    I'm sad to give this review but after four canceled appointments by this doctor all happening after…read moreI had to take a day off of work and drive 45 minutes only to find out when I got there and waited 20 minutes in the waiting room that: 1st time: the doctor left,I was told she had to go home for some reason! 2nd time :I was told the person from PAMF who scheduled me made a mistake and the doctor doesn't have time to see me now!! 3. Rd time the staff come out to tell me the reason was she is on a lunch break, and then has to go to a meeting, are you kidding me ?? 4th time I came on tome and did what the my health app told me to- I checked in online and it said you're checked in go to the waiting room and wait for your name to be called so I went to the waiting room. No one came to call me 10 minutes went by and then I heard my name and went to the front desk and they said oh no you were supposed to check in here. I waited 10 more minutes and then a nurse came out and told me I'm sorry the doctor can't see you. Your appointment was 11:40 and it's now 1150:. The doctor has to go to lunch and then she has a meeting! I couldn't believe this happened for a fourth time and I went asked to speak to the doctor and I was waiting again for them to give me a reply. They came back out and said well she can help you make another appointment, but she can't see you ---what the heck?? I'm in my 60s I never in my life have had such a horrible experience in the span of 1 1/2 weeks having my appointment canceled four times that is just unacceptable to me. I'm very concerned about what happened to the level of care at PAMF!!! They think it's OK keep me waiting for 20 minutes or more when I have an appointment and have then have the nerve to tell me the doctor is not there or at lunch?? and I have to go home and come back another day and make another appointment four times in a row! This doctor couldn't take five minutes to talk to me, especially after Im coming out of the ER the day before- this is highly inconsiderate and disrespectful to your patients. I changed doctors. I have had enough even though I really liked Dr. Altman five years ago when I first saw her, but now she and her staff show no respect or concern whatsoever for what they put me through . No apologies were given, no accommodations were made for their incompetency in scheduling and caring for and managing the patient. And the attitude I got was if it was no big deal for them to send me home and come back another time. I have a busy life. I have a job and can't keep taking time off because of scheduling mistakes my time is valuable also. The first time I was sent away, I had Covid and it was really difficult for me to walk to the appointment and even get there and they had the nerve to send me home due to their scheduling error. Shame on This practice!! To pour salt on the wound when I left, I must have lost my parking ticket and there's no attendant in the booth anymore so I couldn't get out of the parking lot without paying $35 for spending less than an hour in the parking lot!

She didn't listen to a word I said and told me she'll follow up after running a test. When UTI test came back negative, she didn't even bother to follow up. After I reached out, she told me to schedule another appointment to talk about my symptoms again. All she cares about is charging your insurance and get rid of you as soon as possible. It's really sad that there are very few doctors at Sutter that care about their patients.

His website stated he is accepting new patients. The person on the phone was extremely rude, did not even let me finish my statement. Here's how it went: me:"Hi, I'd like to make an appointment, is Dr. Kawano accepting..." Dr's office person: "No he is not" me: "OK, but your website states that he is...." Dr's office person: "Uh huh, yes it does" me: "So..." Dr's office person: "No he is not" me: "is there another doctor in your practice who is accepting patients?" (since several doctors are listed at the 1 Baywood location) Dr's office person: "no we are a single person practice" me: "OK... You should change the..." She hangs up on me This was at the beginning of the day, so she was not tired or stressed already. What the hell? There are lots of doctors out there, perhaps Dr Kawano needs to review his office staff.

I thought all doctors were like this because he was the only doctor I really ever associated with. But when I moved down to San Diego I realized what good of a family doctor I really had. I can trust this man with my life, he's patient, honest, KNOWLEDGABLE, unbiased, thorough, pays attention to detail and a whole bunch of qualities doctors should have. He's always been able to diagnose everything I had and gave me the proper level treatment. Heart and skin problems are just a few of the things he has helped me with. To be honest, he helped me with my skin condition way better than a dermatologist I recently went to did. And for the things he doesn't have the capability to help me with, he would refer me to great doctors that would definitely be able to help me. I'm sure he has a wide range of doctors through his network. Anytime I have a medical concern, he's the first person I would go to because I know he will be able to help me in one way or another. I read the reviews on yelp and the reason why some of them are bad are because of the customer service. Honestly, It's probably because they called outside of business hours. Dr. Kawano has some kind of call center that takes calls when the front desk is unavailable. The call center is questionable but the lady at the front desk is very sweet. Ive never had a bad experience with her and she's always been nice to me since I was a kid. If someone has had a bad experience with her, I would give her the benefit of the doubt because she truly is a good person.
