Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. They talk a big game. They charge a big price and the follow through is terrible. It took me over a two months to get confirmation that they actually sent my taxes to the IRS. For the past 23 years that I've been doing my taxes. I've generally received my money in 2-3 weeks. One thing that really got me is they decided to use my account information to pay themselves. They didn't even send me an invoice and let me pay them. I reached out to Daniel about a year ago now to get the process started on looking into some back taxes that I owe the IRS. When we had our initial meeting, he laid out a game plan that I honestly wish would've come to fruition. The first step of which involved sending a letter to the IRS on my behalf, then waiting for them to send me letters so that we could review them together and determine where to go from there. I paid him somewhere in the ballpark of $900-$1000 to start. Unfortunately, that's where it began to break down. I never received a single letter from the IRS in the timeframe he said I would which was about 2 months give or take. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After 3 months had passed, I reached back out to say I still haven't received anything, to which he said he would write another letter to them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's now been a year, I still haven't received a single letter from the IRS, or any correspondence from Daniel offering any kind of follow up, and I believe he forgot about the ordeal completely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I sent him an email a few days ago in the hopes of getting on with the process. This CPA firm is a rip-off. They always look for ways to charge you, even for services that aren't necessary. For example, BOIR is a recent goverment-required filing that all business owners must complete. My new CPA firm and my bookkeeper send me a link and says anyone can file this in 3 min, and they were right! I could finish it in 3 min! I loved working with Honest Tax Solutions for the 2023 filing year. I first met Daniel in person for a consultation and he walked me through their process and fees. After that my primary contact was Bree who was super responsive, informed, and friendly throughout the entire process of getting my taxes done. This is a great team who are very personable and friendly, and based on my experience so far they live up to their name. The cost was not inexpensive, but I felt it was reasonable and fair provided the work and time they put into it since my situation was a little complex. Sorry for the late review, better late than never. Reporting on my experience from last year's tax return season. I have been doing my taxes in LA for many years and wanted to consolidate all of my financial investments with a one-stop financial tax firm that I could also retain for tax/financial services and came across Honest Tax Solutions. Honest Tax Solutions is far from "honest". Daniel Stevens (owner) gives a master performance in "selling" his firm's tax and financial investment services. However, after signing a contract last year for my 2022 tax return, it quickly turned into THE ABSOLUTE WORST tax firm I have EVER worked with for several reasons. First, this was the first time I was working with their firm, and they emailed my returns without personally reviewing my return with me. I am not a tax expert and I rely on my accountant to review my return with me. When I requested an appointment to review my tax return, Daniel told me that they have hundreds of returns to complete and they rely on their clients to ask them questions about the returns, which is completely unacceptable. Second, as standard industry practice, I have always received a complete printed copy in a file folder with the firm's contact information attached with my original tax documents. However, when I asked Daniel to prepare this for me, he seemed completely reluctant and told me that he would have to print on double sides to save paper and "could do it if that's what I wanted." Lastly, the most disturbing is the entire firm's lack of professionalism, courtesy, follow through and reliability. Daniel passed me on to his Operations Manager, Breanna to coordinate completing my return. She called me to get my consent to debit $445 for the cost of my tax return, she overcharged me in the amount of $465 without sending me an invoice and/or receipt. Then she passed me onto the office assistant to schedule an appointment to get my tax return signed, I emailed them both 3 times without a response. On the 4th attempt to contact the firm, I called Daniel directly and the office assistant, Ileen called me and rather than courtesy apologizing for the delay in returning my messages, she gave me a full-blown attitude and acted as though she were doing me the favor. When I addressed these issues with Daniel directly, he immediately got angry. Then he YELLED at me and BERATED me over the telephone, I am completely appalled by his behavior. Honest Tax Solutions is not a firm that I would ever trust my accounting and finance needs with nor recommend based on their lack of integrity, professionalism, courtesy, reliability and efficiency, effectiveness. "Honest" Tax Solutions operates like a low-grade tax firm, far worse than working with H&R Block. read more

My wife and I were looking for a more experienced and professional accounting firm this year as our financials have gotten more complicated than previous years. Upon doing a bunch of research, we ended up going with Daniel and Honest Tax Solutions. We had several initial questions before deciding to go with them, and they were all very responsive and professional. We were able to make an appointment within a few days, which was great. My wife and I met with Daniel in person and discussed all our concerns and documents. We were told it'll take several days to get everything prepared and sent over to us for review. It took them a week to prepare and send the returns over to us, which is understandable as it was late in the tax season. Before being able to view the returns, you must pay the fee for their services, which is totally fine. However, upon receiving the prepared returns, I noticed we owed a lot more than expected, so I called their office. Daniel called me back later that day and notified me that he wasn't the one that prepared the returns for us, but he would review it and get back to us within the next day or two. Keep in mind this was around 04/21/2022. We're in June now and I've still to hear back from Daniel or the team. Interesting how once the fee, which was not cheap, was paid, all communications went out the window. Even after reaching back out to them several weeks after, I still haven't heard anything back from them other than they'll "...discuss it in their staff meeting...". Needless to say, we found another tax professional who prepared/filed within days, while also saving us nearly $5K. I expected much more from Honest Tax Solutions and will not be returning/recommending to anyone for next tax season!! read more
