This is a wonderful studio that reliably delivers in every class I've been to so far. Their schedule is consistent with lots of types of classes, and their teachers are always very knowledgeable in their craft. YC is also incredibly supportive of all types of students who are interested in classes, from those who attend sporadically around their work schedule (me), to tweens/teens who want to seriously work on their yoga and mindfulness practices (my son). Thank you YC for being part of our community! read more

This is a wonderful studio! I got a 10-day pass while visiting family in Hilo. The class schedule was perfect for me, the instructors are excellent, the studio is beautiful and airy, and they have plenty of props available. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere even towards a short timer like me. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in town. read more

Yoga Centered - teaching a restorative yoga 1 Class (Single Drop-in) - Yoga Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

Im new to the area and have been looking for a yoga center to practice at. I couldn't be happier with the selection and amount of classes offered at Yoga Centered. Each yoga instructor is passionate and brings their own level of creativity to practice. Molly is the owner and is an extremely kind and down to earth human. I'm so thankful she made this yoga studio possible to practice at! The energy is very grounding, welcoming and peaceful! I highly recommend Yoga Centered to anyone, whether you live here or you're just visiting; it's a great location with amazing shops around the area to explore and pamper yourself after class! read more

Yoga Centered is more than just a yoga studio -- it's a cornerstone of the community here in Hilo. When you're a client here, people know you by name, you're greeted with warmth, and you become part of the family. You will fall in love with the atmosphere. You'll be inspired to prioritize yourself and take even better care of yourself, both physically and mentally. When I first discovered this studio, I was impressed by the variety of classes. You want vinyasa flow, restorative yoga, candlelight yoga, barre, Buti fitness, or something new that you have not tried yet? They've got it all. read more

I love Yoga Centered! The classes are well tailored to meet the needs of students in all levels. If you're looking for something a little different, Yoga Barre and Buhti Yoga classes offer a great alternative to the classic yoga classes. The teachers are all professional and every class is well thought out with smooth transitions. Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years, everyone will have a great experience. read more

Yoga Centered studio is a beautiful space for "me time." I worked in emergency response/Civil Defense for years...self-care was key to survival. I knew I needed to get to Yoga Centered as often as possible and ended up in the studio around 5 times a week. I love the Sunday class at 10. It is my church. I no longer work in emergency services, and I credit the inner transformation that yoga causes that landed me in a job that is such a peaceful and fulfilling fit, making more than ever before. Yoga is magic. Molly is a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l teacher. She is strong and vulnerable, so wise and casually goofy...she nails it and is okay with sharing how she also fumbles along at times...she has continually evolved her teaching in a way that is everbetter. for real. I have opened my heart more and more because she leads so honestly and hearbreakingly at times. I truly have shed tears on the mat. lots of sweat too. Life is hard. No mud, no lotus. bloom Molly, bloom...your garden is growing and I am so glad to be in it. read more

The location is perfect in downtown Hilo with plenty of parking. And there is food and drinks around for after class. The classes are suitable for any level. And very enjoyable leaving me wanting to come back. Online booking on the website is really easy. read more

Best yoga in Hilo! Molly and the other amazing instructors at this yoga studio renewed my love of yoga and got me back into my practice. I look forward to all my classes and take something from them to my everyday life each time I go. Most classes are flow-based, so it's not a demo, then go do format, but rather one pose goes into the next with excellent instruction. Treat yourself and attend a class - any class - and you will be happier, calmer and more centered :) Namaste. read more

I am on day 4 of my yoga journey and am loving it! I am taking advantage of the $20 for 10 days of yoga right now. I will most definitely be buying a class pass as soon as it's over, because I have loved it so far. I was slightly intimidated by trying yoga; I imagined all of these slender, flexible women around me putting my novice skills to shame. It was not like that at all! There are many slender flexible women, but there are individuals of all shapes, sizes and levels, to my relief. The classes I have been to so far range from about 10-15 people in a quiet room with wood floors. They have props to use if you don't have your own, and rent yoga mats as well. Molly Masaoka, an instructor (and also the owner) is just great. read more

Small to medium yoga studio located in downtown Hilo. In spring 2007, I went to a few of their community classes held during the lunch hour and enjoyed getting back into the routine. The class was quite crowded probably because fees were reduced $5.00 (all I could afford since I was willfully unemployed). However, more recently, I went to their vinyasa flow class (probably 8-9 students) and really enjoyed it. The instructor was one of the best that I've had, well versed in all aspects of the practice and, of course, much much more flexible than me! The class was in the evening which was enjoyable since the normal downtown background noise was missing. I plan to attend more classes, would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for somewhere to call home. The studio does have a storefront selling various yoga accessories, I haven't purchased anything but their selection does look extensive. read more

This is hands down my favorite yoga studio in Hilo!!! Yoga centered has a spacious and healing feel to it, the space is absolutely beautiful; both eloquent, yet simple, with a touch of lofty urban appeal. I love the variety of classes that are available, and the teachers are all amazing. Highly recommend this yoga studio!! read more

Such a beautiful space, and the teachers are both talented and compassionate. The most welcoming energy, while still presenting challenges in the practice. Always something new going on! read more

Yoga Centered - Boutique and door to the separate studio space - Yoga Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

I've always wanted to try yoga but would find every excuse in the book, to busy, no time and best of all I don't want people to stare and laugh at me. I finally got the courage to attend a workshop that was offered by Yoga Centered. From the very first class I realized that NO ONE cared about me and what I looked like. I was just being critical of myself as I'm sure many of us are! I LOVED it so much that I signed up for another class. I am so IN LOVE with my new found yoga class that I want more. I've only taken a class with Molly Masaoka and she is AMAZING and I'm sure that the rest of the instructors are just as amazing as she is! Many thanks to Molly and Everyone at Yoga Centered for being a blessing to people like me! read more

