Transition pieces were not properly glued down, baseboard nails were not set flush, and the caulking was poorly done--problems that are still visible today. I lived with these issues for years because fixing them once was not enough and I did not want to deal with the issue again. The manager at the time did offer me a partial refund so I didn't ask for a 2nd fix. In hindsight I should have. Recently, I re-engaged Jordans because I need to redo my flooring. Engaging with the current store manager I was told in person that we would be "taken care of" and "hooked up" because of the 2017 experience. What followed was a 10¢/sqft price reduction (about $55 total). When I raised this marginal discount, the alternative offered was removing recommended services of leveling and voiding warranty. This process wasted significant time and did not rebuild confidence with Jordan's. We chose another contractor.

The first time, they were the first store we went to and we would dub them later "the expensive flooring store." The second time was to book our floor install because, as it turned out, they were not the most expensive at all. In fact, they had the floor we WANTED at the price we NEEDED. A few general comments: 1. They have a full range of products - so talk to them, they will help you narrow down what is best for your particular conditions. 2. We worked with Garth Burak who was very, very helpful and super responsive to inquiries. 3. THEIR INSTALL TEAM WAS DUCKING AWESOME. Fransico was THE MAN and had more hustle in his baby finger than most people have in their whole body. He busted his but to get the demo done in a day. Huge. KUDOS. Alex was the site forman and he was also awesome, super communicativ. 4. The floors look gorgeous. The team cleaned up after themselves. I can't say enough good things about the experience.

There were a couple of little glitches that we worked through. I'm very picky although I can say that I was very impressed with their workmanship and install to a point. Make sure you do your homework and ask lots of questions. They broke the vanity drawer support, then haphazardly tried to fix it with silicone. They didn't tell me they broke it. I found out when I was reinstalling the drawers. They stated in an email that they were sorry and tried to justifying it, and didn't offer to fix it. When they sent me the final bill, I deducted the repair amount, which they did not like and sent the bill back with the full amount. Also, the sink cut out was wrong, even though the correct size was on the contract. They wanted to reduce the price if I kept the wrong cut out, which I stated no I wanted the correct cut out. They stated they would remove and install the new counter same day and old counter would go in the dumpster, not a good carbon footprint. My thoughts were instead of wasting material they can use the counter with the wrong cut out and make a waterfall for the new counter and do a few other cuts for me also, me thinking outside of the box instead of the material going into the dumpster They also decided to charge me a $500 trip for taking out the old counter and coming back at a later date to reinstall the new counter. Yes, I added a waterfall and a a few other pieces which I had no problem paying for although I was not going to pay the $500.trip amount. This would not have been an issue if they would've made the cut out correctly the first time.

It turned out that we needed the floors to be levelled before the laminate could go down, and that change was handled smoothly and swiftly by Ibrahim, our contact at Val-U. We asked for skirting boards to be removed and refitted, and that too was all competently executed. I've installed laminate floors a few times myself and could not fault the quality of the workmanship. I have no hesitation in recommending Ibrahim and his crew for this type of work.
