I got there early and was greeted by Niah. She helped me get acquainted with the studio and set up with my mat towel. Love a studio pup, so it was such a treat meeting Mars, Niah's dog. I appreciated the ambiance of the room. The dark walls with flameless candles created the feeling of sacredness, which is exactly what my yoga practice means to me. It's my own, and the fact I couldn't see everyone else gave me freedom to explore my practice without judgment. I honestly had no expectations of the class. I was just excited to do yoga and listen to the throwback Thursday playlist. I had no idea I was going to put in work! Plus the room was much hotter than I'm used to, so I got a good sweat in. Niah's flow was simple but also challenging as she offered options to level up the practice. It was a great well rounded class, and she made it accessible for all levels of experience. The staff and instructors are so welcoming and friendly, and they have such a calm and cool vibe. I like that they like to check in/chat with students before/after class, and they are just so nice. I've taken the Wednesday and Thursday evening Zen Vinyasa classes (unheated room), and it's exactly what I was hoping for! It also was populated but not crowded which was great (though I can't speak to other days/times). I had Angel as an instructor both times when they were subbing for someone else and I really enjoyed it! Angel has a simultaneously soothing and strong voice (in the best way for a yoga class) that is great for motivating students during class and I love their inspiring words and playlist that begin and end our classes. The studio itself is cozy yet spacious enough to have multiple rooms for various classes and a lounge area in the center with lots of comfy pillows and a coffee station. I see people hang out there and it makes it feel like a community vibe. I like that there are lots of hooks, hangers, benches, and lockers in the front and back of the studio and in the actual bathrooms/locker rooms so it feels like there's plenty of space to place your things. It's also very clean!

Unfortunately, both times I have come here there has been music playing throughout the entire session. Not ambient instrumentals but whole entires songs with lyrics and bridges and choruses and stuff. And not very good ones. I personally cannot focus on the words of the instructor or my breath and body with tacky lyrics being pumped into my ears. I come to the mat to cultivate focus and presence, and I find it impossible in this space. This place is definitely for someone, but not people who are sensitive to noise or enjoy a more traditional yoga practice. Much love.

Any extreme will take its toll on you... & my daily aches & stiffness remind me of such. I've attended 3 classes so far, all virtually - which I appreciate so much given the winter weather & the pandemic. My absolute favorite class is Candlelight Yoga with Aasha. I find ending my stressful week with this class so necessary & I feel refreshed & relaxed after. I love that we're asked what parts of the body may need attention & we'll work through some poses to help... & they do! Despite being hyper mobile, I can still get a good stretch & be challenged. Class ends with meditation & before you know it, any drama & stress from the previous days are gone. If you're on the fence of starting a new healthy habit, give this place a try.
