We spoke with many different companies about building an ADU in our backyard, and we're so glad we chose Your Favorite Contractor. Nir was fantastic to work with: professional, communicative, and reliable. He guided us through every step of the process and stuck to the timeline he promised. He helped us choose the best finishes for our budget and style, and made sure the final result met all our needs. We've been using the ADU as a rental, and it's been occupied since day one, thanks in large part to how great it turned out. Nir has also always been quick to respond if anything needed fixing or checking, even after the project was completed. We highly recommend Your Favorite Contractor to anyone considering an ADU project. read more

To build an ADU, we spoke to a lot of companies until we got to Your Favorite Contractor and I have to say it was a blessing to work with them. They were honest they were fair. They explained and made sure that the whole family understood the process they were decently priced a lot better than the other Offers that we were given we've worked with a lot of companies our family, but this company shows that they really care about their clients their work and I truly recommend that you give them a chance before signing anybody else read more

We hired Your Favorite Contractor in 2021 to build an ADU during a time when materials were difficult to source. Despite those challenges, Nir and his team stayed on schedule and kept everything running smoothly. One of the things we appreciated most was how Nir made the process of selecting materials and furnishings easy by offering a great range of choices varying in price, but always of high quality. He was also very open to me adding my personal touches, like choosing the bathroom tile, and offered expert advice that helped enhance both the look and quality of our ADU. Even now, three years later, Nir still picks up the phone when we have a question or concern about the ADU, and he's always willing to offer advice or assistance. That level of customer service is truly unheard of! We actually went with Nir because a neighbor recommended him, and now I think he's built about five ADUs in our neighborhood. We joke that it's "Nir's ADU block," but his reputation really does speak for itself. Our ADU is beautifully done, and we receive so many compliments on it. I can't recommend Your Favorite Contractor highly enough. Thank you, Nir and team, for your outstanding work! read more

When Nir built our ADU in Nov 2022, one of his workers who was digging up our cement, hit and punctured our gas line. They decided to cover up the gas leak, which made the problem so much worse and the gas went underground. The gas company was called out and was here all night. The whole neighborhood could smell it and all the neighbors were genuinely concerned. Meanwhile, I had a toddler and a 5 month old baby at home. It was a nightmare. Nir kept promising he will make it right, except that he never did. Today, 3 years later and before the statue of limitations, we got hit with a lawsuit (which Your Favorite Contractor was named in as well), for damage to SoCal Gas equipment and their labor costs, as a result. Any damage is purely a result of Nir's employees and was never properly taken care of. The lawsuit also alleges they failed to obtain an Underground Service Alert Ticket. The fact that we had to deal with this situation and now defend ourselves in a lawsuit is beyond ridiculous and a huge waste of time and resources. Be ware going with this company, you may be in a lawsuit as a result. read more

Where do I begin... Nir has done some of the most exceptional work I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. He is thorough and covers every base. He answers every question with care and thought, and most importantly, honesty. Construction is never easy and there will always be a bump in the road, but he knows how to handle it all with ease and peace of mind. You get your dollar's worth and more out of him, his team, and their work. That's why he is my FAVORITE CONTRACTOR. read more

Not my favorite contractor anymore since he doesn't respond to my text messages. Had make my own repairs which cost me more money.

I had a few minor issues with kitchen remodel after the work was completed but one phone call to Nir and he took care of any issues I had. I'm completely satisfied now. In fact I might have them work on another project very soon. read more

Nir is the absolute best friend a new homeowner can have. He's responsive, reliable, and always communicates what your options are. We used YFC for our garage renovation and couldn't be happier, but he's amazing for literally every problem we've had with our new house - big and small. Whether you need a major renovation or you just need someone to show you how to flip a breaker (yes I'm embarrassed for me too), Nir and Your Favorite Contractor are the ones to call. I wish I could give 10 stars, they are truly the best. read more

Nir and his team have been a pleasure to work with. We renovated practically every room in our 1905 craftsman bungalow. This was our first experience with renovation and everyone told us that it would be an awful experience and would take double the amount of time stated. We did not find either of these statements to be true. The project was a smooth experience, workers were there consistently, the contractor was on sight often and easy to reach regarding questions or concerns we had. He helped us with design and basically held our hand through this huge project. Now we are in love with our functional and beautiful home! We will definitely be working with Nir on future home projects and would recommend his company to others who are looking for good work at a fair price. read more

We hired Your Favorite Contractor to convert our garage into an office, and storage room. During the construction the interior of our home leaked from rain, no fault of theirs. The damage was so bad we had to gut much of our master bedroom and the entrance way of our home. Nir and his crew helped us navigate this whole situation. He also consulted with us on our backyard, which was wall to wall concrete. After removing the concrete, Nir instructor us on how to install sprinklers, grass, and pavers. All in all Nir and his team went above and beyond, and did exceptional work. After two months we had a new yard, new office, storage space, restored entrance, and restored bedroom. My wife and I highly recommend them! read more

