James Young of Young's Electrical Services repaired some outdoor lighting for us that was damaged after a recent storm. He returned my call for an estimate within a day and was on time when he came out for the bid. He gave us a bid the same day. He also arrived on time to do the work. He even called and said his last job finished early and asked if it was ok to head over 45 minutes early. The work was done as promised and he even did a small repair on an unrelated indoor switch that he didn't charge us for. He is friendly, personable and his prices are reasonable. We called this company for service a little while back and they supposedly say they give 3 hours free estimates. We had a minor problem that our outlet in the kitchen did not work. So when he arrived on the scene, he quickly addressed the situation. Come to find out, it was the smallest issue possible. My breaker just popped. So all he had to do was pop it back in to place and that was it. I found it crazy that he charged me $150 just for him being here under 1 hour. I didn't want to argue with it at the time, I was in a hurry to do other things. Although, that was a little absurd, I didn't think that just flipping a breaker would cost me $150. I could have done that myself. Anyway, with that being said, I will never come back to this company for service in the future. Also I will not recommend this place to anybody. Young's was excellent! A tree came down on our pge service line. They got to our house quick, got us a new electrical panel, mast and weather head. Ours pulled out from the house. When I called their secretary she was compassionate and let me talk to a tech so I could explain what happened. I sent them a few pictures of our situation and they got on it quickly. They also got all our permits and called pge for us and they came out that night to re connect us. They were so professional and would highly recommend! read more

Very Happy with this company! I asked Hammonds Water Pump Service "who is the best electrician in the area", and he referred me to Young's Electrical Service. When I called them, we setup an appointment for a few days later that week. I then received a text message of the appointment, 2 days later I received a text message confirming the appointment for the next day. The appointment time was between 12-3pm, and a little after noon James called to say he would be there in a few minutes, which he was. When James and Paul arrived they were very professional in their actions and appearance. I explained what we needed done, James gave me a quick verbal estimate, which was very reasonable. I told him to do the job, and he and Paul quickly did the job. The work was professionally and cleanly done. They left, and then emailed a receipt for the work done. The bottom line is that James and Paul (who are brothers) are friendly, knowledgeable, straight forward, and just really nice down to earth people. We have been trying to find an electrician for the last six months to install Can Lighting in our kitchen...some companies wanted money up front that would go toward the job, many people made appointments and never showed up, most companies never called back because the job was too small!! A lot of miscommunication between workers and myself. While installing recess lighting water pipe was cut. Fan was not installed with all components (remote control) was advised by company I was going to have to pay additional charge for them to come back. Not fair I didn't make mistake and jobs hired to do was over 7,000 dollars. One of the many jobs hired to do was left undone and had to call back to return and complete. i called Young's Electric to replace a bedroom ceiling fan. James came out and took down the old fan. He installed the new fan and found out it was defective and did not work. He waited around while I ran back to Home Depot to exchange it. Also, when installing the new fan, he realized that the part that was connected to the ceiling was smaller than the old fan. Some of the unpainted ceiling was exposed. We had some ceiling paint on hand so he actually painted the ceiling around the new connector. He went above and beyond what I expected. I called Young's electrical to get an estimate on replacing some outdoor flood-lamps with new bulbs. James was very professional and assessed my situation and recommended replacing the lamps with LED lamps instead of replacing those old energy sucking bulbs. The initial investment was not much more than the bulbs I was looking to replace (sodium) and the light coverage was at least doubled and monthly cost actually will save me money in the long run. I actually added more lamps on the other side of my house and the work is impeccable. I have other projects in the near future and I will use Young's electric for those as well. There I was, in the middle of a simple DIY project - installing a timer on my outside lights - and when I switched the circuit breaker off, it would not turn back on again. We were so impressed with James. He is professional and knowledgeable.
