I bought a Morgan Wallen T-shirt. It's the first one I found that I really liked. It was very long so I took it here to have it shortened, I had never been there before. I even pinned and explain to her. That's the link that I wanted it to be and she's shortened it probably 4 inches inches above that.! It has decals of his song titles on the front. she did not have to touch them. They were higher up well she did with the iron. And never bothered to mention. I would not recommend this place for alterations. I have learned my lesson. read more

Wanted to have a zipper replaced in black. He showed me navy, then black with bigger teeth. I asked how much and was told $28. Then I was told I had to pay upfront!! No thanks! You would have my coat!! Nope, seems very high priced! Will not try back!! read more

There are very few people who do alterations in the area. I think this must be why it was so expensive -$28 - to take in legs of jeans. I wasn't even very impressed with outcome. Having said that, I do appreciate Yong's as an option. read more

I gave Yong's a delicate shirt to repair. It was my fault for not testing them out on something easier or less expensive to learn my lesson on. What's that lesson? DON'T GO TO YONG'S! I brought in tunic top which had cotton tulle on the top (delicate see thru material). There were a couple of small seams that were beginning to come out, less than half an inch each. We discussed the repair and what I DIDN'T want them to do. I also made it very clear that if they had any doubt or difficulty to not do the repair which was fine by me because the shirt wasn't so bad. They said that this material couldn't be sewed so they'd have to make the repair by gluing. We talked about them gluing very small, thin, stripes of lace along the edge of the seam to reinforce it Two weeks later I come back and they (badly) glued GIANT ugly patches of lace all over the shirt, not along the seam, like a 2 year old doing crafts for the first time. To add insult to injury the lace was glued on with dirty fingers (or the lace was dirty) because I can see small yellow stains on it. My shirt was ruined and it couldn't be undone! I asked them to refund me half the cost of the shirt since it was fairly new and I still had the receipt. I thought that this was only fair since it was clear to see the shirt was destroyed. They refused and let me go without paying $6.85 for the repair (duh!). I can't sew and I know I could have done a way better job. Unlike the poster below I didn't find them particularly polite or apologetic. Unfortunately I also think that language is a barrier. There was only one person in the store who spoke some English both times I came, so its impossible to know if what you're communicating is correctly going through to the person who's working on your clothes read more

Had been going here for years, but the attitude has changed dramatically. Last time brought in a pair of shorts with two microscopic holes, and asked they be, to the best of their ability, made as little as noticeable as possible., Started going off on me about them not offering any guarantees (which I hadn't even asked for), because one customer would be happy with the work and another angry so no guarantees. Then started rambling about how they would put a patch inside the leg which would come off in the first washing of the garment. When I asked why they put the patch on in the first place if it's just going to fall off the first time it's washed, he kept repeating over and over that the patch would fall off almost immediately.He never answered why they put it on at all. As I left he shouted after me that they would demand the payment, if I decided to have the work done, upfront. In the years I had been going there, always paid upon picking up item.That was never the policy before. NEVER going here again. read more

I cannot for the life of me figure out why I keep coming back to Yong's. I have NEVER arrived on the day and time my items are supposed to be done and been able to pick them up. Always an apology and a request to come back tomorrow. About half the time they screw up the work, doing careless things like sewing on patches way off center and crooked, misspelling embroidery, or forgetting portions of work. They also take FOREVER! I recently dropped off a single pair of pants that needed a hem repair on one leg where the original thread had snagged and come out. They said it would be a week. We are talking about 90 seconds worth of work to those who are skilled at such things, so it shouldn't really take that long, but whatever. Then I go pick them up, and they have not lined up the hem correctly so it is a bubbly break instead of a crisp one. They also unhemmed and rehemmed the other leg that had been fine when I brought the pants in, but is now bubbly as well. The pants do not look good and I am looking for another place to have them fixed. I think there are some major organization issues here, as the place is always a disaster and I think the reason they don't get things done is because they can't keep track of it all. Still, as inept as they are, everyone working here is extremely friendly and they are sincerely apologetic when something goes wrong. read more

I tried to take my prom dress there to be hemmed and online they advertise hemming as costing $20. I took it in and they said they are so busy and so it will be over $100. Tell me where that extra $80 is going? nuf said. read more

Military: Took in my service dress and blues shirts to be altered (braids, hemming of skirt, and tucking in of the shirt). The process was very quick (less than 5 min) for drop off and explanation. Within a min of walking in I was in my uniform and he was pinning the alterations. He knew the regs already which made it very easy. They were completed in 1 week. Prices were fair for the quick turnaround. My friend his army ASU's in and was very impressed with the service as well. He got the clips for shoulder boards, hemming of pants, and braids. Looks sharp. Again prices very fair. 10/10 would recommend for any ROTC/servicemembers in CU area esp. if you can't make the drive out to a base and need alterations in a hurry. read more