I've known Nir Dayan, the owner of Your Favorite Contractor, for a few years now. He employed another worker to help me remodel a large condo, and when the original sub-contractor didn't get things quite right, Nir stayed on the job until everything was done right. He's come back and made repairs, as well as done some needed upgrades to systems like the HVAC that finally expired. His prices are fair and reasonable, and he is a good, kind, honest man who works hard and deserves success. I would recommend Nir for any remodel job, because not only will you get a good bid, but Nir will also tell you what he can and cannot do. He never over-promises and under-delivers. He knows exactly what his talents are, and his talent in remodeling homes is top of the line. read more

I needed to remodel my kitchen due to water damage and I had a very limited budget to work with. Ido and his team not only did beautiful work, but they finished ahead of schedule. Ido was very helpful and easy to communicate with and checked in with me all throughout the process to make sure that everything was the way I had wanted it. He and his workers were also very respectful of the rest of my home and were careful not to damage or dirty the areas where they weren't working. Having work done in your home can be such a hassle, but this was as quick and painless as it could possibly be, and at the end of it all, I had a beautiful kitchen to cook in! read more

This firm was contracted to install a gazebo. The workmen arrived on 3/23/15. They dug up dirt and rock and used my personal equipment to dig the holes for the support posts and to mix the concrete. The gazebo looked nice- but the workers left the debris and tools by the gazebo. These was no supervision and I had to see their mess for 2 weekends. I have the photos of the mess and incomplete work. Others will be retained to complete the job properly. C. Zalewski LaCrescenta, Ca. read more

I wrote a review on here previously about how when they added our master bedroom/bath suite for over $90,000!!!! they not only killed our entire back lawn by leaving the sprinklers disconnected all summer with trash covering the old lawn, disconnected our power to the garage causing us to pay to have that fixed... AND contracted out someone how moved the air conditioner to the roof.. which leaked and ruined our new master bedroom wall and ceiling... the COVER to the water was also bent and damaged from being left on its side for 3 months allowing water to get inside from rain causing us to buy a new water heater and cover. when I wrote the yelp... the cousin/contractor Neil responded only with; We don't do AC you're a slimy person etc.. telling us to pull permits on our roof... he STOLE the permits from our friend in Woodland Hills who he referred him to but (before we knew that he destroyed our job) but he F'd that potential job up and she got her permits back thank goodness and his plan didn't work!!!!!!!! His cousin, Mike the owner needs to fire him~! read more

Be careful with the sales pitch. Ask for references before going with a contractor. There is absolutely no communication. You will get ignored constantly. You have to push to get things done that they will just leave there unfinished. The head contractor never comes out unless its to get paid. Horrible experience. read more

I had a pleasure to work with Nir on a full rehab on my townhouse unit. The work was done on a timely fashion, all permits pulled and approved, and the utmost care dealing with a very difficult HOA management company. The workmanship was superb, especially on the 14 stairs I have. In addition, Nir suggested few designer touches that really played well into my vision. The team was curious and clean. I was so excited to work with this company as my friends highly recommended them based on a job they had done on their property. All went well until after the contractor's visit to my home. He never provided an estimate--when I emailed, he said that he was waiting for me to give him my insurance adjuster's number-but still it was 2 weeks and if someone is interested in your business they will follow up to see whether or not you still want to work with them. I emailed to ask if he was still interested and he said yes. So I sent am introductory email to him and the adjuster. Crickets. The following week, another email. Crickets. I call the office and they say he isn't in yet and they will give him the message. So I call today (another week later) and the receptionist is rude and dismissive indicating that she told me he was on vacation. No, she didn't. And, if you are truly managing a good business, then you should have a bounce back email indicating you are gone, or have someone take over your case load. So I asked if there was anyone else I can work with bc I want this projected started asap. She said no and that I had to do what was best for me as to whether or not I wanted to wait for the guy to come back from vacation and MAYBE email me back? POOR SERVICE, BAD BUSINESS PROCEDURES, BAD FOLLOW UP. If you want courteous people and timely work flow, go with another company. That was a month of time wasted. read more

Nice people I won't discredit . Quality of work and time efficiency not great. We had some issues . I would do research on other companies.

Do not go to this company if you want your roof done. They claim they do roofs but, not if they have to tear it all down. I was promised a roof job which I thought we discussed that it was going to be a total roof job. But, Mike went to get the permits and found out it was going to be more work than anticipated. Instead of telling me that he wasn't going to do it, he lead me to believe that he was going to do it and even though he went up on his price I still kept him on because of the upcoming El Nino and not easy to get another roofer! Anyway, 3 weeks went by (we were suppose to be next on the list) and no date given and he ignored my texts and phone calls to his office were never returned so it took my husband to call for him to finally say that he couldn't do it and we weren't even scheduled!!!! I would have respected him better if he just told me in the beginning that he couldn't do it!!! We had a hell of a time trying to find another roofer so late in the fall since most good ones were all booked up. Luckily we finally did and its done now but, I would never never recommend this company to anyone. If I could give him zero stars i would. read more
