Gloria is an amazing Qigong teacher. She explains things on a very basic level which I love. It's so easy to get lost in her flow. I've been practicing qigong with Gloria for months now and I feel my Qi and energy level is flowing more freely. I'm no longer in pain all over my body. I have been doing yoga with Gloria once a week for over a year now. She changes the classes up depending on the requests of the students and keeps us all on our toes. Love her classes! Right now, the classes are small, so you get a lot of personal attention. Gloria is very flexible (ha ha) and changes the classes to provide variety and modifies her routine to accommodate the needs of the students. She does a mix of hatha and vinyasa yoga, and the routines improve strength, flexibility and balance. She provides blocks - helpful to the not-so-flexible - and always brings some mats, too. She is warm, approachable and funny, but she also has a spiritual side, and we begin and end with breathing and/or meditation exercises. After a very stressful day, I felt calm and relaxed by the end of her class last night. I like the music she uses - it's very soothing, and fits with what we do in the class. I seem to be stuck at beginner in spite of doing yoga for 25 years on and off (mostly off, that's why I never get beyond beginner, I suppose) I am not flexible and have some knee problems. Gloria suggests modifications for poses that I can't do, and I always feel challenged by the work-out and push myself, yet I haven't been sore yet the next day. What's up with that??? Cost of classes is about average for the area. You can save some money by buying a multiclass pass. read more

Gloria is a fantastic yoga/insanity and overall fitness coach. I have been going to Gloria's Sunday yoga classes for about a year now, and attending her Insanity classes for the last 3 months. I will review both here. Yoga: Gloria is a very patient and dedicated instructor. We are usually a small group on Sundays, ranging from 6 to 8 yogis. This allows Gloria to walk around the class, paying attention to everyone's postures, and correcting them if need be. Her classes are truly for everyone: for those new to yoga and those with more experience. Gloria will offer suggestions for modifications as she goes along, ranging from giving more of a challenge for her advanced students to alternative postures for the expectant mother. And you do feel very zen after a class. Insanity: Insanity is great for those who are looking to take their fitness up a notch: especially when you've reached a plateau and can't seem to shed those last few pounds or get a flatter stomach, no matter how many crunches you do. Yes, it's gruelling, and you might find yourself cursing during the first few times you try Insanity, but believe me, it gets easier the more often you go. I have a flatter stomach, and a more toned behind thanks to Gloria's coaching and Insanity. I look better in my clothes and feel more confident as a result. At $10 per class, you really can't go wrong. Do your body a favor, and give Yoga/Insanity with Gloria a try! read more

I had never done yoga but wanted to explore the practice when I found out I was pregnant. I am so happy to have found Gloria to work with for private prenatal sessions. Before our 1st session, Gloria wanted to make sure she tailored the practice to my needs and asked great questions to ensure I would be happy and to meet my goals. Since I started with Gloria, I have also taken some group classes and nothing compares. It's amazing how she can make little adjustments to my body making the session so much more useful. In a large class setting you don't get the individual attention to maximize your practice. Gloria builds each session according to your energy that day and what you want to focus on. Gloria teaches yoga at our workplace. This is the first time yoga has been offered at work, so there are a lot of newbies to yoga, including myself. Gloria is an excellent instructor. During class, she monitors students to make sure they are in doing the movements and poses correctly. I also appreciate that each session has a different focus, which keeps interest high and really works different parts of the body. We've almost completed the first set of classes, and the next set of classes already has 2X the number of people signed up, a testament to the positive word-of-mouth that has made its way around the office. read more

