The left one is for the morning TK and kinder who come here when morning school ends to stay until 220 pm and get out when the others grades are released. This is why we signed up my grandchild. Because of other sibling in school until about 230 pm. We were only able to see the champions room the day before school started for a couple minutes and even getting to do that was like pulling teeth to get someone to show us the room. It's dark and dreary. We didn't know at the time but the TK and kinder kids are kept here all afternoon. They even eat lunch on the room at a couple small tables. It didn't look like there were enough chairs or tables for all the kids in the program. Maybe about half. We were told the kids are bright out daily at 240 but I found out from experience it's 220 pm. And it's been very hot. Having him sit out in 100 degree heat and extra 20 min wasn't okay Then I called to ask. In early Wednesday what time do you bring them out ? 1140 am. Ok. I have had a feeling staff didn't really know because even the person who answered the phone put me on hold to ask someone else. Do I called again the next day and was told the same. 1140. Then when I picked up my grandchild I asked the woman at the gate. What time is early Wednesday. To he specific I asked the same question each time. " what time do you bring them out"! Not what's the latest I can get them. Well come to find out they brought them out at 1120 every day and 1140 is the last minute they can be there with out penalty. Crazy. Why tell people 1140 is you want them picked up on time ? And again it's been super hot in September this year and the child doesn't need to be out waiting an extra 20 min. Then Thursday comes. I go to pick him up and the woman says nothing to me. Where's his backpack?? Well he lost it somewhere. You're kidding. From kinder class when you walk them over as a group YOUR staff somehow lost it!! I didn't say this but I'm thinking it. I want in and checked champions building. No backpack. She says well you can walk around and try to find it. I walked toward the kinder class. And there sitting by the kids bench where they like up for champions pick up is his backpack sitting there on the ground. !!!!! Your staff walked off and left it and took him with it not in his back. Who is in charge that's making these major mistakes. Well the Director Lily yells at me and says " we manage the kid, not their property". And kind you o hadn't said anything. I was just thinking how are you all managing your run a program. But this was the straw that broke camels back since we had found out they don't have any outdoor play area, and the part two weeks had herb nothing but snide remarks and attitude from the staff. Both my kids always did champions in Atascadero and I never had any issues. So all of this was shocking. And in Atascadero district champions kids play on School equipment Champions staff made several comments about not being affiliated with the school which of course I know it's a contracted outside company. Obvious! Buy the way comments were made made me feel there's been a bad relationship with the school and animosity So we cancelled the program for our child. I found out the same day one of our close friends also pulled their grandson out as well and heard rumors of more unhappy parents. This program needs a complete revamp. It's sad because it's convenient but an attitude adjustment and setting up an outdoor play ykme on the kinder play equipment are necessary Sept 2025.

I'm am equally grateful to the many volunteers and supporters who make this place possible. I'm a single parent and became ill and unable to work a few years ago. This drastically changed our lives financially. My income was reduced to social security disability and SSI.... in addition to extra medical costs associated with travel costs for treatment! This means we have to be extremely frugal. I have fully embraced my new frugal self, but what always gets me (and has never gotten easier to shrug off) is the many sacrifices my children HAVE TO deal with. Things like dance or art classes, sports, and sometimes even the basics aren't options. PRYAF has made it possible for my daughter to take the dance classes she has always wanted to take!! She just finished taking jazz and hip-hop classes and will be taking jazz and ballet over the summer break. For my children to have a "slice" of normalcy at a time I can't provide it has been HUGE, healing, and melts this mommy's heart :) My daughter is always so excited to go to her classes and we're both incredibly thankful for the opportunity and possibility!! Thank you PRYAF!!!

They line their pockets with money, but how many have you heard they actually help? I was doing all the foot work, all the calling, making out the filings for nothing. I give up. How many have you ever heard get housing? I stayed 14 days in the Prada center after being told I'd get an advocate if I did so. Didn't happen. I have jumped through all the hoops and still no further than the day I walked in. Now I know why people don't even bother. It's clear they are there for the paycheck.
