Co-located in a shared…read moreoffice/incubator space in the ever-renovating mills building on Broad Street, aerial yoga is not for everyone or the faint of heart. BUT if you brave it out, it's an experience like no other. Forget what you know about traditional yoga, although having the form and respect for your movement will serve you well. Silk "hammocks" suspended from the ceiling are your toys of the day. Straight out of 50 Shades of Grey or 50 Shades of crazy... it's an experience. I'm older, heavier and crotchetier than most, and was wise enough to experiment with a 30 min one-on-one, led by a nimble, ethereal and gazelle-like instructor - Kora. She takes a lot of the "fear factor" out of the training, and allows for your comfort level. You sit on this hammock and perform different feats against nature, like hanging upside down like a bat. Not bad for my first time, other than my 3 belly jelly rolls had a party hanging out in opposite direction of where they normally are... CHALLENGING! It will help you build upper body strength, core and balance. In a very calming environment. If you are in to trying new things, give it a whirl (LITERALLY!). At a minimum, you can tick that one off the list!

I'm trained as a yoga teacher and love checking out various classes, so when I had a chance to…read morevisit my friend in Hudson she brought me to Georgia's class. What a great class, and great group of people! I'm Kripalu-trained and observed that the class met individual students where they were at. Her instruction was safe and thorough, offering variations based on what students were looking for. Props are available and encouraged. As a super bendy person, I really really really like blocks and straps! The space was unassuming, after all it is in a martial arts space -- but yoga is anywhere, it's not just a bamboo-floor/buddha statue experience, and I value how welcoming, comfortable and compassionate this class was. If I lived closer, I would definitely attend classes regularly. This is not power yoga, however as a teacher if there's one thing I've noticed is that the power-flow-hot-'type-A' yogis are challenged by gentler, more meditative classes (that don't do the same flow every time), because these types (with all due respect) want to go-go-go and feel they aren't benefitting without a sweat and shaking-aching muscles. So to all those power yoga practitioners out there, you'll expand your vinyasa practice if you throw some of these classes into the mix. Plus, you can work your mula bandha as hard as you want, no one will know the difference :) Here, you do get challenge, with a dose of understanding how the mind comes into practice, and that touching your toes or perfecting that arm balance is not the goal of yoga. It may be a happy by-product, but when you consider how postures are 1/8th of the full practice of yoga, it's worth considering your aims. Those impressive postures are not the only way to strengthen your _core_. So come hang out in Hudson with a diverse, friendly group of people. I whole-heartedly recommend this studio. Namaste

I also have some longtime injuries that I have used as an excuse, not to exercise. Big mistake. This gentle yet powerfully led class is already making a difference to my strength and flexibility. To be honest I was not really expecting to be a customer, but my wife convinced me otherwise during their opening week. Revolution offered up free classes for most of their first week, in a great way to create some buzz - we attended a couple of these, and I must say I am very impressed! I have never really been interested in yoga - nor did I understand it at all. Our classes were led by Gwen, who emphasized there that you "can't do anything wrong" in her classes, which was a relief for someone like myself. Fortunately I wasn't the only beginner - but it is clear that there is a strong local interest with some very experienced yoga-ers - which looks great for Revolution. No one makes you feel bad about taking a break, and Gwen was very helpful if you got mixed up while setting up a position (by you, I mean ME). The facilities are very nice - brand new, with a retail side and a studio side. The retail area is a little empty at the moment, but they will be building it out soon. The studio is great - well equipped with mats, straps and blocks. My mind was constantly racing trying to figure out the right positions - but in the end you will come out as relaxed as can be. The classes emphasize that. So from a complete beginner who knows nothing about yoga, I think its a great place, and a fantastic addition to the town. They offer many options in classes and class times - and the staff is all very friendly.

I signed up for another live stream class but ended up canceling as I didn't feel well. Well I received an email tonight saying they were charging me an additional $10!!!!!! for canceling the live stream class. OK, I get IN PERSON, they would charge a cancelation fee because it takes away a slot from another person, but their live steam slots are unlimited!!! I should have just kept myself registered or logged in. This is unbelievable, I have never heard of anything like this and I did NOT consent to my card to be charged and I will be disputing it with my credit card company and NOT returning for any more classes. Additionally, upon further research it looks like they charge you a "late cancel" fee for in-person classes after your second offense, so I still for the life of me cannot believe they fraudulently charged my card for a missed virtual class with unlimited slots. I'm livid. Buyer beware.

I LOVE Common Ground Yoga!…read more I have been coming to Common Ground for years and this studio is my happy place. And I feel like it's one of the few non-heated yoga places in the area, which is important to me! I came as part of an unlimited trial with the intention of trying a few place's before settling on one, but never left. The instructors and the owner are welcoming and supportive. They are great with new students and old ones. Every one of the teachers encourage you to do what right for your bodies and not focus on what others are doing. The community is a group of people across all ages and abilities. Pre-pandemic, it was like my second home. During the pandemic it kept me sane as their virtual classes kept me connected with a wonderful community. Post pandemic remains amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this studio.
