It took them about 5 minutes to address me even though I was the only customer, which was a bit odd. Once I placed my order, my strawberries were freshly sliced which was nice. I got the chocolate strawberries with half milk and half dark chocolate. The dark chocolate didn't have much flavor, so I would stick with the milk chocolate next time. I will say, the dessert hit the spot, but it was quite pricey for what it was. Something to consider for next time.

The rice was such a nice textural component. It wasn't spiced with anything that I know of, so it was nice that it balanced out the sweetness of the ice cream. There was a sauce on the top of the mango ice cream as well, but not sure if I tasted much of it. The peanut butter M&Not Handshake was also very good! I personally liked that it had a lot of peanut butter taste. I think the ice cream itself and some peanut butter was put on top. I just love a good sweet and salty moment. And the "M&M's" were a great crunchy texture. The only thing is I feel like I tasted an oat-y aftertaste which I wasn't really fond of. All in all, I love this for the vegans, but I do prefer a milk based ice cream. Would come back for the mango stick rice though.

The employees working today were rude and nasty, and the atmosphere felt negative and uncomfortable. We did not feel welcomed at all. I used to stop here every Sunday after church, but the customer service has gone downhill. I never had experiences like this when the Irish guys were working. After being treated this way twice in one day, this will be my last time patronizing this establishment.

One thing that gave me pause is that the smallest size for any drink here is 16 oz. For milk-based espresso drinks, that much milk can sacrifice the coffee's flavor and strength because the espresso gets lost in all the milk. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened here :( Instead of tasting like a balanced espresso drink, it was mostly almond milk with just a faint espresso flavor (and not a particularly great one). I hoped that for $8 that my drink would taste a lot better. Unfortunately I barely drank it. My friend did say that her cold brew was pretty good! So maybe just don't order the iced cappuccino unless you don't mind drinking iced milk :)

Beware - in the hot sun the cone does leak, so either eat VERY fast or ask for a cup to contain any rogue drips. Pricing is reasonable for a boutique plant-based experience, with sundaes ranging from $10-$13.50 depending on size. Vaca's is a pretty big store front/space with tables inside. It's counter service style and you order and then your order comes up and they call your name. The store/restaurant space was very clean, and cutely decorated. Staff were friendly and welcoming as we ordered. While my best friend was visiting, she saw a post on Vaca's social media about their corn soft serve leaving September 1st, and we decided we had to try it before it left. We each ordered one of the special corn soft serve in a corn cone and dipped in a (vegan) butter ... shell? dip? I'm not sure how to refer to that! This cone is giant, I need to be so clear. I was impressed with the size of the cone and they fill it all the way up with soft serve. The texture is remarkably smooth and the flavor was really perfect. If I didn't know this was a corn flavor, I'm not sure I would have known it was corn as opposed to maybe "sweet cream" or something more mild, but this was a perfect ice cream. I could eat this particular soft serve for the rest of my life and be so satisfied. The cone was really crunchy and also a more mild flavor. The corn soft serve was so delicious that I would definitely try anything else on their menu and it leaves me excited to try more seasonal offerings in the future.
