This was our last visit to Yogurtland in La Verne. Unfortunately, the overall experience has really gone downhill. The shop was noticeably dirty--floors needed mopping, counters weren't wiped down, and the whole place just felt unclean. The toppings selection was very limited, which was disappointing. On top of that, the employee working seemed to be in a bad mood--his energy was off, he wasn't welcoming, and didn't even offer lids for our to-go yogurts. I'm sure the owner knows this is coming. Unfortunately this was the closest location to me which I will never step in again. I'm not sure who I was dealing with but I'm pretty sure it was the franchise owner when myself and family went to purchase five cups. After weighing four of the five, the price already seemed high. Placing the 5th cup on brought my total to approximately $70 where I would normally pay $40. Something was off. The Manager stated that they increased prices but when we pulled everything off the scale, it was reading 5.6 ounces. He said that didn't matter and that everything was fine. I said let's try and reset this thing to 0 and see what happens. Instead of doing it, he just argued with us until we said we're not paying for any of it since the scale is off. He argued saying that we already poured it so we have to pay for it. I said something was off with the scale as this was more than $20 more than usual. So he started wiping down the scale which had other things on it which ultimately made it read zero. We then weighed it and it surprisingly came out to a total of approximately $40. There was no apology, he was pissed that we saw that he was trying to overcharge us with a faulty scale. Tried to hide his deception with a 10% discount. The guy was so argumentative it was ridiculous. Paid for the yogurt, walked out of there and took it home which we've never done. We've always eaten there. I will never go in there again. Not because the scale was dirty because that could've been an honest mistake but the way he reacted when we noticed it was off shows that we called out his intentional deceit. Went in around 2:30pm. Place was empty. Guy (owner?) came out, I asked for sample cup. He only gave me one. I asked, "Can I have another one?" He said no, only one per person. I've been a longtime Yogurtland customer at various locations, and this was the first time I was told this. I said really? He gave me a second one and said "Next time, only one". I was the ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE - if there were others or crowded I would understand, but whatever. I went over to see what flavors they had. At least 2 dispensers were not working. I grabbed Dulce de Leche and it was really sweet, as if it hadn't been properly processed. I then grabbed Chocolate Raspberry. It had a strange chemical taste. I tossed it in the trash and said, "Thanks, I don't think I'll be back". Zero customer service. Very disappointing. My trip here today was majorly disappointing. They only had 1/2 of the store with functioning flavors and the fruit toppings looked like they were sitting out for a while. The cookies and brownie type toppings were too crumbly as well and the frozen yogurt was watery. It melted instantly the moment we even got it into our cups. Wow... I used to work at yogurtland back in the day and I'm pretty shocked with this one. It's always dirty inside. Machines are always a mess and the toppings are even worse. No one greets you when you walk in. The staff is always in the back and they must see you on the camera because then they come and check you out once you're ready. The staff is never in uniform and always in random clothing lol the hours are also VERY random. I just don't understand. Yogurtland is a corporate business not a mom & pop shop. Their yogurt is great. The location is clean and well kept. We went in on Saturday night at 830pm, and the girl behind the register seemed angry we showed up. Their hours on the weekend show open until 9 pm, but they already had many of the lights turned off. Many of the yogurt dispensers were shut down. She was rude and brief at the register. On September 28th, I visited around 45 p.m. and the first thing I noticed was that two of the machines were out of service (it may have been three) which meant that 4-6 flavors were unavailable. I suspect that the employees simply did not want to refill the machines and washed/closed them early. The toppings were unusual and not very appealing. Like two repeats of graham crackers? Whole and crushed? Most of my favorite toppings were unavailable. Lastly, at checkout the gentleman scanned my gift card and said "card invalid." He tried again as I was certain I had money on the card, and he still said, "card invalid." This is falsehood because on September 30th just two days later I used the card at the San Dimas store without issue. I am hoping that corporate will investigate this store as it was really a poor reflection on the Yogurtland business. I will not return to this location. read more

Driving up, we thought it was closed since some of the inside lights were off, there were no customers in the store and no clerk behind the register. We entered, no one greeted us, trash, food and sticky stuff all over the floor, clerk only appeared after we reached the register. We ate in our car and watched the clerk as he talked on his phone and scoop stray toppings back into their bins on the toppings bar with his bare hand. Then he disappeared to the back and we didn't see anyone the remainder of the time we were in our car. No cleaning, no customer service, sloppy appearance and filthy store. I am a big fan of Yogurtland. As with the Arcadia store, my favorite thing about this business is also my pet peeve: their incredible flavors are introduced... And discontinued... Throughout the year. I suppose this marketing strategy works with McDonald's for the McRib, so maybe they're onto something... An interesting note about this location, is that parking can be a little difficult. This is due in large part to the fact that the large strip mall, with a few anchor tenants and several small ones, has a lot of businesses. Once you find parking, however, you will be greeted as you walk in the door, offered a sample cup without even having to ask, and enjoy a clean and friendly atmosphere. The toppings always appear fresh gosh - even the fruit - - and they do a nice job of keeping overspill and misplaced serving spoons from becoming unsightly. I learned something from a four-year-old kid here today: he showed me how he goes to the "toppings bar" first, and put a layer down in the bottom of the cup before covering it with yogurt. Instant froyo parfait! For the win, kid. As a Pasadena kid, I didn't come out here very often growing up. As it turned out, this whole area used to be a little more then open space... Wayback win, we used to drive out Foothill to a place called Griswold's. Other than that and the fairgrounds, and maybe Claremont colleges, there wasn't much out here. Now, it's strip malls and track housing as far as the horizon. Granted, that doesn't do much for my amateur astronomy and amateur herpetology that I used to enjoy out here with my dad as a child. It's in the same plaza as a lot of other businesses, like Starbucks. The interior is clean, bright, and easily maneuverable. The service was pleasant. Quick transactions. Updated review. Came tonight (Tuesday, November 13, 2018 6:30 PM). It's been a few months since we've been here. Tonight I was reminded why I don't come here more often. 1) Parents fail at watching their kids more closely. I watch them stick their filthy little unsanitary hands in the various toppings. Disgusting. When my daughter was little, I would've never allowed that just out of respect for other people. Oblivious parents need to pay attention to what their kids are doing! 2) Too damn noisy in here (because of the concrete floor, high ceiling, and glass everywhere) even the slightest noise is amplified. It's not fun being in this loud room when it's full of people. It's actually quieter eating your yogurt outside on the patio even with all the traffic noise on Foothill. Tonight they were out of most yogurt flavors. Very little selections available and a couple of yogurt machines were also broken. I really don't understand why I even bother to come here at all. This miserable place is so poorly managed. This Yogurtland does not cut it. Great for kids though because irresponsible parents treat this place as playground for their kids... as they cut in and out if the line in front of you and play with the toppings within their reach. Management needs to put a stop to this unacceptable behavior immediately. I'm done for good with this Yogurtland. I'm going to try and find a yogurt place where the staff does the yogurt for you and adds the toppings for you because they are protected behind glass and the little kids can't get to them. read more

Came to this Yogurtland at about 9:32 pm last night. All doors were wide open and lights bright on. Once it was time for me to pay, I was approached by the cashier. She rudely says "We close at 9:30, next time you can't be here" " We are closed already" * As a former yogurtland assistant manger, she would've been written up in an instant. Common sense, you don't leave the doors wide open if the restaurant is closed. Yogurtland procedures is to lock doors when working hours are closed.
