Recently I downloaded my 2019 tax return via portal to prepare for a pandemic business relief fund program and I had such a hard time figuring out the operating revenue and cost for various quarters in different years in the application. To my total surprise, shortly Sung emailed me that he noticed I accessed the portal for some tax files and wondered if there was anything that he could help. Literally within minutes of a few emailing, Sung responded that he can sort out the numbers for me in 2 days. BEST CPA ever!! I never thought I'd have fun doing taxes - until I hired Sung to help me with mine! He made the whole process so easy that all I had to do was sign at the end. As a 1099 independent contractor, I had no idea where to even being. He explained the entire tax situation to me and made me feel more at ease with what I had to deal with. Wow! I just called thinking I would be an early entry to complete my personal 2013 returns in 2014......nope! They're all booked! I don't want to give a 1 star for that purpose because that's not fair so I'll just give 5 stars because they have to be doing something right if you can't even get in for next year! So if you want to get your 2013 personal returns done just an FYI they're not taking on any new clients until after May 2014, this means you'll have to automatically file extensions for your 2013. But I liked the way they immediately called me to advise me this. Very professional so far! I'll just get an early start in 2014 for 2015! read more

I think it can be really frustrating and difficult to find a CPA you can trust and be satisfied with. I randomly found Sung through Yelp earlier this year after panicking when I realized how quickly the due date was approaching. It was the best decision I could have made to contact him! I agree with what everyone else says: Sung is really great. He is more knowledgeable than the IRS or the online programs by Turbo Tax and H&R Block. Seriously, I usually do my taxes and my mother-in-law's because she has alzheimer's so we have power of attorney. Well, that can be pretty difficult and I always put it off til the last minute. I wind up taking a week off work in April to complete them. Problem with my 2011 return was that we had sold our condo which we "rented" to our son and his wife for about a year. They were only paying what we would pay to keep it going, like dues and taxes. Never having sold a property, that was confusing enough, but throw in, the word "rental" and it gets way worse. I wound up filing for an extension. This just gave me until Oct 15 to realize I just couldn't handle it. I got conflicting results with online H&R Block program vs. Turbo Tax, reading Publications, and several calls to the IRS. After checking Yelp, and finding all these good reviews, I called Sung. Of course, this was like Oct 5! and cpa's are very busy, which I didn't realize. He was so cool though. He asked my problem and tried to help me over the phone! But I didn't trust myself or these online programs and felt doomed. Sung must have sensed this because he squeezed me in and I am sooooo glad he did. I feel fantastic about the whole process with Sung. He told me up front what it would likely cost. I have been audited by the IRS in my younger years due to an extremely unscrupulous accountant I had when I was in my early 20s. $50,000 in taxes owed later and surviving the personal hell of going through an audit has made me extremely selective when choosing an accountant. I have always been able to do my own taxes, but this year after purchasing property I had to find a trustworthy company to do them for me. I was referred to Yi & Co. by a friend and I am extremely happy that I went there. I could only meet on the weekend and Sung made himself available to me so I could meet him in person before giving him all of my private financial statements. He was friendly and patient with all of my questions. This company uses top of the line security servers, so I was able to upload documents at my convenience without having to go back in person (I don't live close). This will be more efficient for me to do for future tax endeavors.
