What a beautiful venue! We just went to see Walker Hayes in concert tonight and had a great time. The theater was very clean and well maintained. My only complaint was that my boyfriend bought 2 little bags of peanut M & M's and they were $8. I get that we are at a show and the markup at a venue like that but $4 for a little bag seems like way too much. Next time, no snacks.

I went here to see Tito Nieves in his 50th Year Tour. I had excellent orchestra seats. Great view and Great show. He had Brenda K. Star and George Lamond as special guests. Excellent show. Sold out performance. My first time at STNJ and had a wonderful time.

Checking in the place is a breeze and getting to our seats was easy too. Staff is nice. The show was amazing. The stage is small but that didn't impact the show. Purchased tickets online and it was a simple process. I'd definitely come back here again.

The call I received Today 10/22/25

Soooo I get a call today while at my office. "Hi this is the back office at State theatre, we think your purchase is FRAUDULENT, as you've stated you live in Brooklyn and we are in New Jersey". "I've even tried googling your address and nothing is coming up". "Can you please confirm your address"?. WTFFFFF I have never experienced in all my years of living. My best friend is a Broadway performer for the show & Juliet in which I get FREE TICKETS to numerous ON BROADWAY shows, and this has never ever happened. So because I live in Brooklyn I shouldn't purchase tickets in New Jersey????? He also stated he found it very weird that it was only 1 ticket . Hmmmmm???? So I can't purchase a single ticket to watch a show alone ????. I am beyond turned off and would never visit this theatre EVER AGAIN. I visited 2 years ago, with my husband to see The nutcracker which was amazing. I don't know what happened since then, but I'm good. Never returning.

My husband and I are frequent Broadway goers and came here to see Tina Turner since we didn't get a chance to see it when it was running in NYC. Let me just say I was not disappointed. I would totally go back here for another play. First off: the tickets were at the fraction of the price, as were the drinks and concessions which I loved. The seats were super comfortable in comparison to Broadway seating. The entire place, bathroom, lobby, auditorium were all very well kept and clean. Tima Turner play was absolutely fantastic! I would totally see that again. My only complaint is having only one booth for merch. The theater was almost sold out and the line was ridiculous to purchase. I also didn't like that one of the workers was rushing everyone to their seat when purchasing drinks and the show started 15 min after, therefore for the first half we had nothing to drink.

I saw Clue: A New Comedy at the State Theatre of New Jersey this weekend. The play is part of the 2023-2024 Broadway Series. It was a great show - all talented actors and creative set design. I would recommend supporting live entertainment and seeing a theatrical production here. I was seated in row J and I had a good view of the stage. The seats are much more comfortable than other theaters or music halls that I've visited. I've been here before for a concert, but this was my first time here for a play. I hope to return soon. Tip: Park at the nearby Morris Deck (70 New Street) if you're coming here on the weekend. Street parking may be slim. Rates are fair; I paid $6 for 2 hours.

The new coed bathrooms at NJ State theatre. PATHETIC

I recently went there with 2 of my friends (all women) we had balcony seats. They now have non- gender bathrooms upstairs. When my friends and I went to use the bathroom we were SHOCKED AND APPAULED that there were both men and women in the same bathroom. Needless to say we didn't use it and left. So my advice if this offends you like me get seating downstairs or don't go. I'm choosing as my friends we will never return. Thank hod my 90 year old mother or my 6 year old granddaughter weren't with me

Just saw Shen Yun there. ( saw Brit Floyd a few years back Great theater as it is not that big and most seats are great. Comfy chairs. Snacks & a bar provided. Best thing is that it is located in the heart of downtown with many parking and restaurant options within walking distance. Has some great acts perform here. Highly recommended.

Our view from right orchestra, Row V, seat 11

We went to see David Foster and Katharine McPhee! No wait in line. Any seat has great view! Row v, seat 11

We love the State Theatre. We came to see Gilberto Santa Rosa sing his hits songs. He drew a big crowd. Not an empty chair in this place. Glad people weren't getting up to often. We were at the last tier of seats with pathway in front of us. I have to make time to come see more shows at this beautiful theatre.

Staff is super helpful! From security to ticketing, ushers, and concessions. Shows start promptly and everything is well organized so coming in and out is easy to navigate. The theatre was clean and well kept. Parking gets tricky so come early and prepared.

There are a couple of more theaters nearby. It was not a big auditorium, we were in an auditorium (James M. Cahill Stage), with a capacity of app 500 folks. The show started on time, with no interruptions, Show went well and, after that, we got a chance to take a photo with Vipul Goyal- that was unexpected. The sound was perfectly balanced and good, with no issues in lighting- that's up to the Showrunners. Even seat arrangments, and view of the stage- it was good. After the show, there were many restaurants nearby so no hassling in finding good restaurants as well.. we tried chai chenak, and it was good. During crunch time; I had to go to the hospital almost everyday two weeks before the shower for check up cause my OB thought he had to deliver the baby early. Everyone in my family was anxious and baby shower planning including discussing what kind of atmosphere I wanted to create, the guest lists, games, and music took a back seat. We got good news a day before the shower and went ahead with the shower! The day of the party was hectic and stressful for everyone! While setting up the place he had asked me what I wanted to do. I confessed I didn't have time to plan out the day completely.I told him we were expecting 150 people, the music I played for the baby, and the games my family wanted to play. He suggested different ways of executing each plan and we discussed each step. Once the party started I kept losing track of time And couldn't keep up. He'd find me and remind me of what was coming up from the mock planning we did and asked for a go ahead and gave me a time frame so everything would be set up by the time he'd announce the next thing on the agenda. Everyone had such a great time and everything went so smoothly they thought we had all the time in the world to plan! My stress level was next to nothing and even I had time to dance with the guest and actually ENJOY it. By the next day, the hospital where I worked heard about the party and the guests wouldn't stop talking about it. He went above and beyond his professional responsibility and I'm completely grateful!
