Yonkers brewery is a staple, I haven't been here in a while. Unfortunately, food has really taken a hit. I was really excited to try the Churrasco Steak that came with Tostones. I was extremely disappointed. The plantain, seem to be frozen and refried. It doesn't take a lot to actually make fresh Tostones. Adding a little salt would go a long way. The steak, was extra well done. We asked for medium well, but I guess that means well done. A steak that came with the sauce that should have been cooked in, it had absolutely no flavor, it would have even benefited from a little salt and pepper. Leave the onions if they aren't cooked with something, I would suggest using a different type of onion if it's not going to add to the lacking flavor. Bbq wings were mediocre, it would have benefited from being seasoned before being fried and dipped into barbecue sauce. For a city that is known for diversity and delicious food, this is very lackluster. The beer was confusing, I asked for a recommendation on an IPA, she gave me the Hazy IPA... what happened to the hops? I'm a double IPA bitter drinker, my lager loving husband drank it. The KO punch is more my speed. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't even ask why I wanted another beer even though we had others untouched on the table. She was weeded, seemed like the only one working inside and outside. There was no attention, no: how's the food?. Food turnover came out very fast, but maybe that is part of the problem, frozen, you could have at least seasoned it more. It's a cool spot, again a staple in Yonkers. It's chill and they have plenty of events advertised. It looks like it is here for the community, but it needs community flavors. Some sort of influence, especially in the food. The community deserves better food, even for a brewery. The host was on a call in the front, a personal call... wait, what? There is potential, It has the clientele, respect them with better tasting food and service.
I don't eat too much food when I'm there . The food is top notch regardless, I'm more coming back for the service Emily , Bartender/ waitress gave me ! The ambience is amazing at this time on Thursday. Beer flight experience 14$ plus 3$ tip 17$ in total Left me feeling like a star on the rise. I love the seating and ambience .
What an awesome cause to stop by at toys for tots a band and of course great beers to be had cider too if you enjoy and if you want some food, have a meal. The staff is lovely located in South Yonkers. The only thing you might have to watch. Is you have to find parking? Totally worth it.
A nice spot to hang out and have some food and drinks in Yonkers. The brewery is a cool spot that serves their own drafts and others.
Years come and go, and as every business, things go up and down. After a few bad apples and management taking care of them, its changed for the better. Today, it's packed to the gills, and im enjoying the atmosphere. Beers are the thing to come here for.. try all of them and then buy the pint. Buy a flight byt just buy some to take home. Food: dont eat the tacos.. It's not a mexican joint. Everything else is blessed. I personally get the cajun or dry rubbed wings, Brussels with bacon, yes Brussels, and the chicken and waffles. There are some days with live music and happy hours during the week until 7, I believe. Follow them on insta. Become friends with the bartenders and you might actually like the Manager Joe.
The service here was good. The woman who helped my table was friendly and would check in on us sparingly. I went here on an open mic night where they hosted bands and DJs. It gave warehouse vibes. Large on the inside with minimalistic decoration. The yellow walls and lighting made it seem dim in a not good way. I ordered the mangolada sour beer. The beer was good. It had great flavor, was light, refreshing, and definitely sour. As a non beer drinker I enjoyed it. The crowd is mixed. You have young and old. The music played is also a mix of generation. I would recommend this place if you needed a brunch spot.
Went here on a Monday afternoon. Our server/bartender Joe was phenomenal. He was working by himself. Serving the bar, tables & outside area. Hustling to run food and drinks, always polite and respectful during every encounter. We asked if we could bring our two puppies inside since it was windy out and he was extremely sweet and accommodating. The beer was delicious, nice ambiance inside, and food was tasty as well! Particularly loved the cauliflower appetizer and chicken quesadilla. Thank you for the great experience! Will be back!
I do have to say that when I first started looking into craft beer breweries for NYC what at least seemed to me not a terribly long time ago (but in actuality probably was) there was not that many breweries there. It definitely has increased noticeably. Sure, it's not what I would call "saturated" still like some cities but it definitely has increased. In a way because of this scratching off breweries for this city is a little bit easier and more manageable. Yonkers Brewing is just the latest to scratch off the list for the city and I did indeed like this one relatively well. We had one beer, an IPA called Ray's IPA. This was a fairly refreshing beer with it's citrus and dry-hopped flavor features. I do especially Ike dry hop flavor... Tartness also gives this IPA a little bit of a different spin as well. It was a pretty light IPA which makes it an enjoyable summertime beer and the timing for it was fairly well timed as it was summery day when we had it when the pattern of weather was deciding if Spring was still happening or if summer was going to take the stage.
We stopped here for lunch during the Yonkers street festival (three very hungry kids and parents). We ordered chicken fingers and Mac and cheese for the kids to share, the Mac and cheese tasted like velveeta cheese 100% (and that's not a compliment). The chicken tenders were ok, not a particularly generous portion or particularly fantastic tasting. The kids kind of picked at both. We ordered the sour beer and blonde, they were fine. Nothing amazing. But I must say, the ambience is kind of unique with the stainless steel beer tanks in the dining area. They also have live bands playing outside on Fridays and the weekend--very cool! Now to the food--I ordered avocado toast that was supposed to have grilled tomato and fried eggs. The eggs were seriously overdone (not oozy and drippy like you would expect) and completely void of seasoning. The toast was soggy whole-wheat toast, nothing exciting and the Tomato was just...a slice of tomato. Avocado was a teaspoon of avocado with chunks of onion. I couldn't eat it, it was that bad. Didn't try the home fries although my friend said they were good. Probably would only come back for the music and a drink. But be prepared to pay a lot for that beer! read more
Came here for their so called Halloween party, it was nothing special my friend wanted to come for the costume contest that never happened. They also had a dj which I wasn't expecting, the whole thing felt like a club not a brewery. The beers were avg, nothing blew me out is the water. The staff was very friendly though, and I enjoyed the wings which were crispy and not overly sauced. In reality this is more of a bar than a Brewery. read more

