As an art lover, I think Studios on the Park is a MUST VISIT if you're ever in Paso Robles!…read more This is a large space in the downtown area, right in the main park. It is a brightly-lit, high ceiling building that has a collection of artwork (for sale!) from multiple local talents of various mediums. I went in to look, but walked out with 2 multi-media oil painting-newspaper pieces from an artist named Holly whom I even got to meet! It was incredible to get to chat with her about what inspired her to create this kind of work. Then at checkout, my eyeballs deceived me by wandering to some cool glass-blown plant stick decorations that were made from the last Disney glass blower. So, I, of course, *had* to buy a couple of those delightful beauties! Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming; there is much to look at and much to do there; it is also a place that has many giftable items if you have a birthday or holiday coming up or need some walls to fill. If I had more time, I would have stayed and participated in the self-paced $10 watercolor painting project that was setup in the middle of the hall. Heck, I could be here all day!

I almost missed this place. Once you enter one realizes how large it is. There are several spaces…read morethat different artists or collectives of artists occupy. A great range of beautiful paintings, sculptures, and mixed media. Also some jewelry and decor. Also lots of spaces dedicated to children's and young adults' art works.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to dip in and see what's good. Definitely, there was…read morea lot!! First and foremost, being a "good" shopper is important. What I mean by this is if you know your name brands, then you know when you're getting a great deal on thrifted items. I appreciated several things about the organization of this store, my thoughts are listed below: 1) it's clear that the staff curate the donated items 2) The staff appreciated that items are donated and therefore, do not upsell or make pricing comparable to retail prices 3) Items are well cared for and well organized throughout the shop - things were easy to find -- and therefore, appreciated. This store also sold some new and packaged / bundled overstock items (i.e. socks, underwear, etc) that I allllmost got. But I hesitated -- I already have two bags of mismatched socks -- they don't need more competition! I did, however come away with some really cool finds -- and I'm glad that the staff were patient with me returning to the cash register, not once, but THREE times!! I kept catching things out of the corner of my eye, each time I tried to leave. LOL! What I got: A pair of sorel sandals for 9.99 (retail price: $140) in excellent condition. A "Sally" from Nightmare before Christmas themed hoodie from Box Lunch for 6.99 (i think) -- actual retail price: $60.00 (or so) A pack of two yo-yo's for my kids (1.99) Thick shoelaces (for Vans) for 1.00 There were some amazing hand-cobbled shoe boots that I wish my foot was a bit bigger so they'd fit -- but no dice! Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a great time. Pix of my things, soon to come.

Everyone is so sweet here, every goodwill is different but something about this one feels friendly…read more They are organized well & parking is good! always find what I need!

Goodwill Donation Center

Great donation center in Paso Robles . One reviewer below is complaining they wouldn't not…read moreunload a whole truck of furniture. It's one guy taking donations and you unload your own vehicle. Most these people are older retirement age and it's on you to bring people if you can't unload your vehicle. Frivolous complaint and she said it was Atascadero but she posted to PR location Yelp. Geez! I prefer Atascadero because it's an easier drive through and when I can combine it with errands there I do. Paso has tiny parking area and you have to pull in and park in about 4 spaces if open. Usually at least 3 are. But anyway. Yah. Park. Unload your own stuff and the guy brings over a cart to place items into if not furniture. Your misc items need to be in bags or a box usually I use goodwill a lot because I itemize in taxes. So it's a write off. I see so much in Facebook marketplace that people might be donating instead. Such minor stuff to bother selling. My opinion and this is for charity. Goodwill provides some jobs as well to those that might not get them otherwise. Anyway. I recommend Goodwill. Atascadero or Paso Ribles. Also check out their Paso Robles store in downtown. I bought a large turkey platter there and some glassware. It's also a good spot when your kids move out of the house and need furniture or kitchen items, and more. Enjoy!

This Goodwill has super easy in/out and just grab a blank donation receipt…read more Sure, I get it why yelp peeps don't necessarily like it. They have help, if needed, but they don't offer much assistance. For me, it works. So to be clear, there's no store...it's just a drop-off.