The owner always has a condescending, vaguely annoyed tone, and that just sort of adds salt to the wound. I don't enjoy being talked to like that, but I attributed it to a non-native English speaker who was using different inflections and cadence in speaking. Yeah, no, he's just a patronizing unpleasant human. Clothing article 1: Dockers khakis with the stretchy part starting to come apart. These are the elastic waist dockers. I wear a 34, but i fluctuate, so I like this style with the elastic waistband. Part of the fabric which attaches to the elastic band was beginning to separate (a slow rip). To be clear, this wasn't the stretchy material, it was the cotton part that is sewed to the stretchy material. I asked if they could simply sew it up to reinforce it. It was in an easily accessible place, and could've been easily placed on a sewing machine. The answer was no and I should go buy a new pair of higher quality pants. I was confused, and the lady simply told me to buy a new pair. The pants were in good shape otherwise. But, I get it, they don't want do it. Clothing article 2: Jeans with a hole in the crotch Instead of sewing a piece of fabric behind the hole to help conceal the original hole, they put a large patch on the outside. They also sewed concentric lines all throughout the patch. I was befuddled to say the least. What I've gathered about this place is that they intentionally do things like this to troll their customers. Clothing article 3 (the final straw): A flannel robe with too large arm openings I brought in a brand new flannel robe to have them reduce the size of the arm openings. The lady kept saying saying things with the word "side" in them. I couldn't for the life of me understand her. She gestured to the shoulder part, and I tried several times to clarify. Finally, I figured out that she thought the robe was double sided. So she was trying to tell me that I wouldn't be able to wear the robe on the other side after the work. Well, the robe was not reversible, why is why I was completely befuddled. I explained that I simply wanted to reduce the size of the wrist openings, and that the entire arm would be reduced too, which was fine. It's not complicated- you cut a triangle shape out of it and resew it back together. I made very clear i didn't care about the any aesthetic considerations. I could tell she didn't really didn't want to do the work, and I flat out asked her "Do you not want to do it?" She insisted it was fine, so we kept discussing it. I should've just walked out then and there. Describing what I wanted was a tedious process. I said that I really wanted the openings to be narrow so I could just barely get my hand through it. She argued with me on that, and told me the opening was going to be bigger than what I requested. I wanted the opening fairly snug so it would not slip since the arms were a little long. But I acquiesced. Again, all that was needed was to cut a triangle and resew it back together, to make the arm opening smaller. I get that there was some intricate work that would have to be done where the arm meets the shoulder. That's fine. But these are supposedly professionals. I was baffled at all the pushback and feigned confusion. Why am I explaining how to do it? Why am I being told that I can't have what I'm requesting? Well, instead of cutting a triangle shape out, they did some bizarre thing where they simply folded the fabric up and sewed it together, all wadded up. So there was a big clump of fabric running down the entire arm and especially at the wrist openings. Additionally, they shortened the length of the arm so it barely reached my wrist any more. I liked the fact that it was too long- I just wanted the wrist openings narrowed. That's it, that's all! Again, I have no doubt they did this intentionally as some sort of passive aggressive tactic, and that is why they are getting 1 star. They also didn't reduce the opening barely at all, thus making the whole thing pointless. I asked the owner, and in his condescendingly patronizing voice, he told me some gibberish excuse that didn't make sense. I want to be clear that I am a polite and patient customer. I treat people with respect and try to be very pleasant. If they had just said "we'd rather not do this", I would've been fine with that. Instead, she constantly looked for excuses, and almost seemed like she didn't know how to do it. I had to explain what was needed. It wasn't complicated. They completely ruined the robe. I took it to another alteration place in town, and they were completely dumbfounded as to why Yong's would wad up the material and do what they did. By the way, the job they did do was poor and even had incomplete sewing. I think they are only capable of very basic and very simple repairs. They can't do stuff that requires professional level alterations. read more

This place is great! I've mainly had them hem jeans, and they have done them quickly and well. If your jeans a have a more unique bottom, they can even attempt to reattach the original once the pant is shortened. Very pleased overall! read more

i have had several pairs of pants hemmed here. they are fast, friendly, and are always willing to get it done sooner for no extra charge. i'm sure i could find a place to get my pants hemmed for a cheaper price, but i like seeing friendly faces. fyi - they charge $8 to hem pants, more for other options like keeping the original hem. the entrance to the parking lot is difficult and people who park in that lot can't park between the lines for whatever reason. read more

Yong's revived my favorite pair of skinny corduroy pants!! I had somehow managed to rip a huge hole in them (in a fairly unmentionable place, no less), and when I asked around for a good tailor, three different people all said this was a good place to go. I was pretty scared by some of the reviews about this place - after all, these were my favorite pants! But I figured I sadly had nothing to lose, so I handed the pants over to them and hoped for the best. Well, maybe repairing huge holes in skinny corduroys is their thing, because Yong's really did patch and sew the life back into my pants (and for only $4)! The end result was functional as well as aesthetically pleasing (unless you stare reaaaallllyyyy hard...and you have no business staring there anyway! ;)). They were also friendly and polite, and my pants were ready when they promised. Thank you Yong's, you saved me from having to drop a ridiculous amount of money on a new pair of pants! read more
