adjust mine to fit the mold. Thank you so much! I am much more confident with my resume and presence, and appreciate your investment in helping me get there. read more

I met Tim and Tony at a Yelp Elite Event where they shared valuable tips on interviewing, resume writing, and how to get the most out of LinkedIn. They also had a professional photographer take headshots for everyone, which was a great perk! I've been telling myself I would get a professional photo to replace my cropped photo from formals for too long now! Now I can put my best professional face forward on LinkedIn and my resume. They offered all attendees a free 15 minute resume consultation and I gladly took them up on the offer. I spoke with Tim and he gave me awesome, actionable feedback on how I could improve both my resume content and formatting. He had great insight on how hiring managers and HR read resumes, what they are looking for, and where they are looking. The phone call was both enjoyable and informative. I will definitely look to YNJ when the time comes for my next big career jump! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Your Next Jump! Tony and his team of professionals did an amazing job of revising my resume and LinkedIn account profile. I have hired other resume builders in the past and must say that YNJ is by far the best in the game. I would absolutely recommend their services to friends and family alike who are looking to put the exclamation point in their resume by distinguishing themselves from the pack. read more

These guys are magic. I was so frustrated in the job search after graduating. The guidance and service YNJ gave me was incredible. Although I am multi industry--after working with them, I ended up landing several jobs in all the industries I was passionate about which is insane. These jobs not only met, but exceeded all my expectations and helped me to develop even more skills. I first lucked out with 2 jobs in the film industry that married my love of film with social justice and allowed me to utilize my outreach skills. Then I ended up landing a job in art and humanities that perfectly fit my art background and major. I couldn't be more thankful for the experience I've gained and the amazing opportunities I've had since working with YNJ!! The head shots were fantastic in helping to refine my online presence!! The resources and advice YNJ provides you with are huge game changers!! They gave me perspective on the job market and on how to be most effective/strategic in how I approach the job search as well as the application process. I actually worked with them almost a year ago but once I got some traction, things moved so fast in the work world that it took me all this time to come back and properly write a review! I highly highly highly recommend their services! If you're wondering whether or not to hire them, the answer is a triple YES. read more

As a "digital immigrant" as opposed to "digital native," I was somewhat daunted by the job hunt when re-entering the work force after a short sabbatical. I was applying to jobs and coming up with absolutely no leads. I did a ton of research on how to write the perfect resume from all that Google had to offer and applied what I thought to be the best tips in the business and got nada. That's when I found Your Next Jump. Man, what a life changer! My new resume presents my accomplishments in a way that brings all my experiences together and better shows a progression in responsibility and competency. They helped bring order to a pretty varied work history and helped me tailor it to a position in a different field. Definitely not a cookie cutter operation. They showed me how to figure out what employers are looking for, and how to tailor my resume for a specific position. I really wish that I hadn't wasted my time on the front end and had just found them sooner. To put it into perspective, the first three months I was applying to jobs, I didn't get a single response. The week after I finished with YNJ, I got offered interviews at my top five options. I interviewed at a couple and had a great job within two weeks. Tony was super encouraging, and the rest of the team was really responsive even when I had TONS of questions after I got a first draft of my resume back. Super easy to get a hold of, really quick turnaround, and very personal service. read more

Both Tim and Tony have been such a valuable help for me and my family since 2010 when my wife secured her first professional position at a real estate company. In 2011 Tim helped me secure a very high paying part-time job that significantly improved my graduate school experience. Tony has also given me valuable "pep talks" of encouragement at timely moments during my career transitions when I have been discouraged. I owe it to Tim and Tony for helping me find the patience needed for pursuing my dreams and making them an economically viable reality. Between the two of them, their text messages, impromptu phone calls, resume editing, and interview coaching haven proven to be vital counsel to me over the past 6 years. Highly recommended. read more

My son's experience with Your Next Jump has been outstanding.  His resume went from average to the highest quality in today's standards - they keep up-to-date on what employers are looking for in the resume.  Tim gave him great tips on how to network and use LinkedIn and provided him with spreadsheets to keep track of internships he has applied for and his professional network.  He feels much more energized to start applying for internships than he did before he began working with YNJ. read more