A good local brewery. Some of their craft beers are on the more expensive side, $8 for a 10 ounce pour. They serve food their own food, with a reasonably priced menu, sandwiches, burgers, small and big plates. Worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

This spot is amazing, it's much needed in this area. However, do not go out of your way to visit this brewery. But if you're local or somewhat nearby, I'd recommend you visit. Firstly, this spot is losing 1 star because of crappy shitty service(homie was dead and did not seem happy to be at work--which makes everyone else miserable) EXCEPT ME OF COURSE! Your bad day, definitely will not rub off on me. Onto our experience! We found this joint on Groupon, had an amazing deal. 4 flights 2 appetizers OR 2 flights 1 appetizer. PRETTY GOOD. Onto the flights, there's a specific flight that's really delicious it's sweeter and less bitter. GO WITH THAT ONE(ask server.) There's also a beer that tastes like weed lol, not yummy but interesting. I'd recommend the wings, so delicious. And I'll also recommend the nachos even better! Cool place to go with a group, or even just solo and chill at the bar. read more

Came here for Labor Day because we love beer and trying new places. First off the area is absolutely gorgeous, with views of the Hudson River and the NYC skyline in the background. Parking is available close to the brewing company but I assume that during the weekend it can get crowded so plan to look for parking further up like Riverdale Avenue. In regards to the brewing company I wasn't too impressed when walking in because there was no hostess or anyone to tell us where to sit. But as the the day went on the waitress and waiter we had pulled through and made the experience much better. The beers are pretty good but our favorite was the 914. We used the Groupon available which was fantastic because we had beer flights each and 1 appetizer for $18.00. The appetizer we chose was the wings which were delicious and well seasoned. Then we ordered the Mac and cheese and Chicken Greek salad that were definitely a fave as well. Finally we decided to order the brownie dessert which was tiny but packed with flavor, definitely a must try. Overall we will be coming back to enjoy some beers and delicious food. read more

Haven't tried the place yet but looking forward to next time I'm in the area. This review is for the awesome staff, just got off the train and was looking for a restroom. They were so kind and didn't have a problem of me using their restroom. I didn't feel obliged to be a customer to be welcomed. Thank you again and looking forward to coming back and try your place. Nice clean establishment and surrounding area. read more

