However, they are way overpriced for staples. A dozen eggs from Vital at more than $10 is absurd. I dig Vital's eggs & butter, high quality & 3d party tested, but not at that price. My big complaint was the young lady working the register today, I'd drop a name but she didn't have a name tag on. She greeted the lady in front of me and was polite to her. When I got up, I received no greeting, no smile, nothing. There was an older couple behind me, she was friendly and engaged them as I was paying, offering suggestions to their issue. After I paid, she handed me my receipt, didn't thank me for spending my money there, didn't wish me a nice day. I gave her plenty of opportunities. I took my receipt, smiled at her and told her to have a wonderful day. Didn't cost me anything extra and it is a simple thing to do. Although, I wonder if my frosty reception was due to the fact I was wearing a Gulf of America trucker hat?

Lunch combos in their deli is great for lunch at work or just a take home ready lunch after doing your grocery shopping. Ready made meals and dinners are the epitome of savings and time. I love their BOGO sales on these. I stock up. Candy and nut aisle has every type you can think of and taste great too.

Since writing this review, I have moved to another state. Upon returning for a visit I discovered…read moreParker's has been purchased by an out-of-town owner. It is now called Wood's. The pharmacy and grocery staff seem to be mostly the same people, but I cannot state how well the store is now run. What I wrote previously: Number one - Parker's is the only locally owned grocery and pharmacy in Warrensburg. The owners are active in their community, doing their best to benefit the area. I support locally owned businesses if I can justify doing so. Parker's has earned my loyalty. The prices are not always the lowest; they may not always be favorably compared to prices at WalMart and BiLo and Aldi's. However, they work hard to cover all the basics and then add carefully selected additional items they know their townspeople want. Watch for sales, as usual. Heck, if you ask about any specific item you cannot locate, they find a way to begin stocking it. Their produce is likely obtained from the same sources other area grocers use, but they must be choosing the higher quality. I have never gotten inferior quality from them and I have from other places in town. I can almost guarantee they would bend over backwards to make things right if ever I was dissatisfied. They have real butchers who will cut as you desire or grind things up as you desire and probably can do more than I've thought of asking for! If a checkout line is more than 2 customers long they call for reinforcements! You cannot find THAT at the other markets. They own their own pharmacy too. You get personalized attention from a very highly qualified staff. Big ticket help in a small town is a great combination. Just about any discounts you would receive at the "big boys" of pharmacy can also be found at Parkers; they are extremely competitive. On top of all that, they have packed a tremendous amount of variety and standards into their cozy alcoholic beverage section. You will find the usual liquors, wine and beer, plus many specialty local offerings. Parker's is a great resource for local wines as well as regional wines from other countries. They also carry a very diverse selection of micro-brewed finds, many of which can be purchased as individual components to a "build your own 6-pack". That is rare in a town this small. To summarize, Parker's can satisfy your needs while making you feel appreciated. They seem to work hard at making you feel they want your business. The Julie person

So on a 90 degree day someone left their dog in their car. Like any decent human we let customer service know what kinda car it was and they just asked if the windows were cracked, and they were, then seemed to brush it off. We were in there for about ten minutes and was still there the dog was panting pretty fast when we came out so we called non emergency and waited to see if someone came to the car. Now knowing that it was an employee's son that was shopping and picking her up made it 100 times worst. They could've pave the car owner or just talk to her since they known and do something about it. I was enraged and called to talk to the store director, who had a nonchalant attitude about it and immediately knew who the car belong to. And said that they don't do anything about animals only for kids. Just saying animals are living creatures too so maybe she should sit in the car for 15 minutes at least on a day like this and see how she feels when no one does anything to help. Never in my life will I step foot in this place again!
