Parents are not allowed to talk to their children on the phone or in person. I would not recommend this camp. It is very scary and they do not properly vet the camp counselors, nor cabin leaders.

We stayed in the cabins, ate in one of the cafeterias, and spent most of our time by the beach, in the wood shop, in the chapel (way too cold -- someone turn that air-conditioning down please!), and in the game room pavilion. The cabins were as clean as cabins could be with some bugs (it's summer camp, what do you expect?). One bathroom wasn't enough for a room of ten girls, though! The wood shop was cool, and the girls enjoyed hanging out on the beach nearby, jumping in the water or fishing from the pier. The game room pavilion had chairs and some games to play, but it wasn't as appealing as playing in the park, which was in the middle of everything. The cafeteria/kitchen staff was also very accommodating of my request for vegetarian food. The first year, I was too nervous about asking for special food since it was free, so I just dealt with it and ate meat for a week. The second year, there were more vegetarians among the camp volunteers, so we felt more comfortable asking for vegetarian food. They did a great job remembering us and offering alternative foods. The camp and conference center also has a lagoon, paddle boats, canoeing, a paintball arena, sand volleyball, a gym, some high-ropes course thing, and different paths through the woods for team-building or hiking. Great options and great, friendly staff. There's also a lot of other lodging options and other spots to dine, but our kids didn't spend their time there. I guess three camps could occur at the same time. It's just a summer camp spot, but it's a great spot. I'm looking forward to next year!

My daughter rides consistently and the prices are so affordable that I don't mind. She is being taught everything from grooming and tacking and riding to cleaning up, personal responsibility, safety, and riding etiquette. Every lesson is different. There are different types available for riders of different skill level, type, age, and approach. The stable owner and trainer is hands on, patient, funny and so respectful. I am just never anything but impressed with her and the team of workers and volunteers that help her out (including Husband Dean). We had our first birthday party there this year and it put things just up and over the top. I had to do a review. I cannot recommend this place any higher. Its a home away from home. 5 stars and beyond.

Less than 90-minutes…read moreaway, unless you're Speed Racer, this is a nice little retreat with many rooms, a great lake to lounge and relax, and serenity that you seek outside of the city life. Keep in mind, if you can come here for non-religious reasons as well, as there were a few family reunions that had events here. The rooms of Covenant were decent. I would compare it to a hotel room. The room we had featured two twin beds, and we were able to fit in two twin-sized rolling cots as well. That's four dudes in one room, and we were somewhat comfortable. The sink, bathroom, and toilet were all in different rooms, so if you need to take care of business, it won't hinder someone from being able to shower, or brush their teeth. The staff here was super-nice and the rope course was the highlight of the place! We had so much fun doing team activities and how it tied in things spiritually. The only gripe about this place was the cafeteria food; at one point, the lunch that was served to us consisted of deli lunch meat. Not that great, but I guess, did the trick. If you are looking for a little bit of more hustle and bustle, Covenant is about a 15-minute walk to downtown Lake Geneva. Overall, staff and rooms were accommodating and decent. Bathroom in the hallway was clean as well. BATHROOM REVIEW: Reviewing the hallway public bathroom, the men's consisted of two standing urinals and two stalls. The urinals were super long and went all the way to the floor, so there's no chance of missing. The stalls seemed sturdy and were definitely functional. Soap dispensers were automatic and hand-free and overall the cleanliness was definitely there. Sit or squat? Squat.

It was okay for her, she said it was a little weird, but she had fun in the activities, like swimming, rope-climbing, etc. Anyways, it's designed to help current Christians with their faith and help other kids who don't exactly have a religion (I don't really know if that's possible, but whatever) find someone to have faith in. There are morning and night-time activities everyday when we play fun games, watch skits, and sing songs. It's way more fun than I described it. The staff here is AMAZING. They are mostly all college students and some that just graduated. They are always nice and never get extremely mad at you. They are all laid-back, fun people, which is why they got picked to be a counselor here. The housing there is actually a lot better than you would expect it to be. The little kids, I think about 1st grade to 3rd grade, have this area called Kishwauketoe, which is a little set back from everything and is in the woods. The little kids cabins are kind of "rustic" and they have to walk out of their cabin to get to the bathhouse and showers. The older kids, 4th grade to 8th grade, have their cabins all around the camp. Some of the cabins have air conditioning, and they are all nice inside. All of the cabins have bunk-beds, in case you were wondering, and you are allowed to choose from top or bottom. Let me go to the food. It's amazing, we get 3 meals a day, and for dessert after dinner, they have these amazing fruit popsicles. There is no "bug juice". The food isn't disgusting, and there is no "mystery meat". It's really good food, just saying. They also have a little snack shop you can buy food and candy from during free time. Geneva Lake is what makes this camp so good. The water is one of the clearest lakes in Wisconsin. They have water-trampolines, banana boats, and double tubing. They make you take a swim test on the first day, (the camp is only a week) to see if you can swim in the deep end or just the shallow end.
