It was probably my favorite yoga class that I have taken all year. I can't wait to take her class again tomorrow. I'm excited to try out the different styles of yoga and deepen my practice.

I highly recommend trying Yoga Trapeze if you haven't before, and adding it to your weekly or monthly health routine. Five stars!

Shine On is a real sanctuary in the middle of Weston that also offers Reiki Circles and special events throughout the year, like Sound Healing and New Age music events. I have done Kundalini (with Pi'ilani) and Restorative Yoga (with Cinthia) and both teachers are not only very experienced, but also very caring and accommodating for different performance levels. I highly recommend this studio.

Covid had a huge impact on everyone, and one of the side effects for me was not practicing yoga…read morebecause I was not comfortable with being in a studio with other people. I knew CynthiaB from a studio I had attended regularly pre-Covid and was excited that she had opened SHINE ON YOGA but I didn't have the confidence (with my vulnerable bronchia) to attend. Flash forward three years and the body of this late-60's gal has clearly paid the price for not continuing a 10-year practice. I knew I HAD to get my joints moving again and to regain the sense of calm and rhythm that yoga can bring to one's life. I needed the nurturing of my yogi-sisters again. I started by attending some of the on-line/remote classes in the privacy of my own home. This was an excellent place to begin as I am very self conscience of the weight I've gained and my lack of flexibility. No one to see me struggle, no one to see my pudgy gut. There are many styles of yoga offered at ShineOn and I have chosen to attend those classes that are "Low & Slow" (my term) so that I don't strain this old body of mine. I am partial to the Restorative/Yin class offered on-line on Monday mornings and the Yin/Restorative flow on Thursdays, both lead by Cynthia. Both of those classes are ideal for anyone who wants to stretch those muscles and get those joints fluid, so I encourage anyone who is a little out of shape to start there. As I get stronger and more confident again, I'll start attending the 'flow' classes regularly too. Ashtanga, VInyasa and Kundalini classes are offered as well - and even some classes in Spanish! But meanwhile I'll cautiously build my practice with the gentle and nurturing "Low & Slow" classes at ShineOn. And as a result, I'll be better at practicing patience with myself too as I transition.

Aerial yoga is no joke but super fun and luckily I was in a class full of other first timers so it wasn't too intimidating or fast paced. Their HIIT class allows you to incorporate some weights and bands to make it even more of a challenge, along with the room already being hot. The Power Yoga class is NOT for the weak so prepare to sweat and get into some tougher poses. The Barre class took me by surprise as I assumed we'd be doing some ballerina-ish movements, it was more similar to a Zumba class and Liz's energy makes it super enjoyable. I had the pleasure of booking with each one of the instructors and I can confidently say each person was a delight. They have a good amount of free parking, but I would show up no earlier than 10 minutes before so that you can take the parking spaces of the previous class right once they leave. The studio feels very homey upon entering and I love the no shoe policy upon arrival. There's cubbies right outside of the heated room where you can put your phone & other belongings. Overall, I'm happy to know this studio offers classes beyond just hot yoga. It's conveniently located nearby Downtown Hollywood and they're open all 7 days of the week which is great! Anybody looking to try something new or wanting to get out of their comfort zone should definitely swing by, as the friendliness of the staff makes you want to come back for more!

Membership perks include free hand towel before class and a cold towel at the end of class which is a glorious way to cool down after all that heat. The thing I like about the OM spot best is that literally no class is ever the same.  Yes, it's the same poses, but the sequences are always different.  I find this helps my mind stay in the class. I would say it's a little more athletic than some other hot yoga studios, which I consider to be a plus.   Take a class here, join, you won't regret it. Promise.

For those who don't know about Iyengar yoga it's the real deal, not some competitive, gimmick yoga that has the potential of creating more problems than it solves. I should know, as a 68 year old I've gone to hundreds of yoga classes including some in India. The owner and primary teacher is amazing. She has years of Iyengar yoga experience having studied with BK Iyengar at his Institute in India and going back for advanced training on a regular basis. When I started working with her I could barely move from a series of injuries and significant scoliosis. At first I took private lessons because I was in such bad shape and then began her gentle yoga class. Since attending the weekly gentle yoga class my disabilities have virtually vanished. Ruthanne knows how to deal with just about any physical problem in a confident and therapeutic manner. As a medical professional myself I can attest to her ability to use her yoga knowledge to help all those in her classes. She teaches all levels of Iyengar Yoga, and has a big following of grateful devotees. If you're looking for a real yoga practice experience, this is the place to come.

I also really appreciated that she offered plenty of modifications, which made the class feel approachable no matter where you were in your practice. After reporting it, I was reprimanded by the business's owner instead of taken seriously -- the owner's behavior was dismissive, narcissistic, and unprofessional from start to finish. The owner then blocked me from attending future sessions without making a single effort to call or email and resolve the issue. The place also severely lacks diversity. One receptionist was warm and respectful, while the other -- the white-passing mixed-race receptionist -- had a clear attitude and greeted everyone except me. The energy there feels cliquish and cult-like. Lost interest in supporting that business after those incidents. Found other more inclusive and warm businesses that aligned with my values who were transparent. Upon entering the studio, I was wowed at how beautiful inside was. There was a sign to leave your ego outside which I found was witty. It's suppose to be a no judgement zone and a time to relax, which I love. It was a loft style with lovely yoga decor; there were a few Indian god elephant pictures decorated on one of the walls. I was greeted by Shelli, the owner and she was very pleasant. We walked upstairs to her office and I got my card. The card is for the Groupon I purchased; I have 10 classes and each time I attend, she will mark it on the card. She provides yoga mats but you could bring your own. Also, I like that there are no shoes and socks on the studio floor; every pose is done barefoot which reduces slippage. There was one other student besides me and we began to start our one and a half hour class. Shelli put on some zen music and repeated a mantra before class started. The moves were challenging but it was easy enough for a beginner like me. I am very inflexible with my joints so some moves were more uncomfortable for me than others. I managed to keep up and try every pose. She asked me to do a head stand which I was very scared to do. However, she guided me throughout and I did one with her help. I was surprised with what my body could do! The whole experience was relaxing and rewarding. I felt rejuvenated after class. At the end of the class, Shelli repeated another mantra that ended with namaste. Overall, I'm looking forward to the next class and even purchasing a membership.
