CFC did a great job on my concrete flooring!…read more They resealed my pre-polished concrete floor, pulled up old carpet and chipped out ugly tile and polished and sealed the unfinished concrete upstairs, and they re-sealed my concrete counters with a terrific long-lasting food-safe seal, all for a very, very reasonable price. This is a family business, and the sons, Eric and Sean, who actually do the work were friendly, efficient, and terrific. They kept on schedule as much as possible- due to the heavy rain, they needed a little more drying time than they originally estimated, but otherwise, they were very quick. I got the contact for CFC from a neighbor who is also super happy with CFC's work on his floors. So, why not five stars? Scheduling with CFC is difficult. It took me months of contacting Chris, the father, to get a written bid and to get the work scheduled. And I mean literally months- I first contacted him in April, finally got on their schedule in October. These guys do great work at a great price and are thus understandably busy, but you're going to need to keep on Chris to get scheduled. It's worth the effort, though. My floors and counters look great!

My existing floors were installed by Floors Modern 2 years prior to the water damage. They were professionally levelled and new laminate and tile installed, and the result was perfect. Perfectly level and squeak free, and absolutely beautiful. Then Cambridge Floors came in and damaged/removed that levelling, and put down the new flooring over sloped and uneven subfloors. I was shocked and heartbroken. What made the experience much worse was the way my Cambridge Rep, "A.C." responded to my concerns. He was hostile and indignant. He blamed my now sloping floors on the age of the building. A.C. argued that my floors were never level, even though he had to prop up one side of my bathroom vanity, and replace baseboards and tiles with larger ones to hide a strip of old paint that was now visible. He didn't even tell me, I had to ask him about it. When I showed him that the flooring behind my door was so sloped that my door wouldn't fully open, A.C. looked at it and said it was within industry standards. The more issues I pointed out, the more hostile and verbally aggressive he became. There was no respect for me as the homeowner, and no consideration for the thousands I had spent to have my floors levelled. May 5, 2023 was the day A.C. met with me to discuss these issues, and a day that for me will never be forgotten. A.C.'s behaviour towards me left me traumatized. I am a senior female and I was overwhelmed, emotional, and felt completely beaten down by A.C.'S anger, hostility, and verbal aggression. If I were paying Cambridge Floors directly I would have refused, but Canstar Restorations was paying the bill and they did not want to have to pay Cambridge to do the job over. My floors look horrible. I am out thousands of dollars that I paid to Floors Modern. I would never recommend Cambridge Floors to anyone. It's not surprising to me that Cambridge Floors has had to sell themselves to the insurance industry for business. The work is substandard, the flooring employees are incompetent, and the Company Representative is abusive to the homeowner.

The project entailed all new flooring (wood floors throughout the upper level, bathroom tiles and new carpeting on the lower level), removal of custom shelving throughout, a complete interior repainting from very dark colors to white, electrical work, exterior siding replacement and related repairs, exterior door replacement and repair, junk removal, electrical work, exterior power washing and interior cleaning, and various other tasks. Dmytro was always available to help solve problems and generously helped me select materials. As the scope changed along the way, he was always reasonable with additional charges and actually did a large amount of work without charging anything. The house looked GREAT when he was done, and Dmytro was always available when I had questions about the completed work or if anything needed touch-up or adjustment. He also helped me with miscellaneous work that we needed to do as part of the home sale. Dmytro has his own crew and also a team of fellow professionals with whom he has an excellent relationship. Together I am confident they can handle jobs of any scope. I feel so lucky to have found Dmytro during what was a challenging period with my sick dad and a house that needed a total makeover. We have had three major headaches purchasing Columbia Cabinets (that is, apart from the 20 week…read morewait for delivery). First, we discovered was that my built-in desk had a segment on the side that was unfinished. Our designer ordered a new drawer box, which still hasn't arrived after a month. Second, a white toe kick was not included for our pantry cabinets. We learned it was our designer's mistake, but still, I would think that Columbia would have a QC department to look into human errors like that. They made no phone call to verify that we didn't want white toe kicks for our white cabinets, even though we ordered blue toe kicks for our blue cabinets. And third, our custom storage closet had several flaws in the paint finish. It looks like paper when it gets wet - wavy, slightly rough to the touch and dull instead of shiny. So now all three parts of our home improvement project have had holdups due to Columbia Cabinets. Each of our contractors is stalled without the ability to finalize the kitchen or desk, or install the game closet. The worst part is that Columbia Cabinets is closed this whole week between Christmas and New Years, so there's no one available to handle our issue.
