This is a great place to go if you want something chill yet fun. I come here on Friday or Saturday nights after 9 pm when it's byob. No coins needed. You pay by the hour is pretty cheap (if you like to play). They have little snacks like corn dog and churros.. but they don't look so good. They got candy and snacks in case u get the munchies. It was about 8 dollars for a bit over an hour to stay there. The STAFF ARE NICE AND HELPFUL TOO. They have everything. You feel like you're back in time but yet they have new games as well. They have ninja turtle, mortal combat, pac man, different pinball machines, pool table, ping pong, air hockey, skee ball, ddr.. they also have about 6 seating couches where you can play xbox.. nintendo.. wii.. ps.. and they have practically all the games you can imagine. You just have to ask the employees which game u want and they will give it to you. But sometimes those seats fill up so don't expect to get them so quickly as some people stay forevaaaa. Went here on a summer Friday night around 7pm and it wasn't overly crowded! I was very surprised. I left around 930pm and it was definitely getting busy at that point. The games were fun. I liked the selection. The pricing is decent. I'd set a timer on my phone when going next time so I kept track of how long I was there. Skeeball lanes weren't even, some were more level which led to higher scores. Pinball machines were excellent. I liked the pool table but could see that if it got busy and there was a wait, I'd get upset. Overall I had a really great experience and will definitely be back but will make sure it's on off peak hours again. Also staff was friendly and helpful. read more

An awesome place you can easily sink multiple hours into. The staff is super friendly and the byob aspect is an excellent bonus. A great place to go with a group of friends or just to hole away by yourself. They have all of the classics, every console from Atari to Xbox One. This place is a lot of fun. Brings back many memories of my childhood both playing 8-bit NES at home as well as trolling the local arcades. My father would drop me off with a $10 roll of quarters and I would just go to town. This place is a tad pricier than that! I'm still a little iffy on the nearly $9 flat hourly fee, but I don't go here too often, so it's not breaking the bank. My very young son and his friends all love it. I think these games remind them of the many very popular games that are available for download on devices like electronic pads and smart phones. These apps are very simplistic in nature, similar to games like Pac-Man and Spy Hunter. There's something so addictive about these games so it's no wonder that they are attracted to them. This place will need to continue to grow though in order to keep itself relevant. They need to continue to add new games (would love to see Punch-Out, Kung-Fu Master and Super Mario Bros). They should also add some incentive to playing certain games. For instance, they have skeeball machines, but they don't have any prizes to award so the machines don't hand out tickets. That could be something they introduce in the future. I also love their selection of pinball machines as well as the pool table. Speaking of pool, that reminds me: they need smaller cue sticks! Little kids love playing pool. I was teaching my son and his friends the last time we were there, but those cue sticks are too big for them. Definitely need to get some half-sized sticks for younger children so they can get involved in the game and have more fun! Overall a very nice experience, but it might get stale quick if they don't continue to update and stay relevant. read more

This place is awesome. I knocked them a star because not all of the games were working, and another star because we were not able to use any of the console games. Their system when it comes to console games is you just have to wait for a slot to open up, and hopefully grab that slot before someone else takes it. Not sure why they haven't implemented some sort of grab a number system like when you go to a deli, and why not implement a time limit. If no one is waiting you can stay playing. If people are waiting, then 30 minute limit. Everything else was great and it was awesome to play some games from my childhood. Would highly recommend. read more

