Since I was in the neighborhood, I've always wanted to try the sushi omakase bentos. Salmon box (4/5): This comes with salmon and seared salmon over a bed of rice. The salmon slices what huge and thicker than nigiri. The raw salmon didnt taste too fresh to me as it seemed more convenient store sushi quality to me. The seared was way too dry and ruined the texture of the salmon. Not sure if I'd come back here but this is good place if you're craving sushi and just want something quick.

The store and food options looks almost identical to Aji Kiji (previous business here). I was excited to try this place since everything felt familiar, but quickly realized the quality and taste was not good. The omakase option offered a variety of nigiris, pickles, fish soy sauce, etc.. I noticed a few pieces of fish had discoloring and left a deep fish odor after eating. And the pickles didn't taste good either.

This was my first time trying this takeout sushi spot near Japantown, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The bento boxes are beautifully presented and make the whole meal feel a little more special than your average takeout. My boyfriend chose the Wagyu bento box, which happened to be the last one they had on display. The staff kindly offered us a 20% discount, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience even better. It's on the higher-end side for takeout sushi, but the quality is absolutely worth it. Everything was incredibly fresh, and each item was carefully packed with attention to detail. One of my favorite touches was that certain bento sets come with sheets of seaweed, so you can make your own hand rolls as you eat. It made the whole experience feel fun and interactive. The presentation was so aesthetically pleasing that it immediately made me want to grab it and head to a nearby park for a picnic while enjoying the city views. The sushi tasted just as good as it looked, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every order. Between the excellent food, thoughtful presentation, and warm customer service, I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the area.

Very tasty sushi on the go with high quality fish. I really want to get the omakase but since I'm going to work I opt for the tuna and salmon combo. The fish was super flavorful and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. Mine did not come with the little fish soy sauce that were in other people's picture and I am not sure why but I dont feel like the fish needed any. The wasabi was high quality with small chunks of real wasabi bites that was not over powering. Upon close inspection, my tuna looked a bit darker than usual and I wonder if it was aged. Typical fresh tuna are not this dark but it could also be marinated. The place didnt really have any story about how they prep their fish but it was good enough that I will come back. This place is definitely a more kind of a quick treat lunch if you are craving something good. I love going resturants too but sometimes I dont have that luxury of time in a city that keeps on changing. Until next time... P.S Would you consider selling the special futomaki on it's own? It was one the best I've had.

I tried coming to this location before (prior business name, Ajikiji), but could never make it during their hours, or they'd sell out quickly. I had a similar experience with this new Yoeechee business name in the beginning, where the first 2 times I showed up, they were closed or had sold out. So I was happy to arrive one Sunday morning at 11:30am with everything still in stock. It's the only time I can come during their opening time, around my work schedule. While reading prior reviews, it seemed Yoeechee didn't have the same quality as Aijiki; some pictures looked edited for marketing while legit non-edited photos made the fish look not-so-fresh. But I still wanted to try it out, going in with a bias & lower expectations. I never actually went to Ajikiji so I can't compare the two. I got the sake tekka don ($28), which initially didn't look that impressive, but the sashimi pieces were big and the fish melted in my mouth. It was easy to separate into 2 bites without the fish or seaweed tugging, nor rice falling out of my hand-made rolls. Nice and tender! The 2nd time I came, the bentos with uni were sold out minutes after opening time, but they said they were making more in the back. This time I tried the omakase ($53) and the bara chirashi ($28). The omakase pieces weren't as melt in your mouth as the tekka don, and some pieces were chewier; I wouldn't get it again. I'd say the same for the chirashi fish. The bento boxes are beautifully packed with a side of pickled veggies and a cute fish soy sauce dripper. It came with a pack of (7-9pc) nori and double-sided wooden chopsticks. Prices ranged from $23 for a 6pc salmon or tuna box, to $53 for the omakase. Prices are what you expect for (1) sushi, and (2) new shop in SF with current cost of living. I think this would be nice to bring to a picnic or easy lunch. I heard you can also pre order on Toastab, though I have not tried it. Staff are very nice. Fish quality was 5/5 the first time but 4/5 the second. Business seems good if they're selling out quickly. I'd come back again.

