This Sunday I had an amazing slow flow class with Whitney! She was a great instructor with a cool vibe and a killer playlist.

I used to be a hot yoga freak some ten years ago. I'm talking going every day and sweating disgusting amounts in a tiny room with a strong stench of BO. Then I stopped and started doing more cardio-heavy workouts, which, incidentally, has given me a lot of tightness and kinks that yoga would have sorted out. The upshot of my spiel is - I'm back to yoga now. I certainly notice a difference after intentional stretching and I'm not disciplined enough to remember to do it on my own. I tried Restore at YogaSix and it was AMAZING. I loved the focus and time spent on individual poses. I've done vinyasa before and it was all right - the flow sometimes gets too fast for me and my wrists don't like too much time spent in down dog. This class was super relaxing and restorative, not too strenuous at all, and incorporates blocks, a bolster, and a strap. It's very heated but because you're moving pretty slowly, I wasn't sweaty afterwards. I appreciated the instructor gave a heads-up that she'd offer hands-on assistance but she'd respect any indication if that's not your thing. I've taken a few classes before where the instructor will get right up in your space - I don't mind necessarily but I know that's not others' cup of tea. The next day, I took Sculpt and Flow and it absolutely kicked my butt. I was a puddle halfway through. It had been a while since I had sweat pouring out of every pore from a workout. The class is heated, which feels nice in the beginning when you come inside from the cold, and then rapidly becomes a furnace. The sequence is extremely fast, with minimal breaks, and while you're encouraged to go at your own pace, I couldn't keep up with the latter half. Two very different yoga classes but I liked the variety and schedule here. They run some good specials on classes/packages, especially if you're a student in the area. Mat rentals available but I think most people brought their own. Lockers and cubbies for putting away shoes and coats. Really nice, clean yoga space that didn't have the stereotypical hot yoga funk. Everything is perfect for me at this studio! I am a senior so restorative yoga is my aim. I always leave happy and refreshed. So far I experienced 3 instructors and although they each have different routines, I was equally satisfied each time. Somehow my recent review has been deleted. I am not sure if it is controlled by Yelp or by the business owner. This studio does not offer morning classes as they did before, and I was explained that it was because many people freeze their membership for summer and this is why they have eliminated the morning classes since April. Their schedules have been frequently changed without notice by management's decision. I signed up this studio because of the morning classes. Now I can barely attend. It is very sad that their business needs to be downsized and cutting back all the early morning classes. BTW, the teachers are awesome and I love all the classes. It is just sad to see many morning yoga friends moved to other studios, and I need to find a new place. read more

Great yoga studio with good classes and kind instructors. I always enjoy coming here.

The facility, front desk staff, and especially teachers are amazing. I LOVE the lights and the music playlists. I have done almost all of the classes. Here is my take: 1. Hot Yoga - set poses, always very hot (hotter when more crowded). Several excellent teachers. 2. Power - my favorite! Teachers create a fast vinyasa flow, often different every time and with each instructor. Love it when it's a pop focussed playlist - this varies with the instructor's preferences. Also heated! 3. Sculpt and Flow - my co-favorite with Power! This class will absolutely kick your butt. It's essentially 5-10 minutes of yoga at the start of class, with 35-45 minutes of HIIT training, then 5 minutes of yoga stretching to cool down. The class is very fast paced. They have lots of hand weights available, which you almost always use. Also they have bands, which you sometimes use. Cardio bursts, weight reps, followed by challenging still strength-building yoga poses. Not technically heated, but the studio gets hot by the end of class from body heat. I'm always dripping with sweat by the end. 4. Restore - kind of like the Yoga6 version of Yin Yoga. Very relaxing, blue and green lights usually, soft music of the singer-song writer or spa variety. They provide the equipment you need and each class makes use of bolsters, blocks and straps. I go with my 12 year old daughter and she loves it! It's relaxing and inspiring. Not heated, but warm. I have not tried Slow Flow. I LOVE IT when Y6 does the special classes, like a Taylor Swift or Pop Princess Sculpt and Flow, or Flow for a Cause events. They are always full and energetic. A few caveats: this is not a spiritually focussed studio. I think all the instructors have mad respect for that aspect of yoga, but it's really not that focus of the classes. In my personal opinion, I wouldn't mind a bit more of that kind of thing, But I do like that I feel like my time is always respected and that the focus seems to be on our practice, doing what feels right in our bodies, and well - working out. I will occasionally take a class or workshop somewhere else that has more spiritual instruction, etc and realize how much I like it once in a while. read more

YogaSix is a beautiful studio with warm and excellent instruction. I'm a Yoga Instructor, and very selective about where I practice. YogaSix is beautiful, incredibly clean, and the heat is strong. The lighting is beautiful and not distracting. I'm so impressed by the efficiency of the method in the hot class: challenging and relaxing at the same time, all in one hour. Great studio! Boutique in the very best way, making new comers feel like they are being welcomed back by old friends. I was nervous to restart my yoga practice again after almost a decade off, but then I walked into this studio and knew I made the right choice! I have only taken one class, so I can't give a five-star review, but my first class was great. I am not a regular yoga practitioner, so I was looking for a studio that offered a variety of class types with instructors who gave great instruction. I have been attending classes for a few months and find myself working my schedule around getting there for a class a few times a week. I have enjoyed every class I have taken and the instructors are all great. I love the music and the lights and have gotten to know what type of music some of the instructors play in their classes (which is a bonus)! The best thing is that I am feeling stronger than I have in years and continue to attend which is not typical for me. I hope the summer schedule allows for me to continue to attend with the same consistency. read more
