They greet you by name, keep the check‑in process smooth, and somehow manage to juggle a busy schedule while still making each patient feel like the only one on the calendar. Office manager Katrina is the heartbeat of the front office. She was professional, calming, and relentlessly solution‑oriented. She goes above and beyond to resolve billing or insurance issues, explain treatment plans in plain language, and make sure every visit ends with all questions answered and next steps crystal clear. Her leadership shows in how cohesive and welcoming the entire team is, and you can feel her commitment to patient care in every interaction. Dental hygienist Darryl delivers one of the most meticulous cleanings you'll ever experience, without ever feeling rushed or rough. He takes time to walk through exactly what he's seeing with your gums and teeth, coaches you on brushing and flossing technique specific to your mouth, and checks in frequently to be sure you're comfortable at every step. By the end of the appointment, your teeth feel incredibly clean, and you leave with practical, personalized tips that make you feel genuinely cared for, not like you were just run through a routine.

But you would've thought I stole her man and her wallet the way that she was doing me. Her bedside manners wasn't it, she was extremely rough, the way she spoke to me was horrible, she gave me someones glasses to put on, that looked like splashes from when they got their teeth cleaned on it, rushing - it was a horrible experience. I've never seen her before, Asian short lady, just if you see someone that fits that description run for your life. Four of my bottom teeth has gaps in them now. I'm so upset!!

First-time Yelp reviewer doing community service -- save yourself. Go anywhere else…read more The dentist is fine and most of the hygienists are super sweet, but the two older ladies in the front office are genuinely scaring away patients with how much they seem to hate life. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for my first several visits because I know from experience that it's not an easy job, but as front-facing professionals in a service position they consistently gave the bare minimum in terms of respect, patience, and basic people skills. On three separate occasions I've been berated by one staff member, Lori, for accidentally making her life harder. Once, I got my appointment time wrong and showed up 30 minutes late -- completely my fault, I owned it immediately and offered to reschedule. But Lori acted like it was the most exciting thing to happen to her all day, lecturing me about respecting people's time, complaining loudly to the other receptionists, and then actually barging in during my cleaning to tell me again that they were making an exception this one time but it can't happen again. One correction would've been fine and completely warranted but the repeated harping was genuinely unprofessional. On a couple other occasions I declined to book a follow-up because I wasn't sure of my work schedule yet, and she made me super uncomfortable pushing me to explain why, where I lived, whether I understood how easy the commute was, and was I sure I didn't want to book. It was pushy and annoying and honestly kind of bizarre - I expect any doctors office to respect my decisions the first time I communicate them, not to interrogate me like a weirdo salesperson. Then, in front of a crowded waiting room, she called me out by name to scold me for not answering her calls. The number she calls from doesn't show caller ID, and like most people I don't answer unknown numbers -- especially when no voicemail is ever left. I apologized anyway because this job seems like the most important thing in her life and I didn't have the energy to remind her that I'm the one paying. My last straw was when she called to berate me for booking through ZocDoc. At one point she said "I keep having to speak to you about things. You need to stop booking online -- I mean, REALLY." Excuse me?? I calmly asked her to cancel all my future appointments because I'm finding a new dentist. She started arguing and I had to hang up on her because she wouldn't stop talking. The only reason I booked through ZocDoc in the first place was to avoid having to talk to Lori. Literally the only reason. I reached out twice to the practice email to share this feedback and got no response to either message -- but the appointment reminders kept coming because she never took me off their contact list, which is literally the first thing she should've done when I communicated I was done with their office. That, combined with the constant pushing for services I don't need, tells me this place puts profit over patients. The dental care itself is fine if you stand firm in declining super expensive procedures you don't need, but Lori is clearly long past retirement and it shows.

Each question was fielded and respected, and we walked through the answers until I had a clear picture of my procedure, care afterwards, and steps down the line. I was admittedly scared entering the process of deciding double jaw surgery was the best route. It felt as if there were so many unknowns, more so because I had never dealt with a decision like that and couldn't imagine changing my quality of life for the better after having taken steps over the years to just manage my condition. Three months post-op and I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. Each step of the way I felt incredibly supported, with an open invitation to speak about the emotions coming into play with facial surgery. Our check-ups have provided constant reassurance that any feelings I'm having (both emotional and physical) are totally normal and to be expected. Dr. Z is amazing at addressing patient concerns, and he maintains a dedication that feels as though he is with you every moment pre-op and through the recovery process. It feels amazing to know I have entrusted my care to Dr. Z and his team of bright-minded and caring individuals. They bring a very human focus to their care, understanding that there is a lot on my mind at various points. They all take the amazing effort of meeting me wherever I am mentally with patience. In choosing Dr. Z, I felt confident both about my care to come and the results I would see and feel.

This was the worst dental experience of my life,…read moreassistants who stood around chatting, a one hour wait, a spooky bathroom that looked as if Freddy Krueger lives there, with a 40 watts bulb, and six paper towels total for drying hands. The dentist was rude and made sure she collected my payment before starting the work. I had seen Dr. Holness on tv and she sounded caring and professional, so I thought I would go there as she wasn't far from where I lived. She had talked about an Holistic approach to working on the patient's mouth when she did her spiel on tv. I was impressed. She pulled five teeth, and when I asked to wash my mouth out, she said, "It's your blood ain't it?" She yelled at the assistant (Marquita) asking her why she was standing there looking lost.. and telling her that Novocain was very expensive, and not to be wasted. She had her nephew working as an assistant who had no training, but was on summer break from college. This is what he told me when I asked him. I had to be numbed a few times, because she used very little the first few times. Dr. Holness asked if I wanted to see my favorite tv show. I said no, and she said what will you use, I said prayer, and she said "Me too!" I was flabbergasted but she had already started, and thus I could not have gotten up and left. She implanted some bone grafts that hurt to this day and it's impossible to chew properly. They also make you sign a bunch of forms while you are in the dental chair, so they cannot be legally responsible for shoddy dental work. I wonder how many lawsuits she has had. It will be interesting to see how long they remain in business. Now I have to find an oral dental surgeon to remove the bone grafts. The pain is unbearable. She was pushing me to get mini implants. Thank God I said no. This review is to share my frightening experience so another human being does not have to go through what I went through. I went there in August of 2022, and my mouth is still messed up in June of 2024. No calls are ever returned, and the office is always closed. DO NOT LET Dr. HOLNESS DO ANY DENTAL WORK ON YOUR MOUTH! DO NOT! LIMIED EXPERIENCE AND DEPLORABLE PAINFUL WORK! I will report this company to the Maryland Board of Dentistry, as the pen is mightier that the sword! You will regret it terribly if Dr Holness works on your mouth. I do.

They started out professional and she signed an agreement which they subsequently used against her to explain away their poor unprofessional behavior. Over the next 6 months (you heard it-6 months) we encountered a "dental office" that rarely answered the phone, multiple delays in getting the right teeth, months in which my 80 year old mom could not eat solid food waiting for her teeth (months!!!!), poor communication on the status of the teeth, rude and unprofessional to the nth degree. Wow. We ended up getting her implants redone by a reputable dental clinic in Towson who had to work with the poor implant anchors that were done in Bowie. Do not risk your well being since implants are expensive to correct. The only thing that is accurate in their name is the "Bowie". "Dental Wellness" is not what we received. Please, please avoid this business.