This review went from a 2 to a four thanks to a change in meal and awesome service. A friend had the hotdog which comes with bacon and cheese and a side of fries he really enjoyed. Portion sizes are amazing and perfectly matched prices ($$) to go with. Beer was delicious and soda comes with free refills which is great. The pulled pork sliders however are in serious need of a makeover with some seasoning and fresher coleslaw, extremely not appetizing at all I could not get through it. Fortunately I opted for the burger instead with cheddar, bacon out of this world and cooked red onions and I have to say one of the best burgers in town along with fresh seasoned fries. That burger was made with love that's the only way to explain it. Totally redeemed with it. Awesome atmosphere, attentive servers. A must try, like go tomorrow. read more
We've been meaning to explore local spots a bit more so we decided to come out here for some beer and grub one spontaneous Saturday night. The place wasn't packed but I do think the space has potential and would be a great place to hang out with friends, particularly in the summer. The beer is actually very good and my fiance and I both enjoyed our choices. The food was slightly above average. Not bad but definitely has room for improvement. The deviled eggs were delicious, the Brussels sprouts were a little too greasy, and the sandwich we ordered didn't quite work because they used focaccia bread.. So yeah, food was 3 stars but over all I give the place 4 stars and I'd be open to coming back again. read more
2.5 stars rounded up. Come for the beer if anything. Decided to visit this brewery after leaving the nearby Hudson River Museum. I saw the good reviews (average 4-stars) and it was only about a 5 minute drive away. After driving through (not the best areas) on Yonkers, you get to the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront area which is nice and you can tell that they have invested a lot in attracting visitors. The area has a few parking sports but there are also parking meters along the waterway which take quarters (1 quarter is 15 minutes) or there is an option to pay by smartphone app. I was in the process of setting it up but got inpatient with the whole signing up for an account process and just put in the few quarters I had and got some more at the brewery and came back to refill. After not having the best experience here I read some of the reviews on here and fully agree that the wait staff seemed to be overloaded which caused some mistakes/neglect. So we entered and there were tons of seats, both in the front and also the benches in the back. The three of us stood around for about a full 5 minutes before I could even flag down a bartender and asked if I can seat myself and I was told I can sit anywhere. After we sat about 5-10 later a waitress came over to greet us. We ordered: ginger ale - $2.50, coffee $1.75, beer - $7, pulled pork nachos - $10, chicken wings - $10, chicken tenders - $9 and potato chips - $3.50. The board games I saw in the previous reviews looked cool as our little one would have enjoyed them. Sadly all the games were missing lot of pieces and could not be played. Waitress brought back my beer and the coffee for my fiance but no ginger ale for our little guy. Later on I flagged her down and reminded of the ginger ale, she had totally forgot, I was okay with that, we are all human and make mistakes right. The beer itself was good. I believe it was the Red Ale (Hoppy Red). The bar area seemed nice with lots of beer on tap. I don't know if they regularly run specials on drinks or have a happy hour. The food came out very quickly and it tasted that way as well, rushed. Chips were the highlight sad to say as they were crunchy and came with a great dipping sauce. "Pulled Pork Nachos" were a huge fail. A few nachos smothered in cheese whiz with raw jalepenos slices. The pulled pork topping was cold and not the best and they forgot the guac. After flagging down another waiter, he brought me a little 2 oz. plastic container of guac. The wing were very plain. Small fried wing covered in a seasoning of your choice, the dry cajun seasoning which we picked was not very good. As a failsafe I usually get wet/saucy wings as they "save" most blah wings. There were some chicken fingers that were fair. When it was time to go we got a box to go and the check. Checkout was done via a tablet at the table. She rang it up and handed the tablet back to me and told me to "pick a tip and sign". This got to me as it isn't the nicest way to ask and bit intrusive to stand over someone as they choose which tip to give (the tablet gives 4 options: 15, 18, 20, and ?25%). Keep in mind the staff there seemed very nice and was helpful overall. We were met with smiles throughout our visit. Not sure if it was lack of training or just being too overwhelmed, but lots of room for improvement. I have had great experiences at other breweries and I really wanted to like this place, I just found it hard to in the end. I would not mind returning maybe for a round of beers and the chips amongst a group of friends. Leave the little ones at home. I also noticed a family with 2 small children sitting next to us who were leaving soon after we arrived and the kids were begging the parents for pizza (there is a pizza shop next door). I know they are running a Groupon for beer flight and appetizers, which may not be a bad idea. read more

