With all the trash talk about them, much of the world has a special affinity for these establishments nonetheless, whether it's a grand Las Vegas buffet brunch, an extravagant all you can eat feast in Dubai or a place like the King Buffet in Pelham, a countryside low cost, high volume spot to feed the masses of the blue collar class. King Buffet opened in 2023 in a space formerly occupied by Golden Corral. It's pleasantly renovated and as clean as an establishment can be for a buffet concept. There are all the classics here and a few nice extras, like crab. The seafood at King Buffet is plentiful, but to be fair, not particularly good. The crawfish are somehow extremely tasteless, not because they are not spiced, but they just don't taste like crawfish. That's something I've never encountered before. The coconut shrimp is subpar. Mongolian beef is very loosely reminiscent of beef. With that said, all the dishes are not bad either, they are just not great. Where King Buffet shines is the service, with extremely attentive wait staff and superb cleanliness that results from that. As a whole, it does justice to this category of food and there is absolutely no reason to pass by if craving a buffet style meal.

The doors were locked bc the carpet cleaners were there. The cashier got the manager. He opened the door for us to come in after 1 person said no. Roy Miles, the manager said to come on in and don't worry about anything. The waitress was very sweet and never changed her attitude. She was so sweet. She sent us a bag of cookies and smiled and gave me a big hug. I hope we tipped her good. We also gave the manager a tip bc the register was already shut down. Mr. Roy Miles and Ms. Lodi were so nice, even though they should have been closing. Their attitude was so amazing. Everyone needs people like that they work with or have working for them. She gave us excellent service, checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal, and made us feel truly welcome. She was friendly, attentive, kind, and professional. Nothing was missing from the service -- everything she did was right in our eyes. Rebecca L., the cashier, was also very friendly. Lottie stopped by to say hello, Teresa recognized us and waved, and the manager was very nice and waved at us too. This Golden Corral has a warm, welcoming feeling. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered.
