I have been a member of the Yoga Connection for more than 5 years. When I first started the studio, I loved the teachers, the programs, and the physical rooms. I recently had an experience that caused me to feel unsafe and cancel my membership. In today's environment with violence around the country, I became concerned over an incident with a yoga student. I left the class early as I questioned the students behavior in the room. I immediately called the studio to share my concerns and expected a response within 24 hours. I did not receive one. The following day, I sent an email explaining the situation and again, hoped to receive a response within 24 hours. Again, I received no respose. I was extremely disappointed that the studio had no regard for my issues and safety needs. I never heard back regarding my issues until 5 days later after I cancelled my membership. I was crushed that the owner of the studio could have cared less about my safety needs. I believe they were only interested in taking my money and not my personal well being. I am so sad and upset it ended this way. As a result, I can't in good conscience, recommend this studio. I am now looking for another studio that cares about their clients and their clients safety. read more

Went with my wife for our first time doing yoga. We received our first class for free. The service from the time we walked in to the time we left was great. They really looked the time to help us new beginners would recommend them to anyone looking into yoga. Will be back for more classes. read more

Decent workout but no real connection. I don't get the accents the instructors speak and the made up anatomy, example, "balls of your toes". Instructions at times were not very clear. Yoga studio seemed clean with the exception of some grass on the yoga room floor. It's a woven cushy floor which is great but as a germaphobe I just hope it's cleaned regularly. Which brings me to the bathroom. showers were out of order and there was urine on the toilet seat. The stall walls were dirty. Not stained just needed to have a good wipe down. The veneer on the cubbyholes was taped back on where an easy application of glue would give it a cleaner look and show some effort towards caring about cleanliness. Parking is a bit of challenge. During the day it's not a big deal but at night it's downright scary. Especially after a vagrant helped himself to a shower and then wouldn't leave the area. Upon walking in the front desk didn't have the same friendly vibe. No eye contact. I don't know if someone was having a bad day or they just naturally seemed to have a frantic, cold demeanor. A smile would go a long way. All my favorite instructors have moved on which doesn't bode well for owners and management. read more

Yoga Connection is my favorite yoga studio. Both the Pembroke Pines and Davie Studios are beautiful and super clean. The studio is also very reliable and they always have a great teachers. I love the Yin class the best and Miriam is the best teacher. However, I've tried a lot of different classes with Miriam and all of her classes are fabulous!! You will not be disappointed with the Yoga Connection. read more

For those of you looking for yoga in Broward County, Yoga Connection should be at the top of your list. This is a well-established, full service studio. They offer two rooms for practice, one heated and one non-heated. I had class with Bea who was a joy to learn from. The class structure focused on the connection between the body and the mind. If you're looking for yoga beyond the physical practice this is sure to be a favorite. I recommend arriving early to reserve a spot on the mat. By the way, they have rattan/bamboo flooring, a really unique feature for the classroom. read more

Glad to say I've found my new yoga studio! Absolutely love this place. Friends staff, large studio, great location, awesome prices, and I love that they have a full equipped bathroom! Not only are they the first yoga studio I've ever seen with showers, but they have hair irons, blow driers, even face moisturizer! Absolutely convenient. I really loved their hot vinyasa class with Shayna, she was very helpful, experienced, and had excellent music. Can't wait to come back! read more

My husband surprised me with a package to this studio. I have tried a few classes and have loved all the instructors. The studio is very welcoming. The studio is clean and I love the locker room. The classes tend to get packed and sometimes you have to squeeze into a class, but the actual yoga practice is great! I always leave here feeling great, even a little sore from the workout!! read more

I suffer from tension headaches // migraines. My neck, shoulders, and back have muscle flare ups. Hot yoga helps me to relive any tension or stress I get. I was able to stop taking muscle relaxers and pain relievers when practicing hot yoga. My posture and body relaxation has improved tremendously. I love it for how it makes me feel spiritually and my feelings towards my appearance improves. I feel more confident and well balanced all around. read more

Took a NON HEATED yin class and I could not get past the horrible stench left from a previous class. The AC did not kick in once to circulate air flow, hoping that would help the horrible smell in class. Teacher did not even bother walking around to adjust anyone. I have no idea why there are so many good reviews. The bathroom floor was covered in paper towels thrown about. Might as well stick to online yoga if you are just going to watch/listen to an instructor but with so many CLEAN attentive studios, I will not return. read more

Ive been here 3 times and had different instructors. The studio is great and i definitely recommend hot yoga. However make sure you get a good instructor. Out of the 3 times i went i only liked one instructor read more

do not get yourself locked into a contract with this studio. the owner brian has begun to harass and bully me. he has sent me emails and text messages threatening me with his supposed wife attorney, name calling using words such as "naive, irresponsible, immature", bashing me after i paid for 5 months of yoga. instigating me saying that he has an attorney he is bullying me because of $79 bucks. money in which i paid and took back due to no services and not meeting my yoga standards. brian said: "you are not welcome ever again at my studio and i am letting the other studio owners in the area to be warned of you." thus threatening to give name and my personal information to people without permission. furthermore, this is what yoga is: "yoga is 1. a hindu theistic philosophy teaching the suppression of all activity of body, mind, and will in order that the self may realize its distinction from them and attain liberation. 2 : a system of exercises for attaining bodily or mental control and well-being." and this is what you may experience at yoga connection: you could end up in a class with a teacher named jessica and have to listen to music like "this is why i'm hot" or some other rap pop songs. i remember driving 25 minutes to yoga, desperate for the meditation and the breathe and the calm atmosphere to then be thrown into an aerobics studio with terrible mindless music. i left after 15 minutes of the class. very very disappointing. i was bullied a lot growing up between elementary school and middle school and i am astonished to be bullied by an older man probably in his 40's. i feel bad for all the other young yoga people like myself or people who have had this happen to them and haven't stood up for themselves, and who have experienced this studio and truly believe that that is what yoga is. read more