This place RULES! I am a HUGE fan of pinball, and even on a Saturday night, I didn't have much trouble playing all of the ones I had my eye on. My girlfriends and I were able to play some Mario Kart and had a blast! The staff is pleasant, fun, and helpful. Really great experience. I kind of like that they don't have a liquor license. This place is awesome. So many cool old school games in one place. I got the day pass and spent five hours there playing all sorts of games from skeeball, tmnt, pacman, all sorts of pinball games etc. They also have every gaming system thinkable. I played paperboy! Such amazing memories of the easier days. I highly recommend going and stepping back in time to your childhood. For 2 day passes we payed about 50 bucks. But the games are free (well not really. U just never have to add coins or tokens. Your 50 bucks gives you endless usage for the day. ) and u get a wrist band so u can leave for lunch/dinner and come back. They sell snacks and will have a snack bar open soon. Also, Friday and Saturday nights after 9pm its byob!!!! So cool. And mostly adults. They're open till 2 am I think. Ladies and gentlemen, if you want to feel like you were back to your youngin' day, then I highly recommend you visit this place at least once. I will guarantee you that you will feel 10 years old again. The variety of games can go from the old boardwalk game and air hockey to plain old game consoles you used to play during your younger day. There are no coins to play any of the games and festivities at this arcade. However you paid by the hour, so remember how long you are there, time goes by when you are having fun. Great place to spend an entire day at. Lost track of time until we went to the register and they cut our wrist bands lol. There's a lot of retro arcades from Super Mario Bros to Gauntlet and Street Fighter. On the east wall there's also an assortment of pinball machines. The west wall is lined with 4 flat screen tv's and almost every single console. The games library for the console is pretty diverse too but it's mostly games that people donated to Yestercades. There's also a dance machine and air hockey and foosball. It's only $8 an hour (great price!) and you don't have to hassle with coins or tokens, and the location is perfect. That being said this gaming haven has something for everybody! $10 an hour gets you unlimited quarters on all they have to offer from 80s to more modern arcade classics a pool table, air hockey table, skee ball, and even hdtvs with comfy couches with game systems from Atari to ps4 and a nice snack bar. They are a great place to hold kids birthday parties as well. They get four stars from me because some of the arcade machines were out of order that I really wanted to play while some that worked the joysticks were not working properly. I absolutely love this place! Maybe it has everything to do with all the memories that came to mind from games I have played in my childhood or that I was sweating while playing an intense game of air hockey... Either way this is grounds for a five star review. You step in and get a wrist band, no change, no coins needed as you pay $8.75 per hour or $25 for a re-entry pass. Though a small venue I believe it uses every square inch wisely. There's four (maybe five), I think 42" flat screens mounted on the wall. Each set up to every game console you can think of, except Atari (not saying that it's not there, I didn't see it). Leather love seats are stationed in from giving you a "comfort feel", like you're at home. There's games in different bookcases along the way. I didn't know how to set up the console on the correct AV but the staff was very, very helpful with setting up the tv as well as getting the correct controllers that were needed to play the console we wanted. I also want to say the place is kept up to high standards as I noticed different workers cleaning the machines and wiping down tables. There's no alcohol served here but there is a little food counter, not sure what's sold there but it seems like it's a BYOB situation, as there was individuals drinking beers who said they brought their own when I inquired. They have all the old school arcade games, and other games such as pinball, skeeball, and air hockey. It's funny how many men were there in their 30's & 40's, but I can see why. However, I think it would a great idea to offer a monthly pass - but only for those who are 18 years of age or older, and one that is non-transferable. The weekends can get very cramped, so if you like to have room to maneuver - there are plenty of off-peak times to take advantage of. Yestercades does fair to respectable job of maintaining its classic video game (Asteroids, Tron, etc.) and pinball inventory. It's a great all-around place for those around the 50-year age group to go back in time, it's the perfect place. For classic video game players who are more serious and competitive, it may be a little less enticing, but in all fairness, the establishment has to market its product to the largest audience - and that's the casual enthusiast at the present time. read more

Yestercades of Somerville, NJ is meh...not bad, but not great either. Compared to the Morristown Game Vault, Yestercades is rather small. A lot of the games there were out of order, some had no sound and others needed to be renovated to improve screen clarity. Parking around the area is horrible. (Go on a Sunday. The street parking is free that day). The staff were just not upbeat at all, and frankly looked depressed. The comfortable couches are a nice touch and the huge variety of home consoles and games such as guitar hero is a definite plus. I also liked the soft padded stools for playing the upright 80's games. They have plenty of old atari games and they have soccer and hockey foosball games which I thoroughly enjoyed. 25 dollars for a day pass is a bit steep in my opinion for a rather small arcade. I'd rather pay 15. That would be a fair price. The Morristown Game Vault charges 25 as well for a day pass, but their huge selection of 80's video games and pinball machines as well as home console games is outstanding and well worth the money, and not to mention that the owner there works his butt off to keep the games well maintained. The staff and the owner at the Game Vault are also very upbeat and friendly. I would give them an extra star over Yestercades. read more
