I was referred to come here by the Header manufacturer to come and talk to Sam about some chrome plating as well as ceramic coating. I was recommended to go to this place by a friend. What a mistake. I had a set of four expensive forged aluminum wheels that cost me $1,300 per wheel I took to get powder coated at Young Gun 1. I took two at a time to get coated and told Sam to please make sure my wheels are taken care of and to make sure the job gets done correctly. When I went back to pickup the first set that were done I paid for the job. The wheels were rapped so I didn't notice anything at first until I took the wheel to have tires installed. After the tires where installed and rapping was removed is when the person installing my tires had noticed the issue and brought it to my attention. You can obviously tell the wheels were not powder coated correctly. A few spots the color was completely missing and some spots the color was lighter. One wheel was better then the other but both wheels were not coated correctly. When I noticed it I was very upset and called Sam and told him what had happened and sent him photos and asked him why did this issue occur when I had asked them before doing anything to make sure the job was done correctly the first time. He told me to take the wheels back and he would redo them again but I had already installed tires on the wheels and didn't want to deal with having to remove the tires again and risk damaging my wheels more. The problem is he would have to chemically strip all the coating off and then re coat them and re bake them in a oven at temperatures of 450°F. When baking the wheels at that temperature it does reduce the integrity and strength of the wheel. For that reason I didn't not want the wheels touched by them again. The customer service was also very disappointing. Sam is not the one that does the coating. What pisses me off more is no one checked to make sure the wheels had no issues. I even asked him if anyone checked ? read more

He even arranged for pickup and delivery, and we're out in Riverside to his Rancho Cucamonga. The cast aluminum material is difficult due to the porous nature and rough surface, and as you can see in the photo, our set had an intricate design, but they did a great job of cleaning, priming and coating with as few imperfections as possible in the end. Sam was absolutely amazing. He showed me a variety of coatings that they work with, some raw product and some finished pieces. I took in my Vance and Hines 2-1 exhaust for my night rod foe ceramic coating and it looks as good as new, but with much better heat protection. When i initially called Sam, I asked for a quote and even sent him pictures of what it was that i wanted done. He gave me a quote that I was EXTREMELY happy with. Once I brought the exhaust to him, he requoted me on the spot with an even lower price. What amazed me the most is what he said to me. "I know what i told you over the phone, but im only gonna charge you $xxx.00 because its only $xxx.00 worth of work." I was referred to another powder coater in the area but when I saw their work I decided to keep looking around. I found Young Gun and went in to talk to them. I had 4 bolt on steps for a sand rail that originally came chrome and I wanted them black. I also needed them done in a couple of days. They gave me a complete rundown on the complexity and risks of powder coating over chrome. Well, 2 days later they called me that they were ready to pick up. Right on schedule. When the steps came back they were perfect. One thing I was worried about was powder getting on the bolt holes and having a hard time getting the bolts in but they covered them perfectly and they bolted up like butter. I had tanks and fenders from a motorcycle there for almost 2 weeks just to get blasted. Nothing for done. I picked the tanks and they had done about 1/8th of a tank and made chip and scrapes on the parts that were good. The parts were in the same spot on the floor where I left them. Time frame 2/27 dropped off, picked up 3/7. I was told they got swamped but it wasn't that way when I dropped them off so looks like I got put on the back burner. One thing I will say good is that the owner was decent about it and understood that I wanted to take them. I'm giving 2 stars because he was nice, logistics fell apart. Instead of calling him, she told me he told her when I arrived he was ten minutes away. I asked her a little while later, she told me she didn't know, must be traffic.