I have been practicing yoga for more than seven years. One of the most important things to look for in a studio is a space that will help you grow into your own practice, which is a very joyful and sometimes frustrating journey. The teachers at yoga connection guide you though the mindless chatter in your head and they give you the tools so that you can be your best yoga teacher. The owners are down to earth and they care about their students so you never have to feel like you can't mention something that makes you feel less than wonderful. When I practice at this studio, I never feel as though I need to impress anyone nor do I feel like anyone is watching me unless the teacher is trying to assist in giving me the tools I need in order to work on my practice. I'm a yogi for life and yoga connection is where I have grown my practice and opened my heart to the tremendous abundance that this work can do for not only myself but the entire community- the Cula. The teachers are great. Shay, Ali and Michael are pros. The studio is alright. It's true that the owner should not man the front desk. Yoga teacher pricing isn't honored unless you are currently employed as a yoga teacher. That's kinda ridiculous considering how difficult it is to find a job as a yoga instructor (lots of wonderful teachers out there) and that some of us didn't take the teacher training to teach, but to learn. I will come back for the yin classes but that's because there isn't anything better in the area atm. read more

This is an overall GREAT studio. It is a very welcoming environment. It is clean and has a lot of space for your bag/shoes. They have a hot room and a non-heated room. The hot room is HUGE and can hold a lot of people. The non-heated room is about half the size but you can still fit a ton of people in there. Each teacher has their own teaching style; they are all different, but all are great teachers. Because of this, you may need to try different teachers out to find your best fit, but don't get turned off to the whole place by one teacher, just give someone else a try! They have plenty of great workshops to offer almost every weekend. Their prices are pretty average, not too expensive and they have good packages. They also do yoga teacher training there which I took part in and it was an experience that has truly changed my life! Definitely give the studio a try, and who knows, maybe one day you'll decide to become a teacher! read more

I am very disappointed by an attitude of one of the instructors, Carole Driscoll, who was very rude to me at the front desk. I arrived late to my class because of the hectic traffic and rain. Carole didn't allow me to enter the class because she said that "I would disturb other people." I explained to her that my yoga practice is very important for me as for others. I greatly respect other people, but I felt diminished. Carole made me feel like I am not so important as anyone else. I paid for my membership ahead. There was no contract and no explanation of late rules. I understand the rules if they are exist, but I don't accept bad attitude from a yoga instructor. She also didn't allow me to speak to the owner, Brian Swartz. She just offered me to write him an e-mail. I asked for my money back, but she refused to cancel my contract. I left feeling very sad, because I really enjoyed my yoga classes. I will never step in this studio again! read more

I've been practicing hot vinyasa yoga for about 2 years regularly and was looking for a place here in the davie area. I haven't tried other places but I loved this place. The business itself is being renovated but the studio is great. The floors are rubber and the heating system is new- it gets the studio hot but allows fresh air in. I took both a hot vinyasa flow class and a hot yoga flow class. The hot vinyasa flow class was just my style- it linked breathing with movement and the instructors brought in the spiritual aspect of yoga. The hot yoga flow class was more focused on the poses and less on the linking of breathing with movement. This class is probably more appropriate for beginners but nevertheless a great yoga class. The parking is easy, the key card/swipe system is easy, and the people are all very warm and welcoming. The classes are offered at all times, which is also very nice for busy working people. I try to give places a chance when writing a negative review or offering constructive criticism. I have bought many packages at yoga connection, since 2013 (with a hiatus for childbearing), but the one I most recently purchased will certainly be my last. Let me be clear to begin- the 3 stars I gave are for the instructors and the instructors only. This is with the exception of one, who conducts herself in a condescending manner. The man who is frequently up front, who I believe to be the owner, is SO RUDE, UNPLEASANT AND DOWNRIGHT DISRESPECTFUL. I have had many interactions with him, all of which leave a sour taste in my mouth. Isn't this a yoga studio? Shouldn't there be a zen or happy attitude toward people? In every business for that matter? I am done with the lack of eye contact, the brashness in his demeanour, the nitpicking with student prices and most importantly, with giving him money. Yoga is an 'extra' for most people (especially a mother of 2 young kids like me) and there are a lot of other wonderful studio is to choose from. This guy needs to find a job elsewhere and stop poisoning the studio- because the facilities and instructors are a win. read more

With everything Yoga is supposed to offer including a positive, warm mind and body connection, the staff who answers inquiries for potential clients and newcomers to yoga are the worst. While calling to inquiry about classes and ask about health concerns, Phillis, who has apparently worked the front desk for eight years, literally passed me off to a man in the middle of a question (with not a word about being busy right then or anything-literally in mid-sentence). Being completely taken aback by this very unprofessional and quite frankly surprising introduction to yoga, I am convinced that this Yoga Connection is merely a guise to promote yoga not its philosophy. When I gathered my emotions about being passed off without one word that they were apparently busy checking people in, the man at the desk gave me attitude. A person inquiring about service, including private sessions at $100 per hour, gave me attitude. Wow! These people are definitely jerks who do not understand the premise behind this eastern art and philosophy. My friend enjoys the Yoga studio, Yoga Joint, out east in Fort Lauderdale. Because the Yoga Connection is the only place in west, central Broward, it must be the only reason why it is in business. Sad. Well, maybe I will try yoga out in Fort Lauderdale, albeit inconvenient, and then help invest for some competition in west, central Broward. It won't be difficult to build a better business than Yoga Connection. Buyer Beware! This is all people need to know. The Yoga Connection does not truly care about people. read more
