Bridal & Formal Wear Alterations by Azar - Back of pants

Bridal & Formal Wear Alterations by Azar

    (17 reviews)

Sept. 24th 2022 had an appointment for alterations, six pair of pants and one skirt. She wanted…read morethree weeks to do the alterations (take in waist), but I asked for two weeks. I arrived two weeks later (Oct. 8th), with an 8th pair, and to pick up the seven I dropped off two weeks earlier. None were done. She said she could have them Monday. She handed me the seven pairs, I took them home. Three were the right size, four were still too large. Pattie's excuse was "they are the same pants, right?". No, some were larger than others, that is why they were all pinned separately. I asked for my money back, she refused. I had to bring them back. I wanted these done for a four week vacations. The three done correctly, two I took on vacation. I took three of the four that were still too large back to her. One of the pants I took on the vacation, the stitching broke. The thread must have been crappy, because the pants have an elastic band. I go back in December 17th to pick them up. Pattie has had them for two months. Just tossed in a cubby below her cash register area. NOT DONE! Her reason, she was sick for a month. She said she called me. No she didn't. She tells me she is will be in at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. I call. She is not there. I had to have a friend pick them up a couple weeks later. Still thrown in the cubby, not hanging nicely in the back. My girlfriend had to ask! for a bad to take them home in. Well... of the four pair, one is still too big. I wish I could post pictures. These were tailored dress pants. They now have gathered -crooked- ruching in the back. They look like crap. Professionalism awful. Tailoring, who does this to pants? Stay away.

It makes me so sad to have to write a negative review about a small business. Azar, who used to be…read morethe tailor and the person who earned most of the positive reviews, is no longer there. For the past year, I've continued to bring in my clothing for basic alternations which have been performed by Patti. During this time, never once was an order ready when she said it would be. I would often make 50 minute drives to the shop only to have to return again, sometimes as many as 3 times. This also happened for a dress being altered for an out of town wedding and I had to go shop for something else to wear. I had always been kind when the orders were not ready but this time I had to tell her I could no longer give her my business. The final straw was when I brought in a pair of trousers to be taken in and was told they would be ready in two weeks. Patti had me put them on and then she lpinned all of the areas that would be altered. I came in two times after the due date to pick them up and they were not ready. On the third visit she could not find them until she noticed them in a ball under the cash register. When she pulled them out, the alteration markers or pins were no longer there. She looked at me and said "can you remind me what I was supposed to be doing to these?" I asked for the pants back, and in tears, I went home. I didn't understand if all clients received this type of service or if she was just doing this to me. Since I pre-paid, I called and asked for a refund since she didn't complete the service. When we went in to pick it up, she was visibly mad to have to refund the money. I wish that I could say this is the same place that Azar ran.