One of my friends have been ask me to go with him since this open a few weeks ago, This is my third time visiting a Brewing. The select of the beers that they have is very small, but I think is because there are still growing. one of the things I see very bad about the place is that there is no parking for the once that are going to visit, so they have to find parking on the streets, but the Brewing is very close to the train station, making easy for the once that are going to take the train or bus. The food is a little bit expense, and you can pay 20 dollars to 4 taste beers in 8onz cup. I had the: Yonkers Larger: Vienna-Style Larger Malty Flavors and aroma, spicy hops refreshing finish with 5.3% ABV. Yonkers Stout: American Stout, creamy, coffee, toffee, with a little bitter bite with 4.5%abv. Yonkers Smoked Marzen: smoked marzen style larger gentle mix of smoke and sweetness, noble hop, dry, larger finish with 5.2% ABV Yonkers BPA: Belgian-Sytle Pale ale Spicy flavors and aroma, fruit yeast, citrus hop burst. With 5.0 ABV. There have a lot of tables and TV so can sit down with yours friends and have a good time. I will come again to taste the others beers and see if they have a tours like the other brewing that I have gone before. read more

Inexplicable and inexcusable. Remember these as you read this review. I came here looking for wings. No one raves about the wings here so I tailored my expectations - it's a standard bar food, at worst it'll be just okay. I asked a bartender which flavor was her favorite. I now know when the response is, "eh, I don't know" run for the hills! They're wings! How does one "not know?" Inexplicable. After ordering garlic parmesan wings and buffalo wings I waited. 30 minutes. Inexcusable. They were given to me in a paper box and when I got home to eat them, the fried wings seemed as if they'd been steamed. I understand things can get soggy - but this was beyond it. Inexplicable. The buffalo sauce was water based? As it never adhered to the wing. In retrospect, it was oil based. No no no, it was oil. Just oil. It lacked buffalo flavor. The garlic Parmesan wings, those I had to take a picture of. I don't write Yelp reviews or call establishments to give my review, but it had to be done. The "garlic parmesan wings" had no flavor. None. They were so flavorless, I started to wonder if sickness was corrupting my tastebuds. Garlic and parmesan - two pungent flavors... The wings didn't even tasted salted. INEXPLICABLE. When I called I was told another person probably ordered garlic parmesan wings without the garlic and the parmesan. I nearly hung up the phone. When I asked her about the POOL OF OIL (pictures included), she said "they use butter." Well then. INEXCUSABLE. I wasn't angry when I called. I was sincerely concerned. She said the manager would call me to address this. It's been almost 5 days. Hence my writing this review. Inexcusable. Good luck to those who try Yonkers Brewery anyway. I like to think it was an off night and I hope they have a noteworthy beer selection. read more
I've been to this place twice, and most recently this past week. They have indoor and outdoor dining and all the employees are wearing masks. They still offer flights which isn't listed on the beer menu. I, however opted for the sangria which was better than I had expected. My boyfriend got the NYC big city Pilsner which was also really good. For appetizer we ordered the pretzel which we both loved but had too much salt, but we just removed the excess salt, an easy fix. For my main dish I got the short rib grilled cheese and my boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and both came with French fries, slaw and pickles but in the menu it stated it was supposed to come with chips as well, which we did not get, but no big deal! The first time I got my sandwich it was definitely cold and the cheese was not melted at all and the short rib came in a big chunk. This was definitely not what I was expecting and I tried it and did not like it so I mentioned it to the waiter and asked if he could heat it up so it could maybe taste better and he quickly apologized and sent for it to be fixed. Now the second sandwich that came out was completely remade and so much BETTER! The cheese was melted and gooey and the short rib was evenly distributed on the sandwich. Overall, I would definitely come back because the service was exceptional and to me that is as important as the quality & taste of the food. read more