The omakase and the 6pc salmon was very filling and the fish was very fresh as well! Bento box was aesthetically pleasing.

Finally got to try Yoeechee! It is very close to Japantown; you can park at one of the lots there and walk to this location. The staff is very helpful and answered all our questions. The restaurant is clean and contemporary, with a minimalist design featuring neutral tones and natural materials. Everything is to go. We bought an omakase box on a Saturday around noon and there were still various boxes to choose from. We decided to get a mixed box with various types of sashimi and rolls. It was a bit over $50. The rolls were my favorite part! They were good. The sashimi was fresh for the most part, but we did get a couple of pieces at the end that weren't as fresh. Overall the box is worth the price and you get a variety of items. They have others that I would love to try in the future.

Came here while walking around Japantown and I'm so glad we stopped. We grabbed a few of the sushi boxes to share, and everything looked just as good as it tasted. The fish was super fresh, the salmon was buttery, and the tuna practically melted in my mouth. I also loved that the rolls had a good balance of filling without being overloaded with rice. The portions were generous, especially for the price, and each box came with a nice variety of nigiri, rolls, and pickled sides. Everything was neatly packed and looked almost too pretty to eat. We actually got the last set of these nigiri boxes around noon, so if you have your eye on them, I'd recommend going earlier in the day because they seem to sell out fast. The staff were friendly, and service was quick, which made it perfect for grabbing lunch and enjoying it outside. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Japantown. Great quality sushi without the long wait or crazy prices!

I'm not sure what Yoeechee translates to but if Philly Chef Chris Cho opened a sushi spot, Yoeechee is what I think he would name it. And, as each customer enters, he would yell: "YEOBOSEYO"! Yoeechee soft opened last week in the former Aji Kiji spot (moved to FiDi). It's from the Daeho Dining Group that also owns Bansang, YakiniQ, Jina Bakes, and Aji Kiji. Like Aji Kiji, they sells omakase-quality sushi takeout boxes. Once they sell out, they close. When Aji Kiji was in this location, they would sell out within 2 hours. Word hasn't gotten out yet about Yoeechee. *Cue in*: Run don't walk.... Selection: Sake don, maguro don, bara chirashi, 10 pc nigiri, and 10 pc omakase ($23-$53). Fish selection changes daily. They do not offer delivery so not sure why it's listed as such. Tip option starts at 15%. They recommend letting it temper/sit out for 30-45 minutes before enjoying. F O O D * 10 pc Nigiri w/ futomaki ($42) - Kanpachi x2: Amberjack - Hirame x2: Halibut - Sake: Salmon - Aburi Sake: Torched Salmon - Kamasu (?) x2: Barracuda - Chutoro x2: Medium fatty tuna belly - Futomaki x3: Negitoro, sake, unagi, avocado, tamago, cucumbers, tobiko Starting with the most important element: the shari (sushi rice) - it's heavily vinegared, sticky, and held its shape. I personally like a more seasoned rice so I don't have to use soy sauce but some may find it too aggressive. All the fish is fresh tho the cuts on are the thinner side. The futomaki is a great way to use up all the odds and ends of the fish and usually a good filler. But, there was just too much going in this one. An assortment of crunchy tsukemono (pickled veggies) is provided as a palate cleanser. Housemade soy sauce served in little cute fish shaped dropper. More wasabi please...there was barely enough for half the box. S E R V I C E Friendly and polite. A M B I A N C E Sleek and minimalist. Takeout only. Overall, if you've been missing Aji Kiji and don't want to trek to the FiDi...Yoeechee got you!

Just in the neighborhood around 1:40 pm. No lines. So flavorful and so fresh. I got the saka: half grilled and half raw. Will stick to raw ones next time. Total: $29 with tax. Big slices. Love the pickled veggies and ginger, so flavorful. I should have taken pictures of the display case. The store itself is minimalist. Should have asked for more Wasabi. Yum.

    David C.

The location is very nice as was the service, extremely friendly and helpful and welcoming in a beautiful environment and simple decor. I thought I would try the Omakase as my first taste. The fish was fresh. The taste was nice and refreshing. The only thing was some of the cuts for the fish and the rice texture with seasoning. It will be up to a personal decision, which is always subjective. I do recommend trying it and I will probably try it a second time.

