    Single file, distance between horses.
    Lindsay J.

The horses in our group were great, calm, easy to trust. The reason I didn't give the experience the full five stars is because the trail ride is a pretty solitary 45 minutes. The horses only have room to go single file, which may be safer or maybe it's because of space, but if you were with a group, there was no opportunity to share the experience with each other while it was happening. That sort of bummed me out. I wanted to hear more about how my son was feeling as we were riding. I think getting on a horse, riding and the peaceful time are a valuable experience, just know what you are getting into, it's not a social time, but there is a lot of value in the other parts of the trail ride.

I came horseback riding here and it was fun! The horses were very well behaved and the trail itself was pretty, the tour guide was nice but didn't really talk too much. We rode through a trail on a 45 minute horseback riding trail ride!

What a fantastic family trail ride we just had!

What a fantastic ride we just had! We called ahead to make reservations- easy! Then we arrived early and enjoyed sitting the grass watching the chickens and pony while we waited for our ride time. It is a peaceful and beautiful property. The staff did an excellent job matching all riders up with the right SIZED horse/horse personality. Thank you Dan Patch Stables for making Father's Day even better!

Took my 8 yr old niece who started to show interest in horses. There was a small petting area and could buy feed to give the animals which included a pig, sheep, goats, and donkeys. We did that while waiting for her to go on the trail ride. Everyone was amazing and helpful. Great location beautiful trail that's about 45 min ride. Highly recommend.

Super friendly staff, beautiful trail ride. My horse was named Rocky, such a good boy. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to connect with nature!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Trails weren't the best due to the weather but overall experience was great. Will definitely be back.

I don't know what all all the negative reviews are about, but here is my take on the trail riding session we had. Our family of four, two adults and two kids, ages 8 and 11 went on a trail riding session for around $30. The session lasts 45min and my kids had a blast. To start with, these are full size horses and the kids will be riding independently. My 8yo who weighs about 45lbs was on a HUGE horse named Adios and she had a blast!!! The horse followed in line and she even got a first hand view of my horse having several BM's during the walk. The trail is great, it goes up into the woods with steep inclines and narrow paths. The kids kept talking about exploring like they were on Lord of the Rings. The horses were extremely well behaved and listened to all commands. The lead rider teaches you how to guid the horse using the reins. Overall, for a family of 4 it will cost you around $120 and will last about 1hr. If you kids love horses, they will love the experience and talk about it for years to come.

My daughter rides consistently and the prices are so affordable that I don't mind. She is being taught everything from grooming and tacking and riding to cleaning up, personal responsibility, safety, and riding etiquette. Every lesson is different. There are different types available for riders of different skill level, type, age, and approach. The stable owner and trainer is hands on, patient, funny and so respectful. I am just never anything but impressed with her and the team of workers and volunteers that help her out (including Husband Dean). We had our first birthday party there this year and it put things just up and over the top. I had to do a review. I cannot recommend this place any higher. Its a home away from home. 5 stars and beyond.

Meadowsweet Ranch…read more Wow! I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the program at Meadowsweet Ranch. I live over an hour away from Spring Grove, yet made the journey for my daughter who is an avid horse lover. She recently went for Spring Camp, and while it was only two days, she met other campers who have the same passion as her HORSES. She told me the day we left, "Mom hurry up! You need to sign me up for the summer before it is full!" She enjoyed riding, grooming and especially cleaning the hooves of the horses. I have always told her that riding a horse is a privilege and not a right. Horses need to be respected and that was fully reinforced at Meadowsweet Ranch. The safety of the children is priority, which is why the HORSE comes first. Crafts and activities planned with the other campers were appropriate, and the ranch feel is definitely welcoming. My only request is that I would have liked more feedback on the day of the camp to know what my daughter did that day. I guess no news is good news! Most importantly for me is that she LOVED it and we will definitely be back for on of the 3 summer sessions.

She talked about how much fun she has had and how much she has learned. She has been wanting to spend more time with the horses at the ranch. This is a hunter/jumper barn with a great lesson program. Private lessons are offered for all skill levels - beginner (never been on a horse) to advanced. They have ponies for small riders and beginner-safe horses. You don't need to have any of your own equipment, as everything is provided. Currently, I'm leasing a 16.3hh thoroughbred. I love him! This is just one of the many opportunities here for advancing your riding skills. I've been riding for 13 years now, and still have much more to work on. Pam is really great about finding local clinics to go to or even just for fun horse-related events in the area. In the past year, I've done the Racine Pony Club Hunter Pace and a Brad Hall clinic. We also go to the IronWorks schooling shows regularly. Meinpferde Farm is super laid back, which I love. Even though the trainers are primarily focus on hunter/jumper training, they welcome boarders of all disciplines. It's a very welcoming place. There's also a large hunt field in the back, where sometimes we ride. There are jumps set up there too, so it's super fun! In addition to lessons and boarding, they have a breeding program. It's a great place to go pony shopping! Their horses are very sweet and eager to learn.
