Usually we get an email following task list months before tax season and even the I always get behind BUT their team is so on it! Stellar. If I can only use one word to define the experience I received, it is stellar. Gill Tax Group (GTG) took me in last minute, thoroughly reviewed my returns after I had a hiccup with TurboTax and discovered that the TurboTax software did not flag the necessity to file in another state.* Had GTG not checked this and had I relied on TurboTax, I would have been subject to a review and possible full audit by not only the California Franchise Tax Board, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, but also the Internal Revenue Service. GTG cares and is very thorough. If they make a commitment to help, they have proven that be true. Trying to get through to TurboTax customer service was a nightmare and nobody understands what I'm asking or trying to do, notwithstanding the technical gliches they have. GTG understood came through and took over immediately and filed expeditiously--and I am very thankful. I cannot recommend this wonderful firm enough to others. * Had I opted for the "audit free protection" offered by TurboTax, it would likely have been denied because it only protects you in the State you file. TurboTax did not recognize that I needed to file a return in another state and therefore I would have l been denied the protection had I went that route if I were to be reviewed and audited. WTG GTG! I wanted a CPA who was familiar with handling pro-rata (old company 401k (traditional IRA) and new 401K company conversion to 401K Roth), 401K mega back door conversions for simple tax (no rental nor business). Including options to maximize 401K conversions for coming year and to relook at past year versus when it's near tax time. Besides taxes, the site indicated wealth management and financial planning so I wanted to compare/interview the CPA/CFA to decide. Unfortunately, I could not get a free 10-15min zoom consult with a CPA to see if the knowledge/personality was a good fit. It says "TAX group" but I was told the "ONE" CPA was overwhelmed with work so doesn't have time to consult without an upfront fee nor time to look at situation now Aug 2024 vs. near crunch time April 2025. read more

I don't recommend Gill Tax Group. I had a bad experience with them. Some lady named Kathy fucked up on the returns. And she doesn't work there anymore, she lied to me and husband that we were going to receive a refund of $1900, They kept making up excuses of about Kathy. That she never said that to us when she did! And the amended returns were sent out late to the IRS. And I had to pay interest of what I owe the IRS, They charged me $800 do to a amended return their expensive. read more

I have found Gill Tax on yelp website and hired them , So I think its fair to write my review here , There are many details I can get into but I have to write a 5 page article if I want to mention all, but make it short I am not satisfied with the service I got for my book which needed reconciling and revising some error from previous accountant , the whole process took about 5 months and was much longer than what I was expecting , many errors and mistakes happened in their end , I was working with Jesse and Ibrahim in the beginning , while I do have to mention Jesse was a very polite and a nice gentleman but the final outcome was way below than my expectation with so many errors and unfinished sections , I have paid full amount in two portion and provide every documents they needed , In the end I figured my balance sheet and profit loss statement hasn't been touched at all !! There were some back and forth with Divya and of course instead of accepting the weakness of firm she was defending their work which shows me she is kind of on stage of denial , There was a time they haven't respond my work for 30 days, I was even thinking to take some legal actions back then if they wouldn't finish the job right. I have to mention after she noticed my dissatisfaction , she put some reasonable time to make it right but at the same it took so much of time of me to find their errors and supervised it since they were still doing some mistakes , but overall I was happier with the outcome. Two advices I have here : nothing wrong that you want your payment as soon as possible to protect yourself , But you shouldn't just receive the money and have work not completely done and put client in a position of keep chasing you to finish the job , I've got an impression from Divya she kind of looking at other business from top to bottom but if you have your business running its because business like us existing , We as customer make your business alive by hiring you , So maybe this kind of attitude need to be revised here. Second advice is thats great to have beautiful office and try to act professional , But these are not enough when you don't do the job right in the beginning and just wanted to wrap it up without paying attention to details. In the end it is totally fine to do not pay attention to details and wanna wrap something up , But not when it comes to accounting and accountant world ! ------------ Update about Your Reply : One reason the book is in right format now is my major was also accounting and I had to spend time to find some of the errors it was happening in the book , my job is running business not guiding the team how to manage the book properly, If you or your firm are not familiar with the certain type of business industry which is understandable for me , Then you might need to spend more time to do understand the business to format it right. I have always updated every documents you or your team needed on time in reasonable timely manner , I was also always on the time and on top of it and I have proof of all of my communication that your team hasn't responded on time and for weeks to my emails , In addition there were some documents uploaded for 2-3 months and not even touched or formatted properly in the book . As I mentioned in our email exchanges before , Please do not spread wrong information about the way I provided documents because it would only put your ethic under question , Thats exactly one of the main reason this review has been posted on here to help other people to know the truth about your firm . I was only looking to have work for 2023 in the beginning when we just got started but when I noticed the delays and mistakes I had also changed my mind about working with your firm. I found Divya very difficult to work with and her asking for so much money up front was very disappointing, so I decided to move on and find someone better. I was able to quickly find another tax preparer and I couldn't be happier. No money up front and my new tax preparer was much more professional and helpful. One comment Divya made to me was "You can call around, but you're not going to find anyone that will make a different offer."