Expensive and the sushi wasn't great, I didn't love the fish. I have had much better elsewhere. Service was nice though! And keep in mind there are no tables inside so you will need to find elsewhere to sit

This place covers many of the basics (rolls, ramen, tempura, yakisoba, teriyaki, unagi). I really only see it as a jack of all trades, but a master of none. It doesn't mean that this restaurant has no place in Japantown, but it doesn't inspire confidence when it's located in an isolated region of the mall with less foot traffic, while its competition on the other wing has lines longer than the location's capacity. Black Garlic Ramen: It's always a mystery to me how black garlic improves a bowl of ramen. My expectations, however, remain the same. How thick is the broth? How clean is the broth when consumed? What is the quality of the chashu? Do I get enough noodles? I think the best part of this meal was the amount of soup they give, and the chashu was very good. It sucks that the chashu is tiny, but they did very well. I feel that the noodles were those wholesale ramen noodles that were portioned, and the garnish was fine. The broth was okay, 3.5-ish stars in terms of taste. Dynamite Roll and Volcano Roll: I think it's a problem if I have trouble identifying which is which. I can tell you that both are good enough to try, and the Volcano Roll comes with raw fish. Both come with a good crunch and a good sauce, but like most Japanese places that lean heavily into the rolls, good luck finding out what you ordered and what you just ate. Ambiance: Very classic Japanese. They're really at their best to convince you that you're in Japan. It may get tight during a busy day though. Service: Standard. You order, your water gets refilled, you pay, you leave.

I ordered the chicken katsu and beef teriyaki, which is served with rice, miso soup and salad--the perfect balance, and a bit of everything. The chicken was very crispy, the beefy teriyaki had a nice smoky flavor to it, the soup was nice and warm, the rice paired well and the salad was fresh and tasty. My sister ordered the Crispy Chicken Chili Creamy Ramen. I had some of her ramen and it was delicious as well! The overall, restaurant itself is a bit small but the food makes up for it. I would definitely return!

If there isn't something on the conveyer, you can always ask for it. They were cutting up real, whole fish so you know it's fresh at least. Service was great, super quick and the "chefs" were responsive. The menu is nice, with lots of drinks to choose from as well. Cuts were not authentic but still meaty. Pricing can be on the higher side, depending on what you like. But others have mentioned it can be cheap as you like or expensive as you like at places like these, as they are priced essentially by the choice of fish and how it's prepared. The staff did not seem very concerned. Bad start. You could also hear the mall cleaning crew during dinner, which was not very pleasant. I ordered the 24-item Mizuho Menu, as did all the other guests. There were 5 guests in total (the restaurant can seat up to 8 people). Here is the menu I was served at the end of May: 1. starter: ama ebi cracker with caviar, pickled lotus root with shaved bonito, crab salad 2. nigiri 4x: isaki, iwana, myabi tai, kanpachi 3. sashimi: chutoro, hotate with caviar, umi masu, sawada 4. nigiri 8x: hirame, suzuki, inada, kurodai, shima aji, kamasu, otoro, aged A5 wagyu, kinmedai 5. hot dish: miso soup with inari and shrimp head, hokkaido uni with marinated ikura, black cod, umi masu with raw yellow egg and caviar 6. dessert: matcha ice cream with strawberry Frankly, the food was excellent. The starter was not very creative, but the nigiri were great. The sashimi selection was very nice, with some fish you do not see as often in omakase menus, such as isaki, iwana, and myabi tai, a kind of tai. Sawada was delicious and is always a good inclusion. We asked for some wasabi and received a small cup of kizami wasabi, a chopped wasabi with a slightly crunchy texture, which was a nice touch. For the nigiri, all the classics of a good omakase were present: otoro, kinmedai, shima aji, uni, hotate, and wagyu. Kamasu was also included, and it is one of my favorite fish. It is also worth noting that they age both their beef and their tuna, including the otoro that was served. A few pieces were torched, maybe a few too many. Overall, the service was not memorable, although chef Ron Au was friendly and nice. The place itself felt a bit questionable, and my expectations were not very high after the beginning of the meal. But the food was truly excellent, and for that reason I think it deserves 5 stars.