Love Yoga with Gloria I never took yoga before and read prenatal yoga was great exercise for pregnancy, so I did a yelp search and found Gloria. I have been taking prenatal yoga privately for 12 weeks and love it. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I wish I would have done it with the other 2. I have no lower back pain, I feel energized and so peaceful. Gloria is wonderful. She created a workout that suits me and my needs and still makes it different each week. The atmosphere is always peaceful and soothing and she even will make adjustments during workout if I want to work on a specific body part or to accommodate my growing belly. Gloria is an amazing instructor! She is able to run the lesson so that people with any level of experience (including friends of mine with zero experience) are suitably challenged but never over-exerted. For every position she'll offer an easier alternative for anyone that needs it. I've been going almost a year now. I never really saw myself as a yoga person, but it really is good for the mind, core strength and flexibility. I think what I like most is that Gloria has a friendly little group where everyone knows each other and a gorgeous venue with wooden floors and a high ceiling - which helps with the meditation. Sometimes Gloria will turn off the lights and put on candles towards the end of the lesson or invite us out to dinner. I started doing yoga with Gloria almost a year ago. As someone who had not done yoga formally before, I found her class challenging but refreshing. Each class she would work on different areas of the body (i.e. balance poses, back and shoulders, or core work) that would be integrated into her classes. She does a good job showing moves differently for people with different skills levels and really emphasizes you doing what feels good in your body rather than what a pose should look like. I have attended several of Gloria's classes and I have enjoyed each one! I always feel so good when I leave Gloria's class. She really knows what poses reverse my computer centric job. Sometimes I mention that I wish I could do that one pose. I love it that she makes an effort to teach me poses that I want to do even when they are above my skill level. I am taking private prenatal yoga classes with Gloria. She didn't offer a class for this type of yoga, but she's willing to offer me private sessions - and with very good prices! Worth every pennies of it! She is one of the most awesome instructors I've ever met. She's very warm, attentive and always checks with your conditions, before and after the classes. She's making sure that what she gave really fits to your condition. Not to mention she's kind of challenging you through what you think you can't do but apparently you can, which gives you very nice feeling of accomplishment. She's very encouraging and makes you feel good about yourself and your body. She always tries new poses every session so it won't get boring. One thing about her private session, she always checks whether you do it right or not. She knows the technique very well and can explain to you how to do it perfectly right. She's very flexible in terms of times. She tries to work with my schedule. And she can work with whatever conditions we are in. My house is a full house so sometimes there will be people lounging around in the area where we do workouts. She's fine with it as long as I am fine. She is very easy to talk to and is willing to give you advices, even not related to yoga. Having had delivered 2 babies, she always gives me tips on how to go through my labor, my anxiety, my restlessness, and my worries - which is really helpful for me as this is my first pregnancy. I had been practicing yoga for 2 years at a studio near my home before I moved to San Jose (I am a resent transplant from Vancouver Canada). Being new in the area I didn't have a lot of information about the local yoga classes (outside of the local gym). when my company offered us a corporate yoga class once a week, as part of our "Get Fit" challange, I was very excited to get back into it. Gloria's class is fantastc; challanging, mentaly refreshing, and fun. Gloria has great patients and can modify all moves for any skill level. She is very warm and knowledgeable, and she also makes sure everyone stays withing their personal boundaries, so there is no "over doing it" or injuries. I look forward to our weekly classes and would love to see her in the office more often! I think I can speak for others as well as myself, when i say that i am truly relaxed and refreshed (and sweaty) after our classes. read more

I've taken a few classes with Gloria and found her to be very experienced in her practice. I'm a beginner /intermediate and have had other instructors that were intimidating, but Gloria is friendly and personable. I really enjoy the class and love how she gives more challenging options for poses. I've gotten bored in other classes where we do the same routine repeatedly. I'm sure Gloria gives expert instruction at all levels, but I want to share how great she is for people like myself with functional disabilities. I have multiple sclerosis and find it very difficult to exercise and relax. So I'm very grateful that Gloria told me about her yoga and qigong class for senior citizens. I think I can speak for everyone in class when saying that Gloria spreads a contagious enthusiasm for both physical and spiritual health in general, and yoga and qigong in particular. Not only is she mindful of our physical limitations, but she brings a very intuitive yet studied understanding of our condition. Somehow she finds the perfect balance between encouraging and challenging us (without being pushy or overly demanding) and keeping safety in mind. This is of utmost importance to me in particular because of my condition, probably more so than most of the senior citizens. With that said, I am being more active now than I have in years. And here's the thing, I'm having fun and I'm cultivating a better sense of spiritual well-being at the same time. We all cherish her lively instruction and the tidbits of information she gives us.