It sucks when you really want to love a place but the wait staff made it impossible for me to give them a solid review. About a month ago one of my friend's was having a gathering all the way up in Yonkers at their brewery. Kind of a celebration gathering for her running the NYC marathon and wanted to invite everyone that donated to her charity organization. Things that are cool about this restaurant: Beer flights. Do it. Don't get a cocktail. Most of these were horrible. (Okay, that's a negative) But seriously, don't. Unless you like drinking mouthwash and orange soda with your liquor. Their beer list when I came in was decent. It wasn't mind-blowing beer. Rockaway and Big Alice (that's local in Queens) is significantly better as are the half a million breweries sprouting up in Brooklyn. My personal favorites: The Dunkel, Hoppy Belgo, Calypso, and Petite Saison. The Belgo was more unique with being just a touch hoppy but with a very nice bready finish. Mmmmm bread beer. They have 3 beer flights to choose from: The Hudson Line, 92 Main Street, and Yonkers Avenue. So much beer to choose from! So many options! I love options! Regardless, there will be a beer you will like a bit here among the huge list. Food - Decent. Nothing crazy or out of this world. At our table we had a variety of things, a dirty hot dog with a side of potato chips (Everything was a side of chips. In this day and age, if I'm drinking beer I'd like french fries.), burritos, chicken wings, and tacos. I had only ate the shrimp tacos and it was better than average. Substituted the potato chips with diced potatoes, like you do. My friend asked for cheese on her potatoes and they didn't bring it. But they were able to bring a variety of condiments and adhered to her wishes to have all of her taco fixings placed on the side. By the way, great freaking spicy chipotle dressing. Why is this a two star rating? They have board games! Which was amazing. One of the card games I'm actually seriously thinking of buying online because it was great for social gatherings. The reason for the rating is that our waitress failed to acknowledge me during the entire 3-4 hours I drank and ate and played board games here. She would take everyone's drink order, come back with their drinks, and not mine. I would flag her down to re-order my drink and she would ignore me completely. My friend had to order for me. If it happened once I would think, okay, maybe I talk too low, etc. etc. but it happened at least three or four more times. Whether I was loudly enunciating the order, waving my hands, it didn't do a damn thing. She would take everyone's order, forget mine, come back with everyone's drinks but mine, repeat. While we were all ordering food, she actually refused to take my food order and started walking away. She had a digital notepad on hand. My friend actually yelled at this point why she couldn't take one more order and the waitress looked flustered and just stammered "Because I can't!" I'm confused and kind of disturbed why she acted this way only towards me among a group of five. It was borderline embarrassing. Mostly frustrating because I just wanted a beer and shrimp tacos without having to beg for them. Thanks. read more
I never thought I'd travel all the way to Yonkers for a brewery, but I'm glad I did! Came here on a Saturday night because I had a groupon for two flights and an appetizer. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the overall experience and vibe of this place. The place looks rather small on the outside, but you actually walk into a large spacious area with tons of seating. We sat in the back and liked their selections of games so immediately started to play one. While we were playing we ordered our beers and appetizers. I liked how they already had pre-set flights on their menu. Sometimes I'll see one beer I want to try and it's hard to decide on other ones for my flight. Between 3 of us ordering flights, I tried almost all of their beers and thought they were all great. The one that stood out the most was the Sorachi Ace. It had a really unique flavor and went down really smooth. It's a must try if you go! For food we had the crunchy country chicken, which were really good! The corn flakes were a nice touch. We also had the rockaway sandwich which was tasty as well. The service was great and our server even gave my friend a mini tour after we missed the tour window. This is a great spot and I'd definitely come back. read more

I have been eagerly anticipating the opening of their brewery and it's finally here! Yonkers needed something like this! Beer, food, and friends. The beer is delicious, the food is on point, but the real secret to their success is how the staff makes you feel as if you have known them for years! This is a great place to go and hang out and it really is a welcome addition to downtown Yonkers. Thanks for the delicious food, the family atmosphere, and of course the great beer! read more