Tim and Tony are excellent at what they do and also both very personable. I was completely satisfied with their service and would recommend them to any who are looking to make a career change. When I decided to seek for help in updating my resume I came here at Yelp and found YNJ. I had a meeting with Tim and Tony and immediately wanted to work with them. They were extremely friendly and professional. I got my resume and LinkedIn profile done through YNJ and I'm very happy with the results. The documents were great and helped me to feel more comfortable and confident to find a new job. Tim was really prompt in responding to my emails and listened to any revisions I wanted on the drafts. He made sure to understand what exactly I did and presented the best way possible. I enjoyed working with them; I intend to keep working with them for my next steps in my career. read more

My experience with Your Next Jump was mixed, but ended well. On the positive side, I think my resume turned out pretty good, and it's definitely an improvement over what I had done on my own. Also, because I was dissatisfied with the process and especially the time it took, Tim went above and beyond, and actually waived the fees. It was a real solid move on his part. My complaint had been mostly about the time it took to get edits back and some lack of follow-through on commitments made by YNJ. This all happened in April 2017. Once I initiated service and sent my resume for review and edits, I didn't hear anything and had to follow up twice before getting a revised version two weeks later. The changes that were made simply shouldn't take two weeks to do. It was a couple of hours worth of work, max. But there were a few more rounds of edits still to be done that also took too long, and in the end it took a month to get a version I could comfortably call 'final'. Unemployed and worried about cash flow, I couldn't afford to wait a whole month to start applying to jobs. And then it took a while longer to get my LinkedIn account touched up by YNJ, so six weeks in total, though some of the delays in the last two weeks were on me. I also was frustrated with the in-person meeting with Tony. He was only available on weekday evenings (not weekdays, and not weekends), and only near George Mason, which is a nightmare to get to during rush hour from other parts of the greater DC area. Tim had told me I'd have an hour and a half in-person with Tony, but Tony had only scheduled a one-hour window. I was 35 mins late due to traffic, but instead of having the remaining 55 mins I had expected, I got 25 minutes of Tony's time before his next client came. The experience left me feeling that YNJ is a side-gig for Tim and Tony, which I'm sure it is, and for my experience, it showed. That said, Tim heard these complaints and waived my fees entirely, so really I can't complain. He asked me to share my story on Yelp. read more

Tim & Tony were a pleasure to work with. They take time to genuinely understand your situation and lay out realistic options for career paths/changes. Navigating the job market after grad school can be challenging but Your Next Jump made the process feel simple. I am very impressed with the service I received from YNJ. I cannot speak to how effective their service is for mid-career professionals or those with 20 or 30 years of experience, but for me, the work that Ellim, Tony, and Tim accomplished was great, because I'm in a place where I need to get my foot in the door, and I was presenting myself the wrong way. My resume was less of a sales document, and more of a list of job duties. A list of job duties might suffice if you're aiming for a janitor position (which I was for five years), but for anything else, it's really important to have a sales-oriented approach to self presentation, when it comes to employers. I feel that my resume and LinkedIn profile are much more concise and impactful than they were before. Pretty much, my resume looks the exact opposite now of what it looked like before. The relevant accomplishments and competencies that relate to my intended career are listed at the top, while more recent roles that are less relevant are listed at the bottom. While I understand the critiques of resumes that don't follow the reverse chronological format, especially by employers who think that the job seeker has something to hide, it is true that listing your most recent experience at the top of the resume is not always the best strategy if you're applying for a totally different industry. In my case, I have experience in the field that I am applying for, but my experience is further in the past than my most recent roles. What is a person to do? I feel like there is a way to present a resume that is truthful and honest, and at the same time, not too "damning" for a person who is looking to change industries. The truth is, if you don't present well on paper and online, in a way that is SPECIFIC to the role you're applying for, you're NOT getting an interview to begin with. I feel YNJ helped me to present myself and my experience in a way that is "entry level" (in a good way), a way that will entice employers to want to know more about me. Since I am aiming for an entry-level position, and have a college degree, I feel my experience is more than contained in one page. I learned a lot about resume writing just from seeing the finished product that the team put together, and my LinkedIn is much more relevant to the sorts of jobs I want to apply for. read more
