My existing floors were installed by Floors Modern 2 years prior to the water damage. They were professionally levelled and new laminate and tile installed, and the result was perfect. Perfectly level and squeak free, and absolutely beautiful. Then Cambridge Floors came in and damaged/removed that levelling, and put down the new flooring over sloped and uneven subfloors. I was shocked and heartbroken. What made the experience much worse was the way my Cambridge Rep, "A.C." responded to my concerns. He was hostile and indignant. He blamed my now sloping floors on the age of the building. A.C. argued that my floors were never level, even though he had to prop up one side of my bathroom vanity, and replace baseboards and tiles with larger ones to hide a strip of old paint that was now visible. He didn't even tell me, I had to ask him about it. When I showed him that the flooring behind my door was so sloped that my door wouldn't fully open, A.C. looked at it and said it was within industry standards. The more issues I pointed out, the more hostile and verbally aggressive he became. There was no respect for me as the homeowner, and no consideration for the thousands I had spent to have my floors levelled. May 5, 2023 was the day A.C. met with me to discuss these issues, and a day that for me will never be forgotten. A.C.'s behaviour towards me left me traumatized. I am a senior female and I was overwhelmed, emotional, and felt completely beaten down by A.C.'S anger, hostility, and verbal aggression. If I were paying Cambridge Floors directly I would have refused, but Canstar Restorations was paying the bill and they did not want to have to pay Cambridge to do the job over. My floors look horrible. I am out thousands of dollars that I paid to Floors Modern. I would never recommend Cambridge Floors to anyone. It's not surprising to me that Cambridge Floors has had to sell themselves to the insurance industry for business. The work is substandard, the flooring employees are incompetent, and the Company Representative is abusive to the homeowner.

He spent a great deal of time with us, showing us different products, asking about our needs, price range, etc. He gave us very competitive pricing. The only negative is that the flooring needs to be ordered and there is a slight freight charge added. Because the competitive pricing, the freight charge is negligible. I highly recommend visiting this location if looking for flooring.

Emailed for an…read moreestimate and Lori at Seawest was the only company who got back to me with a professional manner and with a typed up estimate, no doubt I was going to book them! Craig and Zack showed up 15 minutes early, unloaded their equipment and refinished the floors in my apartment quickly in about half a days work! The floors look amazing, they definitely do high quality work with attention to detail with good equipment. No dust mess clean up, processed a credit card payment on site. They went above and beyond and even refinished the small transition strip between the apartment hallway and my tiled entry. My strata wanted all their insurance documents, WCB coverage and business license and Lori got everything I needed together and emailed over to me. I will be suggesting Seawest to everyone I know who wants to update their wood flooring, my mother in law is already talking about doing theirs! Its obvious they are not only skilled but passionate about what they do.

When I moved into my new (100+ yr old) house last year, I quickly found out that the chimney was…read moreleaking. I unfortunately didn't do my homework and hired Red Brick Chimney to repair it. It took him almost 6 months to get to it. I had it repointed, flashing replaced and spent several thousand dollars only to have the exact same leaking happen the first time it rained. I tried to no avail to get Red Brick to come back and make good on their guarantee, but was told it was not his fault. The leaking was getting so bad - tears of water running down the exposed brick inside my house, wiping down the brick every 5 minutes when it rained, hordes of towels to try and protect the floor when I wasn't home to dry it regularly. I decided to get quotes from a few Brick & Masonry companies (should have done more research the first time!). All 3 were better than Red Brick for their promptness and information without sales pressure (Santas Chimney, Dunbar Masonry and Lindbjerg Chimney). When Henning Lindbjerg came he told me he was in a bit of a hurry as he had a personal appt to get to, but came by and had a quick look. He said he needed to get a better look and get up on the roof, and that he'd come back later that week and bring his son (no worries if I wasn't home). A few days later I heard some footsteps on the roof and 30 minutes later he came to chat. He told me that I probably didn't want to hear his recommendation as to what I might have to do, but in the meantime he installed an additional piece of flashing that hw hoped might help. He wasn't 100% sure, but he thought it might solve the issue. He did not charge me - he felt bad I'd been so screwed around by the last guy. Well, I'm thrilled to say the leaking in my 100+ yr old chimney is 99% better. No towels covering the floor, no wiping down the brick every 5 minutes when it rains. It may not be my permanent solution (which would be removing the chimney altogether), but you can bet when I finally do need to do the big fix I will call Lindbjerg for that!

They were very good with the quote,…read morebreaking it down for my mother, they started the work earlier then they originally told her and had the work completed early. I went to check and make sure that everything was completed as promised and noticed that the flashing around the chimney did not look good. My husband called Kurt who took a while to return his call and told my husband that he did not get the pictures we sent. Kurt told my husband that they don't include masonary flashing in the quote even though the quote says flashing is included and does not say that masonary (chimney) flashing is excluded. My husband was then referred to the owner. The owner confirmed that the masonary flashing is not included but said they would fix it. He also mentioned that myself or my mother had referred to the house as a tear down and that my mother would likely only live in the house for another 5 years at most. We showed the pictures to another roofing company that confirmed the roof would leak the way the flashing was left. Someone came by and did some work on the roof, they did not let my mother know they were there. They came by more then once to complete the work but it still did not seem to be done as well as we felt it should be. Pictures show what we were told was a completed job before they returned and did more work.