I came here after I had a purchased a groupon that included two flights of beer and an appetizer a long with a tour. A few key points to keep in mind: 1. If you don't drive.. this Brewery is very far from Brooklyn. You will need to take the train or bus to the metro north and the times at which the metro north departs can be very annoying. Sometimes the metro north train will bypass Yonkers and you end up in Terrytown if your not careful. 2. The beers aren't your standard beers as I got two different flights the beers were all brewed in house and I felt as if some of them were strongly lacking good solid flavor while others were very good. 3. Food is good, but not great to the point where I can see myself going back just for there food. 4. I feel like they should have some live entertainment more often. I came on a sunday night and there was nothing other than some lady crawling on the floor and two drunk girls dancing. 5. The staff is really sweet the problem is they seem overworked to give customers individual attention. We tried to get a hold of a waiter for 10 minutes after we were seated. 6. They have board games but half of them are being used and the others are just missing pieces or games that require multiple players etc. I don't think I would come back if I do come back It would be to get an appetizer which I enjoyed which was the chicken tenders, with the bbq sauce. I also thoroughly enjoyed one of there dark malt like beers similar to a homemade Guinness. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to come to this brewery BUT, there was a beautiful Restaurant overlooking the water not to far away that I might go back for. All in all good experience but not great. read more

I came here with my boyfriend and we each ordered a flight of beers and shared an appetizer. I got the 92 Main Street and he got the Yonkers Avenue. The brewery tour was extremely interesting. We got to see the process of how the different beers are brewed in-house, when the flavoring is added, and how it then goes to the tap. The 92 Main contained darker beers, like stouts and lagers. The flight came with Vienna Lager, It's Spelt Saison, Vanilla Stout (which I substituted for Shower Time Pale Ale), and Belgian Turkish Coffee Dubbel. The Belgian one had a very strong odor and almost sour aftertaste. The Yonkers Ave. contained lighter beers and was more fit for summertime. The flight came with Hefeweizen, Summer Solution, Calypso, and Shower Time Pale Ale. Overall, this flight is suited more for people who don't like hops or bitterness, while the 92 Main is for people who can appreciate a good stout or lager. For food, we ordered the Maple Bourbon wings and they were very tasty; we would definitely order them again. It was a great first visit and experience. I took off a star because I saw one of the owners in the kitchen licking her finger after trying some food. read more

I've been waiting and waiting for this place to open. I was not disappointed. They've had their beer in Whole Foods for a while now, but it was nice to try some of their other brews. The Smoked Marzen was my favorite....smokey and sweet, it's like bacon in a glass! They have typical pub/brewery food. I didn't have any, but it looked fine. There's also a pizzeria right next door, which is probably doing much better business now that the brewery is there. The space was large and clean. Staff was friendly and the crowd was a good mix. The only problem I see is the parking situation...there are a few metered spots in front. Otherwise, there's a parking garage a block away that will run you about $5 I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time here, especially in the summer with outdoor seating. I foresee a lot of new businesses popping up in downtown Yonkers now that the brewery is here. read more

I'm impressed with their beer lineup: Constantly rotating trials of new pale ales, different styles from around the world, and different flavors to match the season. The head brewer is clearly inventive and knows what he is doing. The Cascade Pale, Meridian Pale, Strong Blonde, and Belgian Dubbel are my favorites. I usually keep a growler at home full of one of these. (They will fill your growlers at the bar.) It is a great spot to drop in for a quick dinner during the week, or a place to socialize with friends on the weekend. There are regular events at the brewery, too (holidays, benefits, fundraisers, etc.) Their food is pretty good, though the menu is small. I'd like to see an expansion (burgers, fries, more sides), but it isn't fair to rate a joint based on what you think they should have instead of what they actually do have, so I'm still giving them 5 stars. What they do have is good, fresh, and is brought out in a timely manner. Their menu is still evolving since they've only been open a few months, so there is probably going to be regular improvements. The Rockaway Sandywich with a side of either patatas bravas or brussels sprouts is my go-to. Delicious. Yonkers Brewing is open for lunch during the week and brunch on weekends, in additional to the regular dinner/evening drinks times. I like working in this place over an extended lunch. There is free wifi, so bring your laptop, grab a drink, and get some work done outside of the office! The only thing that is a little odd is that they serve everything on biodegradable (read: disposable) plates and give you disposable utensils. It makes things a feel a little cheap. This place is only a few months old, so they are probably still refining their processes and selection. It is worth trying out a few times to get a feel of the place. I've found their staff to be very friendly and helpful, the food to be solid, and the beer to be very good. I go about once a week, either for lunch or dinner and a beer, and to get my growler refilled. I'm really glad this place opened. The waterfront area needed a place like this. read more
