This little hidden gem was a great find. We happened upon the owners of this winery at a boat wine cruise and were surprised to find there was winery in the little town of Groveland, not far from Pine Mountain Lake. You'll miss the sign if you are not careful, then a short trip up a dirt road (slowly as to not disturb the neighbors with dust) and low and behold a wonderful winery set in such a beautiful hidden spot. The wines were on point. The maker knowledgeable and informative. The price point reasonable (surprising for a small winery). We had an enjoyable visit and we will definitely be back again!

What an absolutely wonderful place! My cousin had her bachelorette party in Pine Mountain Lake, and we were so pleasantly surprised to find this winery so close to where we were staying. Yosemite Cellars boasts gorgeous views, the happiest hummingbird population I've ever seen, and an adorable dog, Maggie. Ron and Cheryl were so gracious and knowledgable. They seated our party of 8 women at our own private table, brought us snacks, and told us the story of each delicious wine they poured. All of us had the best time at Yosemite Cellars, drinking fantastic wine and listening to the history of the land from Ron. (You have to try the Rim Fire Red--it's a taste of time!) I can't wait to get into the wine I brought back home with me, and I would love to go back!

This was the most adorable winery I've ever been to! My fiancé and I were in from out of town and stumbled upon this place and it is a true gem! The owners are the nicest people and the atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking! If you're ever in the area it is a must! The wine is also delicious! I can not recommend this winery enough or say how truly amazing they were to me and new fiancé

I planned my cousins bachlorette trip up here mid march (St. Patricks day weekend). I was trying to…read moreplan a girls day out, and definitely wanted to do some wine tasting but didn't really want to be a Designated driver. I found Courtwood by searching online, and I'm SO happy I found Chris @Courtwood! I was a little bummed I didn't find any available tours on their website, so I reached out via email. Chris promptly sent a reply with pricing, details, and that it would be quite packed in Murphy's, so she would take us on a private tour around the outlying wineries (good call, none of the wineries were too packed and we had a lot of "private time" at each vineyard). Chris picked us up right out front of our hotel right on time, had a smile and made sure she knew who the bride was and made her feel extra special! We stopped at Twisted Oak, Chatom, Ironstone (for lunch), and Aryael Vieux (TOP FAVE!! I'll be reviewing these wineries soon). Chris took care of everything, all we had to worry about was sipping wine and having a wonderful and relaxing time. Hanging out with Chris was like having another friend just along for the ride! We picked up a loaf of fresh bread at one of the wineries, and mentioned that we wanted to get some butter later on, Chris told us she needed to pick something up too and that we could come with her! I can't say enough good things, they even include a slideshow of your trip (chris takes photos throughout the tour) and email it to you promptly after your tour. If you are in the area, I would definitely come here and take a tour with Courtwood,

I was…read moregiven the task of setting up a wine tasting tour in the Murphy's area for a bachelorette group of 9 people. We stayed in Angel's Camp in a friend's cabin, and being unfamiliar with the area, I completely put my trust in Chris to arrange everything for us. She exceeded my expectations (and made me look like I had done a lot more than I had!) She asked a lot of questions about our group and the types of wines we liked so that she could tailor the tour very specifically. Preferring the boutique wineries to the large scale Ironstone types, Chris took us to six different wineries that ranged significantly from Twisted Oak, to Prospect 772, to Aerial Vieux. As a large group Chris coordinated with Kristen, who also leads tours in the area to caravan us around in their large air conditioned vans. It seemed like she had personal relationships with the various winemakers and their staff and was able to get us some kind of behind the scenes cave tour/vineyard tour/private tasting room access everywhere we went. I have to say the best thing about the day was the lunch. Chris set it up on a long table outside Chatom winery and it literally looked like something straight out of Sunset Magazine. She brought local cheese and interesting dips, and the salads were presented in ball mason jars. It really was so well done, I think Chris might have a future in putting on lunches in addition to taking tours! After the tasting, Chris and Kristen took us into Murphy's, waited for us while we had dinner, and then took us all the way back to Angels Camp. I highly recommend Courtwood for small and large tours alike. Chris was just wonderful!

There's a café and a good sit-down restaurant on site, plus an arcade and bowling alley on the lower level, which is a fun bonus. If you enjoy gambling, definitely sign up for a players card. They're pretty generous with coupons and free night offers. For those traveling with a camping trailer, the RV park is very nice and conveniently located within walking distance of the casino. There's also a shuttle that runs regularly to and from the casino. Overall, it's a solid destination and an easy getaway, especially if you're in the Central Valley. It's about a 1 hour and 20 minute drive.

I was expecting music performances and other acts, coupons, all sorts of gaming, and many places to eat (and drink). I saw a parking garage with all of the handicap spots filled. If they had them on other levels, I didn't see those. I saw many, many slot machines, poker, and blackjack. I saw a drink fountain with around 6 brands of soda, one of which wasn't working. The coffee had one not working. No one seemed to be carrying drinks around the floor. There were no musical performances. The cafe was re-worked, according to the person with me, and not for the better. Apparently, there was a buffet. The choices for food were good and the portion was very good for the price. The workers seemed friendly. The gift shop was a bit over-priced but otherwise as reasonable as a hospital gift shop. I sat beside the person I drove to the casino and my machine seemed more favorable, but, it was hungry in the end. I even got ahead for a while. It was most definitely smoky but once we sat at the slot machines, it wasn't bad. Who knows if I'll return, unless someone needs me to drive them there. I usually only gamble when I go out to eat.
