My son who had just started tried a few classes on and off and he found his thing as a hip hop dancer. Both kids love center stage and their teachers too! Richardson Auditorium is a total hidden gem on the Princeton University Campus. The amazing…read morearchitecture, high ceilings, carvings and art that adorns building are just amazing. The venue seats 891 people. I recently saw Sō Percussion JACK Quartet, a free performance offered by the University. This group was performing the following week at Carnegie Hall and I was fortunate to see some of the new material they would be playing at Carnegie. The acoustics and sound are wonderful. A wide variety of events, concerts, lectures and musical artists perform here throughout the year. Upon occasion, there may be a dance or theatrical production.

I was there for an orchestral music concert, SCORES, which is this annual collaboration between NJSO and the Cone Institute in Princeton. During crunch time; I had to go to the hospital almost everyday two weeks before the shower for check up cause my OB thought he had to deliver the baby early. Everyone in my family was anxious and baby shower planning including discussing what kind of atmosphere I wanted to create, the guest lists, games, and music took a back seat. We got good news a day before the shower and went ahead with the shower! The day of the party was hectic and stressful for everyone! While setting up the place he had asked me what I wanted to do. I confessed I didn't have time to plan out the day completely.I told him we were expecting 150 people, the music I played for the baby, and the games my family wanted to play. He suggested different ways of executing each plan and we discussed each step. Once the party started I kept losing track of time And couldn't keep up. He'd find me and remind me of what was coming up from the mock planning we did and asked for a go ahead and gave me a time frame so everything would be set up by the time he'd announce the next thing on the agenda. Everyone had such a great time and everything went so smoothly they thought we had all the time in the world to plan! My stress level was next to nothing and even I had time to dance with the guest and actually ENJOY it. By the next day, the hospital where I worked heard about the party and the guests wouldn't stop talking about it. He went above and beyond his professional responsibility and I'm completely grateful!

The teachers are amazing, their choreography is so creative, they care about their students and they push their students to be the best dancers that they can be. No other studio is like this one. The competition team is made up of phenomenal dancers and their competitive numbers are unbelievable! My daughter graduated from NJCOD in 2009 and we keep going back to visit because it's not just a studio and you are not just a dancer, this is our dance family!