I was excited to happen upon this studio during my recent vacation. I attended two classes, a Jivamukti one with Soozie and a Flow class with Lei. Soozie's class was very characteristic of Jivamukti, good although this is not the style that resonates with me most. Lei's class was absolutely wonderful. She has a warm energy and it comes through in her instruction and wonderful adjustments. The flow was strong that I was sweating in no time and there was such a sense of sweetness to her flow. This was one of the best classes I have taken in years ! It is rare for me to practice at a studio that is not my "home" one and experience such a remarkable class but this studio has a wonderful warmth to it and the instructors (at least the two I took) were knowledgeable and created a beautiful space to practice in.. read more

I consider myself a yoga snob, but I have yet to take a class at Yoga Centered that I haven't enjoyed. And Ive tried most of them, the flow, restorative, buddhi, and basics. I even like the class for seniors. Every teacher there is knowledgable and approachable and seems to know exactly what I need at the moment. Molly's restorative class have been some of the most memorable yoga classes I've taken. Clearly I love the teachers and the content but I also love the space. The studio is gorgeous and spacious and clean! And lastly the Boutique! Its so good its painful. I spend way too much money in there. All of the products are so amazing though. The jewelry, the bikinis, and the clothes you can't find anywhere else in Hilo. It almost makes you forget you're in a small town. love love love this place. read more

I am an on-again/off-again yogi who has been coming to Yoga Centered since 2008. It has changed ownership since then but no drastic changes have been made. The practice space can fit about 30 people if packed in mat to mat, but I've rarely seen a class run out of space. The exception to this is Pascale Fasciano's Buddhi yoga class. I have been mainly attending only Buddhi classes for the past year and she is AMAZING! The only way I've been able to describe Buddhi yoga is "Twerking with a purpose". It combines yoga, plyometrics, dance, and more. Get ready to burn some serious calories. This class is not for the faint of heart or self-conscious. Pascale is also not an instructor who will just call out poses or moves. She does the entire class with you, and I have yet to see anyone keep up with her from start to finish. But that's the fun of it all! The lights are turned down and the music is pumping and everybody is in there to have fun and get there Buddhi on! If you plan on attending Pascale's class, get there early to snag a spot, especially when the University is in session. Another little gem about this studio is their boutique. They carry Manduka mats in all colors, locally made bikinis and yoga wear that we would usually have to go off-island or online to purchase. Some examples are Hard Tail, 3 Dot, and XCVI. Even if you're not into yoga, they have some seriously cute selections. If I could make one suggestion to the owner, it would be to offer a Mommy & Me class. My kids are old enough to take interest in the things I do, and many times I can't attend class because I am with them. I would love to bond with them over something as wonderful as yoga. Overall, this is a place with a great vibe and excellent customer service. If you're on a budget, take a community class for only $5. No matter what class you attend, no one will judge you or your skill level, or in my case, they always welcome me back with a smile even after a few months of serious slacking! read more

You know when you go to a new place and you wanna try the yoga studio but there are so many and you don't know which one to try? Yoga Centered is THE yoga studio to go to in Hilo. I consider myself a yoga snob but I have loved every class Ive taken at yoga centered. All the teachers seemed to give me exactly what I needed. From vinyasa to restorative and even some of the most memorable yoga workshops I've taken. The space is beautiful, clean and comfortable. And the boutique is one of my favorite places to shop. I literally buy something every time I go in. Local jewelry, brazilian bikinis and cute yoga pants.. it's the perfect combo. This is one of my favorite studios ever! read more

Yoga Centered is a great, convenient spot to get your yoga fix. The classes are a nice mix from beginner to advanced levels all practicing together. You get a great workout, but an even greater "soul boost". I have been catching Mollys classes a lot and they are fantastic, although I have not had a bad teacher there-everyone is great! I really like the flow of Mollys class and the timing. Starting off slow, focusing on breathing and stretching, then getting the heart and blood pumping, and then really getting into the poses/breath for longer periods. It just works for me. They have a good variety of classes offered and flexible scheduling. Definitely give it a try! read more

I reccomed Shae's morning asthanga program. She is an authorized teacher, authentic practice! Excellent workout.

What a beautiful space to practice yoga. I was visiting from Manhattan and enjoyed my daily classes. The teachers are talented and caring. I have sports injuries. All the teachers took the time to give incredible modifications for a safe and healing experience for me. If I lived closer I would practice daily at the studio. I bought the online classes and have been enjoying seeing the studio and taking the classes at home. read more

I first went to yoga centered on the suggestion of a friend to help with some back pain. My first class was the R&R class taught by the owner, Molly. It was amazing! I have since gone back a number of times and have found every instructor to be equally as good, always bringing something else to the experience. Through their instruction, my back pain went completely away! I try to go to class as often as my schedule permits. They are by far the number one yoga studio in town. read more

It's true that I am a little biased because the owner is my sister but even if she wasn't this is the yoga studio that I would choose. The owner, Molly is committed to making a beautiful and serene space that her clients can enjoy while offering excellent yoga instruction. Molly and the staff at Yoga Centered are committed to constant growth and improvement and want their clientele to be happy and healthy. As far as the yoga, I have never taken a "bad" class. Although I might have my favorite teaches, ALL of the yoga instructors here are top-notch, providing excellent and safe instruction and often guidance and reminders of spiritual principles. I am always so glad that I came to yoga. And of course you can't forget the adorable, stylish clothes that are in the boutique. I also appreciate that Yoga Centered is more than a place to do yoga, it is an awesome gathering space for positive and healthy people in the community that often network together and create beautiful and inspiring results! Don't be afraid, just try it! You won't regret a minute spent on your mat! read more
