I utilize Young's quite a bit and find it to be very convenient. First, some things are in this shop, in small quantities that are tougher to get in traditional grocery stores. Bok Choi, here, is the "baby" variety, smaller and fresh. Grocery stores are generally large, tougher BC. Green onions are always fresh. I love the bags of loose basil leaves and parsley. Buy fresh basil in a grocery store and it will be more than the $1 bag of loose here. Generally the produce is good and reasonably priced, and we'll stocked. Some convenience items can be pricier, like pasta or soy sauce. But convenience is the key. read more

Wouldn't give refund for fruit we bought wanted to give me the same type of fruit I didn't want it asked to exchange for grapes she said no. So I was waking out and said fine I'll take the strawberry she said no. Bad business practice I thought. So I got nothing bought the strawberries 3 days ago. 1) Impeccably clean store. 2) Prices blow away those from Giant and ACME 3) Proper handling and climate control help make the produce last at least 2x longer than the big stores. This is my favorite little store for weekly or a quick in and out for last minute buys of fresh fruits and vegetables. I particularly like that there is often a choice to purchase a smaller quantity that I may not be able to buy in the larger grocery store. For example I was able to buy a single leek for a recipe; where at the larger chain grocery leeks were bundled into 3-4. The store has many other prepackaged shelf items such as nuts, dried fruit, quality snacks and condiments along with refrigerated items that I use regularly, such as a nice brand of graded cheese & packages of fresh herbs. I have always found the store to be clean, reasonable priced and the personnel very kind. read more

Best place in Havertown to buy your produce. If you are shopping down the street at Super fresh, drive two minutes and come here for the green stuff. Clean, fresh product, good prices and a roomy parking lot. We go here for regular quantities of produce. If you need larger volumes make the trip to Produce Junction for the quantity pricing. read more

I was here on Sun. I could not believe how fresh the vegetables were as compared to any supermarket. I go from supermarket to supermarket and cannot find fresh vegetables or herbs. I loved the basil in the air knotted bag!!! So fresh. I love that you can buy the amount of vegetables you need. I was so happy and excited to find this gem of a place. If you are looking for great produce at a steal you are in the right place! This is a family run place that houses some of the freshest produce. You can buy any quantity you want from one bunch to ten. This is by far the best around, the greenest, and the most flavorful. No need to shop at the supermarket for produce any longer. My grandmom used to go here regligously back in the days they used to be on the corner where "charlies" is. This place is doing quite well for themselves and does provide decent produce in the area. I stopped in to get some peppers the other day for some sausage and peppers and found the store to be surprisingly crowded and stocked full of goodies. I highly recommend here if you're tired of the produce at your local supermarket but beware this is not an organic produce world this is simply cheap produce at a good price. read more

There is something to say when someone has pride in what they do. Such can be said of the business owners of youngs produce. When you walk in, it isn't super fancy. But it is CLEAN. Their produce is high quality, noticeably better than what you get at the normal grocery store. I believe the owner was the woman who rung me up said after I brought up the Brooklyn bread said "you like these? This the first shipment today!" Her little shop is stocked with some of my favorite European brands of chocolate and other good things. Overall this store is a great place to stop in for. read more

This is my favorite place to buy produce in Havertown. The quality is invariably higher than that of the local supermarkets and the prices are always reasonable. It is impeccably clean. Aside from their high quality produce, they offer a limited selection of cheese, eggs, canned goods and bulk nuts and dried fruit. In the summer, they also have a small selection of annuals and herbs. And if you are too lazy to cut a pineapple like I am, or hate dealing with an unwieldy watermelon, they have pre-cut fruit in lovely plastic containers -- no mess, no sticky fingers and no stabbing yourself with pineapple tops or wrestling to get your melon to share space with the rest of your refrigerated goods. read more

Today was my first time stopping at Young's. I thought the selection of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, hummus, and snacks was quite good, everything seemed fresh, and the prices were far better than what I would have paid at the supermarket. Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I didn't notice any organic fruits or vegetables, which I do like to buy from time to time. Despite this, I made a fantastic salad with my purchases and I'm looking forward to my next visit there. I highly recommend Young's! read more

We have been buying all of our produce from Young's for many years now, and it is simply the best quality, freshest and a great value for what they charge! We spend between $45. and $65. each visit. They get deliveries twice a week. So the fruits and vegetables are not sitting in refrigeration for up to two weeks before they put it out like in the supermarkets. We buy baby Bok Choy there almost every week. There is never any sand in it like at Giant or Whole Foods. It is a clean, well organized, bright and cheerful store. The owners and all the workers are very friendly and personable. read more

I found the prices to be in the high side for similar quality as Giant. I purchased strawberries, same brand that Giant carries, and they were over $1 more per package. The same for blueberries. I won't be back. Gentile's in Newtown Square is much better. read more
